Atlanta released Hernandez on Tuesday.

The right-hander opened the season on the injured list due to a shoulder cyst and was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett in mid-April once he was recovered from the issue. Hernandez struggled to a 5.06 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and 26:19 K:BB over 21.1 innings at Gwinnett and will now hit the open market. He has a 3.38 ERA across 59 regular-season appearances in the big leagues, though his career 1.47 WHIP and 16.7 percent walk rate paint him as a volatile relief option.

Atlanta selected Thomas' contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

The left-hander made his season debut for Gwinnett in late May after completing his rehab from internal brace surgery on his elbow, and he'll now get a look in the majors. Thomas has pitched well at Triple-A with a 1.14 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB across 23.2 innings and should fill a low-leverage relief role while up with Atlanta.

Murphy (0-1) took the loss Monday, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit in the 10th inning as Atlanta fell 7-6 to the Mets. He struck out without walking a batter.

Making his big-league debut in a high-pressure spot, Murphy retired Francisco Lindor and Carson Benge to begin the frame before hitting Jared Young with a pitch and serving up a two-run double to Luis Torrens. The 22-year-old right-hander is in his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2024, and while he's working out of the bullpen for the big club, his future is still expected to be in the rotation -- over 11 starts since a promotion to Triple-A Gwinnett at the beginning of May, Murphy's posted a 3.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB in 60.1 innings.

Albies went 2-for-6 with two doubles and a run scored in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

The 29-year-old has already been voted into the NL starting lineup for the All-Star Game, but Albies isn't resting on his laurels. He's hit safely in five of six games to begin July, batting .259 (7-for-27) with a .667 SLG thanks to five doubles and two homers, to go along with three RBI and seven runs scored.

Griffin has been diagnosed with a torn tendon in his left ring finger and could be sidelined for at least a month, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Griffin injured the finger while making a diving catch during Sunday's game against the Nationals. He remained in the contest to take two more plate appearances, striking out in one and delivering a two-run single in the other. Passan notes Griffin could opt to play through the injury, but the most likely option is to rehab it, which would shelve the shortstop for at least a month. If an absence is required, Griffin could spend about six weeks in a splint and be out until September, per Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com. The Pirates should have more information on Griffin's status prior to Tuesday's contest against Atlanta.

Atlanta placed Kinley on the paternity list Tuesday.

The right-hander will step away from the team for a few days to be with his growing family. Kinley can be on the paternity list for up to three days, so he should be back with Atlanta ahead of Friday's series opener in St. Louis.

Harris went 3-for-6 with a double and two RBI in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

It's the center fielder's fourth straight multi-hit, multi-RBI performance, although Monday was the first time during that surge Harris didn't score a run of his own. He's hit safely in all six July games so far as he states his case to be added to his first career All-Star Game roster, batting .429 (12-for-28) to begin the month with two homers, five runs and 10 RBI.

McCray (hand) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a stolen base during a rehab outing with the Giants' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate in its 17-6 win over the ACL Royals on Monday.

McCray underwent surgery June 4 to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand and began a rehab assignment with the ACL Giants on Monday. The 25-year-old outfielder singled in the third inning before stealing second and later scoring, then hit a two-run shot to right field in the fourth. Before the injury, McCray appeared in 49 games for Triple-A Sacramento, slashing .237/.360/.370 with 38 runs scored, 28 RBI, nine stolen bases and four long balls across 211 plate appearances.

High-A Fort Wayne reinstated Kemp (oblique) from its 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Kemp is finally ready to make his High-A debut after a left oblique injury suffered in the spring shelved him to begin the season. He was activated after allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings across three rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Miles will start Tuesday's game against the Giants, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Miles will be making his third start of the season in what will be his first appearance since last Wednesday, when he fired three scoreless innings as a bulk reliever to pick up a win against the Mets. The 25-year-old may have trouble pitching deep enough to qualify for a possible victory in San Francisco since he hasn't thrown more than 40 pitches in an appearance since early June, but he should still be able to provide Toronto with a few frames to begin the game. Patrick Corbin worked behind Miles in last Wednesday's matchup with the Mets and could do so again Tuesday.
