An MRI on Strider's right elbow revealed no ligament damage, and he'll meet with Dr. Keith Meister later Monday before a timeline for his return from the 15-day injured list is established, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The MRI result comes as welcome news, as Strider looks set to avoid another operation on his elbow after requiring Tommy John surgery while in college in 2019 and an internal brace surgery in April 2024. Dr. Meister -- who performed the latter procedure -- will review the MRI results before providing Strider with a road map for his next steps in his recovery from elbow inflammation. Atlanta is expected to have another update on the right-hander's status Tuesday, and a potential timetable for his return from the 15-day injured list could also be provided at that point.

The Cubs designated Nikhazy for assignment Monday.

Nikhazy was a casualty of the Cubs needing to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of right-hander Yosver Zulueta, who was acquired via trade. A waiver claim by the Cubs in late April, Nikhazy has turned in an 8.44 ERA and 30:21 K:BB over 26.2 innings covering six starts and two relief outings with Triple-A Iowa.

The Brewers promoted Adamczewski from High-A Wisconsin to Double-A Biloxi on Monday.

Adamczewski earned the promotion after producing a ridiculous .331/.464/.572 batting line with nine home runs, 10 stolen bases and a 41:40 BB:K in 50 games at Wisconsin. The 21-year-old has made all of his starts in left field this season, but Adamczewski is also capable of handling second base.

The Diamondbacks are expected to reinstate Gurriel (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game against the Angels, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Arizona plans to option outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt to Triple-A Reno to clear a spot on the active roster for Gurriel, who has been shelved since May 23 due to a left hamstring strain. Gurriel looks to have made a full recovery from the injury after making three of his starts in left field during his five-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League last week, going 4-for-16 with a double and a walk during those contests.

The Diamondbacks are expected to option Waldschmidt to Triple-A Reno prior to Monday's game against the Angels, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

With Jordan Lawlar recently coming back from the 60-day IL and Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) on track to return from the 10-day IL this week, Waldschmidt looks like he'll be caught up in a numbers game in the Arizona outfield. Regarded as one of the top prospects in Arizona's system, Waldschmidt submitted an .881 OPS in his first 16 games in the majors following his May 8 promotion, but he's slashed just .180/.231/.262 with a 4.6 percent walk rate and 36.9 percent strikeout rate in his 17 games since. The impending assignment to Reno should enable Waldschmidt to get a mental reset, and if he's able to resume raking in the Pacific Coast League, he may not have to wait long before earning another call-up.

The Diamondbacks outrighted Garcia to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Garcia passed through the waivers process unclaimed after being removed from Arizona's 40-man roster. The 33-year-old accepted an outright assignment by the Diamondbacks in May, and it appears he will again stick around in the organization.

Triple-A Sacramento placed Santos on its 7-day injured list May 26 due to a right adductor strain, MLB.com reports.

Santos maintains a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster but has spent most of the season at Sacramento, with whom he's turned in a 4.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 14 innings across 12 appearances. The righty reliever is projected to return to action for Sacramento in late June or early July.

Foley (shoulder) struck out two over a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

Foley compiled a 2.89 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB in 9.1 innings across his first nine rehab appearances between Sacramento and Single-A San Jose before being shut down earlier this month when he experienced renewed soreness in his right shoulder. The right-hander didn't pitch for eight days before being cleared to resume his rehab assignment over the weekend, and he seems to have come out of Friday's appearance no worse for the wear. Foley appears poised to return from the 60-day injured list and join the Giants bullpen at some point over the next two weeks.

Bader met with Dr. Robert Anderson on June 5 and received a stem-cell injection to address plantar fasciitis in his left foot, MLB.com reports.

Bader will be shut down from baseball activities for the time being while he waits for the shot to take effect and relieve discomfort in his foot. While the Giants have yet to offer a formal timeline for Bader's projected return from the 10-day injured list, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area relays that the veteran outfielder "doesn't sound like" he's close to playing again. The Giants should continue to get by with a platoon of Drew Gilbert and Jonah Cox in center field while Bader is on the shelf.

Pagan (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Saturday and is expected to throw another Monday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

If Pagan comes out of Monday's session without incident, then he could face live hitters as soon as Friday. A separate report on MLB.com indicates the reliever will throw a simulated game/live BP on Tuesday. However the schedule shakes out, Pagan is ramping up activity and could be back with the Reds before the end of June.
