The Reds recalled Arroyo from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

With Elly De La Cruz (hamstring) landing on the 10-day injured list, the Reds will bring the 22-year-old Arroyo aboard for his first taste of the big leagues. The switch-hitting infielder had received reps at three different positions during his time at Triple-A, but he'll likely settle in as the Reds' everyday shortstop for the duration of De La Cruz's stint on the shelf. Even before De La Cruz injured his hamstring in Sunday's 6-4 win over Atlanta, Arroyo had already been building a strong case for a promotion by slashing .323/.383/.562 with 11 home runs and nine stolen bases across 248 plate appearances for Louisville. Arroyo is worthy of at least a cursory pickup in most fantasy leagues while a full-time role likely awaits him.

The Reds selected Leibrandt's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Leibrandt holds a 5.23 ERA and 38:14 K:BB over 51.2 innings covering 11 starts with Louisville this season. The 33-year-old southpaw will give the Reds a fresh arm and some length for the bullpen.

The Reds designated Marte for assignment Monday.

Marte was knocked around in his lone outing with the big club, allowing four runs while recording just one out. His spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters will be overtaken by Brandon Leibrandt.

The Reds placed De La Cruz on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right hamstring strain.

De La Cruz sustained the injury during Sunday's win over Atlanta, and a subsequent MRI revealed a strain. While it's unclear what the grade of the strain is, even a mild hamstring strain can result in a longer than minimum absence. It's the first time in his major-league career that De La Cruz has landed on the IL. The Reds are calling up Edwin Arroyo to take De La Cruz's spot on the roster.

Arraez went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 19-6 win over the Rockies.

Arraez drove in runs on sacrifice flies in the fourth and eighth innings, was intentionally walked in the fifth before coming around to score and added an RBI single in the seventh. The 29-year-old infielder had a productive month, slashing .340/.395/.490 with 18 runs scored, 12 RBI, two long balls and a stolen base across 116 plate appearances in May. Overall, he's slashing .321/.363/.422 with 29 runs scored, 23 RBI, five stolen bases and two home runs in 244 plate appearances on the campaign.

Susac went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a double, a walk and an RBI in Sunday's 19-6 win over the Rockies. He was also hit by a pitch.

Susac lined an RBI double to right field in the second inning, scored in the fourth after being hit by a pitch and drew a walk in the eighth before coming around to score again. The 25-year-old catcher has struggled since returning from the injured list, batting .171 with six RBI and three runs scored over his last 10 games (42 plate appearances). Overall, he's slashing .293/.354/.397 with 11 RBI, four doubles and four runs scored across 66 plate appearances this season.

Boyd (knee) struck out two batters and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk across four innings Sunday in a rehab start with Triple-A Iowa.

The southpaw required a meniscectomy on his left knee May 7 but has made a swift recovery from the procedure, as he resumed facing hitters May 22 before receiving the green light to report to Iowa. During Sunday's outing, Boyd tossed 63 pitches (41 strikes) while inducing five whiffs and averaging 93.1 mph with his four-seamer, which was up about a half-tick from his average over five starts with Chicago (92.5 mph). According to Marquee Sports Network, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said he received good feedback from Boyd's rehab start and noted that the lefty is set to rejoin the team in Chicago on Monday. Though Boyd had been expected to make one more rehab start to get further stretched out before returning from the 15-day injured list, the Cubs could elect to activate him early to make an abbreviated start during this weekend's series versus the Giants if he checks out well during his upcoming bullpen session.

Graterol (shoulder) underwent surgery recently for a back injury he suffered while on a rehab assignment, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

The specifics of the procedure aren't clear, but Harris writes that Graterol's return this season is "in jeopardy." Graterol has been working his way back from right shoulder surgery and has not pitched at the big-league level since 2024. The 27-year-old will be a free agent at the end of this season.

The Marlins promoted Cannarella from High-A Beloit to Double-A Pensacola on Monday, FishOnFirst.com reports.

Cannarella missed more than a month of action earlier in the season after fracturing his wrist April 11, but he resumed raking for Beloit upon returning from the 7-day injured list. In his 12 games after being activated, the 22-year-old outfielder earned his promotion to Pensacola after slashing .404/.434/.577 with four extra-base hits while striking out at a 12.3 percent clip over 57 plate appearances.

Cabrera (finger) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Thursday and had been scheduled to throw off the mound Sunday with greater intensity, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs haven't confirmed that Cabrera was in fact able to throw again Sunday, but Montemurro notes that the right-hander was able to use his entire pitch mix during Thursday's session. Cabrera's ability to use his full arsenal suggests that the blister on his right middle finger isn't providing any complications with his off-speed pitches, so the 28-year-old looks like he could have a realistic chance at avoiding a rehab assignment and returning from the 15-day injured list this coming weekend when he's first eligible. If he's deemed ready to go for the Cubs' weekend series with the Giants, Cabrera would presumably replace Jordan Wicks as the team's fifth starter.
