Dominic Canzone LF | SEA
Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Taking seat against Skubal
Canzone is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Tigers.
After starting and going 0-for-4 in Saturday's 3-2 loss in 11 innings, the left-handed-hitting Canzone will exit the lineup as the Tigers send ace southpaw Tarik Skubal to the bump. Mitch Garver will replace Canzone in the starting nine, serving as Seattle's designated hitter and batting seventh.

Shota Imanaga RP | CHC
Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Drawing start for Game 2
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said that Imanaga will start Monday in Game 2 of the NLDS against Milwaukee, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Imanaga last pitched Wednesday in a Game 2 wild-card loss to the Padres, throwing 67 pitches across four innings after reliever Andrew Kittredge opened the game. The 31-year-old lefty will move back into a traditional starting role Monday and will look to help the Cubs even the series after a 9-3 loss in Game 1. Imanaga faced Milwaukee three times during the regular season, allowing seven runs with 17 strikeouts and 3 walks across 17.2 innings.

Nathan Lukes RF | TOR
Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Taking seat against southpaw
Lukes is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees.
With southpaw Max Fried toeing the rubber for New York, the left-handed-hitting Lukes will retreat to the bench after he went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Toronto's 10-1 win in Game 1. Myles Straw will spell Lukes in right field for Game 2.

Harrison Bader CF | PHI
Phillies' Harrison Bader: Hopeful for Game 2
An MRI on Bader's left groin didn't reveal a tear or major strain, and the team remains hopeful he'll play in Monday's Game 2 against the Dodgers, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Bader departed Game 1 with what was initially deemed a hamstring strain, but manager Rob Thompson clarified postgame that it's a groin injury. Bader's MRI results are encouraging, as it seems he's avoided a significant injury, and he'll have a shot at returning for Game 2. If he can't go, Brandon Marsh would be the likeliest candidate to start in center field.

Addison Barger SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Idle for Game 2
Barger is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees.
The left-handed-hitting Barger will dodge a matchup with southpaw Max Fried in Game 2. Ernie Clement will slide to third base while Isiah Kiner-Falefa plays second base Sunday.

Anthony Santander RF | TOR
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: On bench for Game 2
Santander is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees.
The switch-hitting Santander hit just .146 with a 36.4 percent strikeout rate over 55 plate appearances against lefties during the season, so he'll take a seat on the bench for Game 2 while the Yankees send southpaw Max Fried to the mound. Toronto will go with a starting outfield of Davis Schneider, Daulton Varsho and Myles Straw from left to right Sunday.

Julio Rodriguez CF | SEA
Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Three hits not enough in loss
Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Saturday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.
The superstar outfielder gave the Mariners the lead on a solo homer in the fourth inning and tied the game with an RBI single in the sixth. He added another single in the 11th, but it ultimately wasn't enough, as aside from Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh, no other Mariners player recorded a hit. Rodriguez should be back in the three hole against lefty Tarik Skubal on Sunday as Seattle attempts to even the series.

Kerry Carpenter RF | DET
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Swats key homer in Game 1 win
Carpenter went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's extra-innings win over the Mariners in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.
Carpenter was the one to break through against Seattle starter George Kirby with a two-run shot in the fifth inning, continuing his career mastery over Kirby (4-for-8 with four homers coming into the night). The 28-year-old Carpenter has hit safely in all four postseason games so far.

Troy Melton P | DET
Tigers' Troy Melton: Impressive showing in Game 1 start
Melton allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Saturday in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.
With his top three starters all unavailable for Game 1, manager A.J. Hinch turned to Melton to head up a bullpen game. The right-hander was efficient with his 57 pitches, at one point retiring seven batters in a row before serving up a solo homer to Julio Rodriguez to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning. Seven relievers followed Melton, including Keider Montero, who earned the save in extras and thus set the Tigers up extremely well with Tarik Skubal slated to start Game 2.

George Kirby SP | SEA
Mariners' George Kirby: One mistake in no-decision
Kirby did not factor into the decision in Saturday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers in Game 1 of the ALDS. He allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out eight over five innings.
Kirby was cruising and appeared to have some of his best command all season, but Kerry Carpenter turned a one-run Detroit deficit into a one-run Tigers lead with his home run with two outs in the fifth inning. The 27-year-old Kirby induced 16 swinging strikes on 94 pitches, extending an impressive run of dominance from September (31 strikeouts in his final 17.1 regular-season innings). He's not assured of another start this postseason, but Kirby lines up to toe the rubber at home Friday in Game 5.
