Gusto (7-5) took the loss against Atlanta in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings.

The Marlins acquired Gusto in a deadline deal with Houston and initially sent him to Triple-A Jacksonville. However, the big-league squad needed a spot starter for Saturday's twin bill and added the right-hander as the 27th man. Gusto held his own -- though he took the loss, he notched a quality start and racked up an impressive 15 whiffs en route to eight punchouts. Despite the strong performance, Gusto will need to return to the minors ahead of Sunday's series finale unless the Marlins instead opt to clear a spot on the 26-man roster for him with a different move.

Perdomo went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rockies.

Perdomo has hit safely in eight of his last nine games and has a trio of three-hit efforts in that span. The shortstop's steady hitting has helped him maintain a starting role for the vast majority of the season. He's up to a .283/.383/.429 slash line with 11 home runs, 75 RBI, 64 runs scored and 17 stolen bases through 116 contests, putting him on pace for a career year across the board in his fourth big-league campaign.

Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rockies.

Gurriel opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. He added a sacrifice fly in the third and then delivered a walk-off double in the ninth. The outfielder already has four multi-hit efforts over eight games in August, batting .294 (10-for-34) with 11 RBI in that span. Overall, he's at a .249/.294/.410 slash line with 14 home runs, 59 RBI, 38 runs scored and nine steals through 107 games this season.

Waldrep (2-0) earned the win over Miami in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over six innings.

Waldrep was called up for the contest for what could just be a spot start. The rookie right-hander at least gave Atlanta something to think about in terms of leaving him in the rotation, as he not only earned the victory, he also notched his first career quality start while racking up 12 whiffs and six punchouts over six frames. Through two major-league outings, Waldrep has surrendered just two runs over 11.2 innings while posting a 10:3 K:BB. Atlanta's pitching staff has been hit hard by injuries this season, and among current starters, none were part of the Opening Day rotation. With some shifting, that could leave room for Waldrep to be given a chance to remain a big-league starter, though it's worth noting that Chris Sale (ribs) is beginning a minor-league rehab stint next week and could be activated off the IL not long thereafter.

Ashcraft did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Reds, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 3.1 innings.

Ashcraft opened with three scoreless frames before allowing a run and recording just one out in the fourth. The 25-year-old generated eight whiffs on 56 pitches in what was his longest outing of the season. He owns a 3.19 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB across 36.2 innings and tentatively lines up for a tough road matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

Carroll went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rockies.

Carroll has homered in three straight games and has four long balls over eight contests in August. His fifth-inning blast tied the game at 4-4. The star outfielder has tied his career high with 25 homers this season, doing so in just 100 games, which gives him plenty of time to add on to his count. He's also provided 59 RBI, 75 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and a .248/.323/.555 slash line through 449 plate appearances this year.

Contreras went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mets.

Contreras capped a four-run seventh inning with a two-run blast off Ryan Helsley. It was a much-needed performance for the catcher, who had been mired in a 1-for-22 slump since last homering in a five-hit effort Aug. 1. For the year, he's slashing .250/.351/.371 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI, 63 runs scored and five steals across 482 plate appearances.

Rodriguez allowed five runs on six hits and five walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

Rodriguez has allowed four or more runs in four of his last six outings. He's also walked multiple batters in five straight starts, though the five free passes he issued Saturday represented a season high. The southpaw is now at a 5.68 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 105:42 K:BB through 103 innings over 20 starts this season. Rodriguez is projected to make his next start in a rematch with the Rockies in Colorado.

Turang went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Mets.

Turang tied the game with a 410-foot blast in the fourth inning and then singled and scored again in the seventh. The 25-year-old has been red hot to open August, hitting safely in seven straight games with seven extra-base hits, 10 RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases. For the season, he's slashing .278/.343/.399 with 10 homers, 54 RBI, 68 runs scored and 21 steals across 472 plate appearances.

Montas did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Brewers, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts over three innings.

Montas entered in the second inning and needed 72 pitches to complete just three innings, though the first two runs he allowed came via an error. It was the 32-year-old's shortest outing of the season, and he now owns a 6.38 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 32:12 K:BB across 36.2 innings. If he returns to the rotation next week, it'll likely be in a home matchup against the Mariners.
