Davis is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Baltimore.

Davis started at catcher in each of the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather during Thursday's matinee. Joey Bart is behind the dish and batting sixth for the Pirates.

Devanney is out of the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.

Devanney has seen most of the playing time at third base since he was recalled in late August, but he'll take a seat for Thursday's series finale. Jared Triolo will shift over to third base and Liover Peguero will cover shortstop as the Pirates try to avoid the sweep.

Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Schmitt singled in the fifth and added a two-bagger in the ninth, marking his third multi-hit performance in September. Over eight outings this month, the 26-year-old infielder is batting .296 with four RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and a home run in 31 plate appearances, Overall, he's slashing .244/.311/.407 with 35 RBI, 28 runs scored, 14 doubles and 10 long balls across 300 plate appearances this season.

Devers went 1-for-3 with two RBI, a double and a walk in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Devers smacked a two-RBI double to center field in the eighth inning, driving in the Giants' first two runs. The 28-year-old has safely reached base in 15 consecutive outings, slashing .328/.426/.690 with 19 RBI, seven runs scored and six long balls across 68 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .260/.378/.486 with 102 RBI, 89 runs scored, 31 homers and a stolen base in 658 plate appearances over 147 games between San Francisco and Boston.

Sproat is slated to start Saturday's game against the Rangers at Citi Field.

Called up from Triple-A Syracuse last weekend, Sproat turned in a largely impressive MLB debut in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Reds. The 24-year-old righty held the Reds hitless through the first 5.1 innings but unraveled a bit thereafter, finishing the contest with three earned runs allowed on three hits and four walks while striking out seven across six frames. He spotted 58 of his 88 pitches for strikes in the outing and averaged 96.1 miles per hour with his fastball, though he didn't induce many whiffs (six swinging strikes). With the Mets recently dispatching the struggling Kodai Senga to the minors and with Sean Manaea's standing in the rotation on shaky ground, Sproat should have a good chance to make three more starts with the big club through the end of the regular season.

Soto went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.

The Mets only had nine hits in total on the night in an 11-3 rout, and Soto had their only extra-base hits. The 26-year-old sits one long ball shy of his second straight 40-homer campaign, and he needs to drive in just five more runs for his third straight 100-RBI season, and the fourth of his career. Soto's been New York's only consistent hitter lately as the team clings to a wild-card spot, and over his last 12 games he sports a blistering .432/.545/1.000 slash line that includes seven home runs and eight steals.

The Phillies will call up Buehler from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Friday's game against the Royals in Philadelphia.

Just as Matt Gelb of The Athletic had reported Aug. 31 when the Phillies signed Buehler to a minor-league deal, the right-hander will end up joining the big club for the final 15 games of the regular season as the team expands its rotation to six men. Before he was cut loose by Boston, Buehler had submitted a 5.45 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 84:55 K:BB in 112.1 innings on the season, but the Phillies are hoping that the change of scenery can help the two-time All-Star rediscover his prior form. After being assigned to the minors following his signing, Buehler made one start for Lehigh Valley this past Saturday, striking out five over three innings while allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks.

Marsee went 4-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.

All four knocks were singles, but the rookie center fielder just keeping on raking. Marsee has seven multi-hit performances in his last 15 games, slashing .344/.412/.443 during that span with three doubles, one homer, three steals, four RBI and nine runs. His .977 OPS in his first 39 big-league games is second only to the A's Nick Kurtz (1.023 OPS) among all rookies with at least 100 plate appearances this season, and only a late promotion is keeping Marsee out of the NL Rookie of the Year discussion.

Mack went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored for Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old backstop walked it off for the Jumbo Shrimp in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving Mack his 20th homer of the year between Double-A and Triple-A. He's gone yard in four straight games, and over his last 12 contests for Jacksonville he's slashing .325/.383/.950 with 10 of his 13 hits (two doubles, a triple and seven homers) going for extra bases. The presence of Agustin Ramirez ahead of him on the organizational depth chart complicates his timeline, but Mack appears ready to make his big-league debut in 2026, and he could be competing for a 26-man roster spot in spring training.

Vasquez is slated to start Thursday's game against the Rockies at Petco Park.

The Padres activated Michael King from the injured list earlier this week, but with Nestor Cortes (biceps) still stuck on the shelf, Vasquez will get at least one more turn through the rotation. After being recalled from Triple-A El Paso last weekend, Vasquez delivered a quality start in the Padres' win over the Rockies at Coors Field, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits and no walks while striking out three over six innings. He'll take a 3.91 ERA and 1.38 WHIP into Thursday's rematch with the Rockies in San Diego.
