Lowe went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Sunday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Lowe has gone 8-for-25 (.320) with two home runs and seven RBI over six games since the All-Star break. While he's still in a part-time role, he's heating up with the bat, which could help him carve out more playing time in a battle with Eugenio Suarez and others. He could also benefit from Spencer Steer's wrist injury, which forced his removal from Sunday's contest. Ultimately, Lowe is expected to be moved by the trade deadline next week. Overall, Lowe is batting .256 with an .808 OPS, 12 home runs, 33 RBI, 23 runs scored, 13 doubles and no stolen bases over 249 plate appearances, mainly as a strong-side platoon option.

The Red Sox activated Mead following Sunday's 6-1 win over Toronto.

After being acquired from the Nationals earlier Sunday, Mead will be available to make his team debut Monday against the Athletics in Sacramento. The 25-year-old is expected to work primarily at second base with his new squad, even though he made just one of his 62 starts with Washington at that position. Mead had enjoyed a breakout campaign with the Nationals, posting a career-high .254 average with 17 home runs, 48 RBI, 49 runs scored and six stolen bases over 87 contests. Boston optioned infielder Tsung-Che Cheng to Triple-A Worcester to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Mead.

Hayes went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Hayes has gone 4-for-22 over 10 games since he returned from a bulging disc in his back. The third baseman has settled back into a part-time role, battling for playing time with Eugenio Suarez and Sal Stewart at the hot corner. Hayes is hitting a meager .148 with a .443 OPS, three home runs, six RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base over 152 plate appearances this season.

De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

De La Cruz has 18 homers on the year, including five over his last 14 games. In that span, he's batting .321 (18-for-56) with six RBI and five stolen bases. The shortstop continues to be a strong all-around presence atop the Reds' lineup. He's batting .278 with an .860 OPS, 18 homers, 18 steals, 47 RBI, 58 runs scored, 15 doubles and four triples over 85 contests.

Triple-A Indianapolis placed Curtis on its 7-day injured list Saturday due to a side discomfort, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Curtis presumably sustained the injury during his 3.2-inning relief appearance with Indianapolis on Friday. The right-hander had just been optioned to Triple-A last weekend after he made his MLB debut with the Pirates shortly after the All-Star break.

Garcia allowed an unearned run on two hits and struck out one over one inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-3 extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

Emilio Pagan wasn't utilized in this game despite not pitching Saturday, though he had worked three of the four days between Tuesday and Friday. Other high-leverage relievers like Pierce Johnson and Tejay Antone were deployed earlier in the contest. Garcia didn't make it easy, but he was able to protect the lead to pick up his first major-league save. He's done a fine job in a lower-leverage role so far with a 2.93 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB through 15.1 innings, though he has been scored upon in five of his 11 games. At this time, Garcia doesn't look to be a threat to Pagan's closing role, but the former could see his outings start to come later in games if he continues to pitch well.

Jebb (thumb) has gone 5-for-9 with two home runs and five RBI in two games for Triple-A Indianapolis since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday.

Jebb had been on the shelf since April 28 after fracturing and suffering ligament damage to his left thumb and undergoing surgery. The 24-year-old hasn't needed much time to rediscover his power stroke upon returning to action at Indianapolis and has now slugged four home runs in eight Triple-A games this season.

Cheng was optioned to Triple-A Worcester after Sunday's 6-1 win over the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Cheng will head down to Triple-A to make room for Curtis Mead's activation ahead of Mead's debut with Boston on Monday. Cheng posted a .256 average with a double, five RBI and seven runs scored over 39 at-bats in 14 contests with the Red Sox following his promotion June 26, and he will likely get another shot with the big-league club relatively soon.

Kilby (hamstring) has gone 4-for-11 with a home run, a double, two walks, two runs and five RBI in three games for Single-A Tampa since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Friday.

Kilby had been on the shelf since April 3 due to a hamstring strain. The No. 39 overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, Kilby quickly established himself as one of the Yankees' top lower-level prospects last season after producing an .898 OPS with more walks (13 ) than strikeouts (11) to go with 16 steals in 18 games at Tampa.

Abbott allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.

Abbott has a 24:14 K:BB across 27 innings over his five starts in July, allowing 12 runs (11 earned) in that span. He's been able to limit the damage since he hasn't given up more than five hits in any start this month, but that hasn't been enough to earn him a win. The southpaw is at a 3.85 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 94:54 K:BB through 117 innings over 22 starts. Those 54 walks are already a career high, and it doesn't help that he's posted a career-worst 7.2 K/9. Abbott's next start is projected to be at home versus the Pirates.
