Mize (2-3) allowed two runs on four hits across 6.2 innings and took the loss in Thursday's 3-1 defeat to the Guardians. He struck out four and didn't walk anyone.

Making his second start after missing a few weeks due to an adductor strain, Mize pitched well once again but got little run support and was outdueled by Joey Cantillo and the Cleveland bullpen. While he doesn't have the wins to show for it yet, Mize has been sharp this year with a 2.47 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 43.2 innings across eight starts. The righty will look to keep up his strong play in his next outing, which should come against the Angels at home next week.

Stevens had his contract selected from Triple-A Albuquerque and is starting Thursday's contest at second base against the Diamondbacks.

Stevens will join the big-league club after posting an impressive .362 average with three home runs, 25 RBI, 31 runs scored and six stolen bases in 40 contests with Triple-A Albuquerque this season. The 27-year-old will make his Rockies debut at second base, batting ninth in the series opener at Arizona. In order to make room on the 40-man roster for Stevens, left-handed pitcher Carson Palmquist was designated for assignment, and Brenton Doyle (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list.

Gaddis picked up the save in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Tigers, allowing one hit while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

With closer Cade Smith working the previous two days, it was Gaddis who was called upon to close out a two-run lead in the ninth Thursday. The right-hander worked around a two-out single to finish off Cleveland's four-game sweep of the Tigers while locking down his first save this season. Gaddis was shaky early in the year following a stint on the IL with forearm tightness, but he's turned things around of late, allowing just one run on five hits in his last seven appearances (6.1 innings). Overall, his ERA sits at 5.25 with a 1.75 WHIP and 10:6 K:BB across 12 innings this year.

Cantillo (4-1) earned the win Thursday over the Tigers, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out six across 5.2 scoreless innings.

It's the third win in four starts for Cantillo, who's posted a 2.05 ERA in that span. The left-hander's lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season with a 1.32 WHIP and 51:27 K:BB across 11 starts (56 innings). Cantillo will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for next week at home against the Nationals.

Peralta was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Peralta will head back to Albuquerque after serving as the Rockies' opener in Tuesday's 10-0 loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out a batter and hitting another over two-thirds of an inning. In corresponding move, Blas Castano was recalled from Triple-A to replace Peralta in the big-league bullpen.

Castano was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Castano will return to the big-league club just a few days after being sent down to Albuquerque on Monday. The right-hander will replace Sammy Peralta in the Rockies' bullpen after Peralta was optioned to Triple-A.

Doyle (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to May 20.

Doyle was set to miss a second straight contest Thursday, but he's now headed to the IL while nursing a left oblique contusion that he suffered in Tuesday's 10-0 loss to Texas. The outfielder will be eligible to return to action May 30. In the meantime, Mickey Moniak could enter the lineup against southpaws while Jake McCarthy handles the lion's share of the workload in center field.

Williams secured the save Thursday against the Nationals, allowing one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.

Williams let the possible tying run get into scoring position via a Daylen Lile double but held on to preserve a one-run win for the Mets on Thursday. That's now 10 consecutive scoreless outings for the right-hander, who has nailed down five straight save opportunities. Williams' stats are still recovering from a brutal start to the year, as he now has a 4.32 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 25:8 K:BB over 16.2 innings while converting seven of his eight save chances.

Anthony (wrist) was shut down through at least next Thursday before the Red Sox re-evaluate him, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Anthony was set to take the next step in his progression earlier this week but suffered a setback, as he felt lingering soreness when swinging a bat Monday. After receiving a cortisone injection, the outfielder had begun throwing before he tested the wrist by taking swings.

Cavalli (2-3) took the loss Thursday against the Mets, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out nine.

The Mets did all their damage in the third inning, scratching across a pair of runs in the frame, but Cavalli otherwise cruised Thursday. The 27-year-old right-hander surrendered no extra-base hits and fanned at least eight batters for the fourth time in his past six starts. The 2020 first-round pick is coming into his own a bit in 2026, posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 61:19 K:BB across 53.2 frames. Cavalli will be hoping to keep up his recent hot streak in the strikeout department his next time out versus Cleveland.
