Conforto hit two of Chicago's eight total home runs in the blowout victory. It was the veteran's first multi-homer performance of the season, and he's now up to seven long balls overall across 56 contests. Conforto is expected to see a short-term increase in playing time with Matt Shaw (hand) recently landing on the injured list, and so far he is off to a strong start.

Swanson is rapidly putting his early season struggles behind him with an impressive power surge in recent weeks. The shortstop went deep twice Tuesday, and he now has three multi-homer performances and six long balls overall across his last 10 games. Swanson set a career high with his three home runs Wednesday, which pushed him up to 16 for the year.

Suzuki went 3-for-5 with a walk, a double, a home run, three RBI and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 23-3 win over the Padres.

The Cubs rattled off 17 hits and eight home runs, and Suzuki was right in the middle of the romp as he recorded his 100th career long ball in the process. The outfielder extended his hitting streak to six games, during which he's batting .423 with three homers and 11 RBI. Suzuki has rounded into form as the summer heats up and has a .999 OPS in 26 contests since the start of June.

Rooker will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a cartilage tear in his left knee, Jason Burke of Roundtable.io reports.

Rooker was re-evaluated Tuesday after making slow progress in his recovery from a bone bruise in his left knee, which has been bothering him since early June. Test results revealed torn cartilage in the 31-year-old's knee, so he'll go under the knife to address the issue, putting an early end to his 2026 campaign. Jonah Heim has been getting regular starts at DH with Rooker on the IL and could now remain in that role for the rest of the year.

Adames (back) remains out of San Francisco's starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

Adames has yet to appear in this series, missing his third consecutive game against Arizona after exiting Sunday's contest in the eighth inning due to lower-back spasms. The recently elevated Christian Koss will take over at shortstop and bat ninth Wednesday for the Giants.

The Giants recalled Koss from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

With Matt Chapman (abdomen) being placed on the injured list, Koss is back with the big-league club for the first time since May 15. Koss made the Opening Day roster for San Francisco but batted just .071/.133/.143 in 15 plate appearances before being demoted. The 28-year-old played in just three games for Sacramento before suffering a fractured wrist. After completing a rehab assignment, Koss has been cleared to return to action and will start Wednesday at shortstop while batting ninth versus the Diamondbacks.

The Giants placed Chapman on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with an abdominal strain, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Chapman had to make an early exit from Tuesday's game against Arizona after suffering the injury, and he's now set to miss at least most, if not all, of what's left of the first half of the season. Christian Koss will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to replenish San Francisco's infield depth and could make a handful of starts while Willy Adames continues to deal with a back injury.

DeLauter went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Rangers.

The rookie right fielder paced the Guardians' 11-hit attack on the afternoon, as DeLauter extended his hit streak to 10 games -- a streak that began in early June, prior to a two-week stint on the IL due to a rib injury. Over four contests since coming off the IL, the 24-year-old has gone 8-for-18 (.444) with three doubles, three runs and four RBI.

Cantillo (7-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The five free passes were a season-worst performance from Cantillo, who tossed just 53 of 93 pitches for strikes, but the left-hander was able to limit the damage as all three hits off him were singles. He's won three of his last four starts while not giving up more than two runs in any of those outings, posting a 1.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB through 24 innings over that stretch. Cantillo will look to tighten things up in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Minnesota.

Gore (5-7) took the loss Wednesday, giving up five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings as the Rangers fell 9-4 to the Guardians. He struck out seven.

All five runs against the southpaw came in the second inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from David Fry, and Texas offense was never able to climb out of the hole. It's the first time since May 7 that Gore has been tagged for more than four runs, but since the beginning of June he's stumbled to a 4.92 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB over 34.2 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Angels.
