Corbin Carroll LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Hot start continues
Carroll went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk in a 1-0 win against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Carroll's homer was particularly impressive, coming off Tigers ace Tarik Skubal in the opening frame to bring home the game's only run. Over his first 25 plate appearances, the All-Star outfielder is slashing .333/.400/.762 with two long balls, one double, one triple and eight RBI. Carroll has hit safely in five of six contests and has worked a walk in three straight.

Juan Soto LF | NYM
Mets' Juan Soto: Smacks first homer
Soto went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-innings loss to the Cardinals.
Soto opened the scoring with two outs in the sixth inning Wednesday, tucking a 2-0 pitch off the base of the right-field foul pole for his first home run of the season. Soto is off to a strong start at the plate, going 9-for-26 with a .952 OPS and five RBI through six games after slashing .263/.396/.525 with a career-high 43 home runs, 105 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 2025.

Eric Haase C | SF
Giants' Eric Haase: Returns to Giants
Haase signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday.
Haase parted ways with the Giants after posting a .911 OPS over 18 games in the Cactus League, but he'll now return to the organization and provide depth at Triple-A Sacramento. He'd likely be called up to work as a backup in San Francisco if Patrick Bailey or Daniel Susac has to miss time.

Gavin Stone SP | LAD
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Moved to 60-day IL
The Dodgers transferred Stone (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Stone opened the regular season on the 15-day IL after suffering a setback with his surgically repaired right shoulder during spring training. The Dodgers are taking a slow approach to the right-hander's rehab, with manager Dave Roberts relaying to reporters Wednesday that Stone is "starting over a spring ramp-up," and the move to the 60-day IL means he won't be available to make his 2026 debut until at least late May, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. In a corresponding transaction, the Dodgers claimed Grant Holman off waivers from the Diamondbacks.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Giants' Luis Arraez: Three hits, steal in loss
Arraez went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Padres.
Arraez isn't a big contributor in the counting stats, but he's already logged two steals over six games this season. He had a career-best 11 thefts in 154 regular-season contests with the Padres last year. Speed isn't typically something that increases with age, so don't expect the 28-year-old to make a huge impact in that area. He's now batting .304 (7-for-23) with a walk, one RBI and one run scored, with his double Wednesday being his first extra-base hit of the year.

Grant Holman RP | DET
Dodgers' Grant Holman: Claimed by LAD
The Dodgers claimed Holman off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Holman camped with the Diamondbacks in spring training after being designated for assignment by the Athletics in early February, but he was subsequently DFA'd by Arizona after failing to make the team's Opening Day roster. He was reassigned to the minors by the Dodgers after being claimed off waivers and will likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Holman appeared in 22 regular-season games (two starts) for the Athletics in 2025, finishing with a 5.09 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, three holds and a 17:9 K:BB across 23 innings.

Mason Miller RP | SD
Padres' Mason Miller: Logs four-out save
Miller allowed a hit and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Giants.
Miller entered the game with one on and two outs in the eighth inning and shut things down. The Padres proceeded to add four runs in their half of the eighth to give Miller plenty of cushion. This was his second save of the season, and he's added a 5:1 K:BB over 2.1 scoreless innings so far. He is firmly locked into the closer role, and Wednesday's outing shows manager Craig Stammen won't hesitate to ask him to cover more than one frame, if necessary.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jonathan Loaisiga: Secures rare save Wednesday
Loaisiga allowed two hits and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning while picking up the save Wednesday against the Tigers.
Closer Paul Sewald worked each of the last two days and three of the past four for the Diamondbacks, so he was perhaps unavailable for Wednesday's save chance. Loaisiga stepped up for his first save opportunity of the season, netting just his ninth career save, and the hard-throwing right-hander is at least in the mix for high-leverage work with 3.1 scoreless innings and a hold under his belt so far.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Giants' Adrian Houser: Takes loss in season debut
Houser (0-1) allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Padres.
The Giants' defense didn't do Houser any favors, with errors in the first and fifth innings leadings to the first two runs on his line. This was the right-hander's Giants debut, and he threw 58 of 86 pitches for strikes in a decent performance. He signed with San Francisco for two years and $22 million after splitting last season between the Rays and the White Sox, posting a 3.31 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 92:38 K:BB across 125 innings over 21 starts in a bounce-back season. He has a favorable home park, but the Giants' offense hasn't been all that encouraging with just 13 runs scored over six games this season. Houser is tentatively lined up to make his next start at home versus the Phillies next week, which could set him up for a two-start week.

Jose Butto SP | SF
Giants' Jose Butto: Dealing with arm tightness
Butto was removed during the eighth inning of the Giants' 7-1 loss to the Padres on Wednesday due to right arm tightness, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Butto was brought in for the eighth to keep the Giants' deficit at two runs, but he recorded just one out while allowing four runs on three hits and four walks, tossing 28 pitches (eight strikes) before being pulled. The Giants should have an update over the next couple of days once Butto undergoes some tests on his arm.
