Clarke (foot) is slated to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton on Saturday, Jason Burke of SI.com reports.

Clarke has been on the IL since April 22 due to a deep bone bruise in his right foot. He's progressed enough in his recovery to begin playing in games again, and Stockton announced that he's expected to play with the team both Saturday and Sunday. Clarke had been struggling for the A's before getting hurt, posting a meager .417 OPS with no homers, six RBI, two stolen bases and a 40 percent strikeout rate through 22 games.

Jackson opted out of his minor-league contract with the Mets on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Since signing a minor-league deal with the Mets in early April, Jackson has posted a 7.04 ERA and 1.83 WHIP in 7.2 innings over nine appearances split between Single-A and Triple-A. A major-league opportunity with the Mets wasn't likely to come soon, so the 34-year-old will now explore his other options in free agency. That said, he will likely have to settle for another minor-league deal in order to extend his career.

Smith is out of the lineup for Saturday's matchup against Texas, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Smith started 12 straight games from April 30 to May 12, but he's now sitting for the second time in Houston's past four contests. The 23-year-old outfielder has been struggling mightily of late, batting .069 (2-for-29) with no extra-base hits or RBI over his past 10 games. Zach Cole is starting in right field for the Astros on Saturday.

The Brewers selected Strzelecki's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Strzelecki returned to the Brewers on a minor-league deal during the offseason and has begun the 2026 campaign by posting a 3.92 ERA and 1.19 WHIP alongside a 21:4 K:BB through 20.2 innings in Triple-A. The 31-year-old righty will now return to the majors for the first time since 2024 and will presumably take on a middle-relief role with the Brewers.

The Brewers optioned Crow to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

The Brewers won't need Crow's services beyond the spot start he made Friday, so they'll send him back to the minors in favor of Peter Strzelecki, who will provide extra bullpen depth. There's still a strong chance Crow will be promoted for future starts this year, however, as he owns a 2.61 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in 10.1 innings through his first two starts in the majors.

The Mets recalled Gerber from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

With Clay Holmes (fibula) beginning what figures to be a long stay on the injured list, Gerber will return to the big leagues in a corresponding move to add depth to the Mets' bullpen. The 29-year-old owns an unsightly 8.10 ERA through 10 innings at Triple-A this year, but he struck out five batters across two shutout frames during his lone MLB outing of the season.

The Mets placed Holmes (fibula) on the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Holmes suffered a fractured fibula during Friday's game after getting hit on the leg by a comebacker. Manager Carlos Mendoza said after the game that the right-hander's injury will keep him out for "a long time," but he won't need to undergo surgery to address the issue and isn't expected to miss the rest of the season, per Laura Albanese of Newsday. No replacement has been named to take over Holmes' spot in the rotation just yet, but Joey Gerber will come up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move to add depth to New York's bullpen.

Narvaez isn't starting Saturday versus Atlanta.

It's a routine day off for Narvaez, who started each of Boston's previous two games. Connor Wong (ankle) remains sidelined, so Mickey Gasper is starting behind the plate for the Red Sox on Saturday.

Stephenson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Stephenson will pick out a seat on the bench Saturday after going 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly during Cincinnati's win in Friday's contest. Jose Trevino will start behind the dish and bat eighth while Stephenson rests.

Keaschall isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Keaschall will get a chance to rest his legs Saturday after beginning May with a .244/.404/.341 slash line while starting all 13 games this month. While Keaschall sits, Tristan Gray will get the nod at second base and bat eighth.
