Wood went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-2 win over Cleveland.

Wood wasted no time making an impact, leading off the game with a 412-foot homer off Tanner Bibee as part of the Nationals' five-homer barrage against the right-hander. The four-hit performance tied a season high for the young star, who continues to be one of the hottest hitters in baseball. Wood has now reached base safely in 10 of his last 11 games while batting .395 (17-for-43) with eight walks during that stretch. On the season, he is slashing .267/.405/.533 with 14 home runs, 14 doubles, 35 RBI, 47 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

Treinen earned a save against the Rockies on Monday by striking out the only batter he faced.

Los Angeles held a 5-3 lead heading into the ninth inning and initially turned to lefty Alex Vesia, who retired two of the three batters he faced. When Colorado decided to send up righty Braxton Fulford as a pinch hitter, the Dodgers countered with the right-handed Treinen. That proved to be a fruitful move, as Treinen needed just four pitches to set Fulford down on strikes. The save was Treinen's first in the regular season since April 9 of last year. He hasn't been in the Dodgers' closer mix even with Edwin Diaz (elbow) out of commission, and Tanner Scott remains the team's most desirable target for saves, though he was likely unavailable Monday after having pitched each of the two previous days.

X-rays on Rumfield's right hand came back negative, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Rumfield, who was forced to depart Monday's matchup against the Dodgers after being hit on the hand by a fastball, appears to have avoided a significant injury. The team isn't sure at this time whether Rumfield will miss additional game action, and he can be considered day-to-day until further notice.

Mead went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday's 10-2 win over Cleveland.

After James Wood opened the game with a leadoff homer, Mead followed shortly after by crushing a two-run shot off Tanner Bibee before Cleveland could even record an out. The third baseman later added another solo homer in the fifth inning to extend Washington's lead, marking his first career multi-homer game. The long balls were his sixth and seventh of the season and he's now homered three times over his last three games. Mead is slashing .241/.353/.491 with eight doubles, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases across 136 plate appearances.

The Cubs outrighted Lopez to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Lopez lost his spot on the 40-man roster Saturday, and after going unclaimed on waivers, he'll stay in the organization and will report to Iowa. He's batting .333 with one home run, eight RBI, two stolen bases and 11 runs scored in 15 appearances so far this season at Triple-A.

Duran picked up the save in Monday's 3-0 victory over the Padres. He allowed a hit and no walks while striking out one over a scoreless inning.

Duran retired the side with minimal resistance, as a Ty France two-out single was all the Padres could muster while the fireballing right-hander secured his 10th save of the campaign. It has largely been dominance in 2026 for Duran, who has allowed runs in just three of his 16 outings, resulting in a 1.72 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB across 15.2 innings with no blown saves. He trails only Mason Miller (16), Riley O'Brien (13) and Paul Sewald (12) on the National League saves leaderboard.

Sheehan allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings in a no-decision against Colorado on Monday.

Sheehan looked like he might have to exit the contest after getting hit on the right arm by a 103.8 mph comebacker in the fourth inning. He made several warmup throws and was visited by manager Dave Roberts twice in the frame but was ultimately allowed to remain in the contest. Sheehan proved to be fine, retiring seven of the final eight batters he faced. Overall, the right-hander registered 17 whiffs and eight punchouts en route to his fourth quality start of the campaign. It's been a bit of an up-and-down season for Sheehan, but he's seems to have established a stable role in Los Angeles' rotation. Through 10 starts, he has a 4.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 59:14 K:BB over 51.2 innings.

Canning (0-3) took the loss Monday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks over 6.2 innings against the Phillies. He struck out five.

Following a first-inning solo homer by Kyle Schwarber, Canning settled in nicely through the middle innings, though his outing ended on a sour note when Brandon Marsh blasted a two-run shot with two outs in the seventh frame. After posting a 12.27 ERA and 2.09 WHIP across 11 innings over his previous three appearances, Monday's outing can be viewed as a step in the right direction for Canning. The right-hander will carry a 7.54 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB through 22.2 innings (five starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Nationals.

Bibee (0-7) took the loss Monday against the Nationals, allowing seven runs on eight hits while striking out three over three innings.

Bibee's search for his first win of the season took a rough turn Monday, as he surrendered a career-high five home runs, which accounted for all seven runs he allowed. The right-hander had done a solid job limiting the long ball entering the outing, giving up only four homers total across his previous 10 starts. Prior to this blowup, Bibee had posted a strong 2.59 ERA over his last seven outings while allowing two or fewer runs in all but two of them. He now owns a 4.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 55:21 K:BB across 63 innings and will once again look for his first win of 2026 in his next scheduled start against Boston.

Luzardo (4-4) earned the win Monday, allowing four hits, two walks and a hit batsman over six scoreless innings in a 3-0 victory over the Padres. He struck out six.

Luzardo found himself in a bases-loaded jam with no outs in the first inning, but he escaped unscathed by striking out Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill before inducing a weak groundout from Nick Castellanos. From there, Luzardo was able to navigate the remainder of the outing effectively en route to his third scoreless start of the season. The southpaw will carry a 4.38 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 72:17 K:BB across 61.2 innings (11 starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Dodgers.
