Hoerner (neck) is not in the Cubs' starting lineup against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Hoerner left Friday's game against Arizona due to neck tightness, and the injury will keep the veteran second baseman on the bench for Saturday's matinee. Matt Shaw will start at the keystone and bat eighth against right-hander Ryne Nelson.

Narvaez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Narvaez will get a chance to rest Saturday after going 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win. Connor Wong will take over behind the plate and bat eighth.

Heineman isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Minnesota.

After starting the season with a .188 batting average and .423 OPS through 20 games, Heineman will take a seat on the bench for the third time in Toronto's last four games while Brandon Valenzuela starts at catcher.

Arraez went 1-for-4 with a double in Friday's 3-0 loss to the Rays.

Arraez accounted for the Giants' lone extra-base hit with a double in the fourth inning, though he was thrown out attempting to stretch it into a triple. The 29-year-old infielder has recorded at least one hit in eight of the last 10 games, batting .300 with five RBI, three doubles, two stolen bases and a run scored in 42 plate appearances during that span. He's slashing .303/.331/.369 with 11 RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases across 132 plate appearances on the campaign.

Bernardino will serve as the Rockies' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

The Rockies have typically used an opener in front of right-hander Chase Dollander this season, and the team will call upon Bernardino to handle those duties Saturday. The 34-year-old southpaw has been one of the most effective members of Colorado's entire pitching staff this season, turning in a 0.71 ERA and 1.03 WHIP through 12.2 innings. He'll likely work just an inning or two before giving way to Dollander.

Torrens signed a two-year, $11.5 million contract extension with the Mets on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Torrens' extension will ensure that he sticks with the Mets through the 2028 season. The 30-year-old backstop has struggled at the plate this season, logging a .467 OPS through 31 plate appearances, but he makes up for his lack of offensive production with his incredible defensive skills. He'll likely continue serving as a backup to Francisco Alvarez as long as the two are both in Queens.

The Pirates optioned Yorke to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday.

The 24-year-old will be pushed off the active roster as a result of Jared Triolo's (knee) return from the injured list. Yorke has slashed .221/.308/.309 in the majors this season while adding a home run, six RBI and six runs scored through 78 plate appearances. His defensive versatility will make it easier for him to return to the majors later this year if Pittsburgh's depth is tested.

The Pirates reinstated Triolo (knee) from the injured list, but he is not in the team's starting lineup against the Reds on Saturday.

Triolo has been sidelined by a right patellar tendon injury since April 5. He's spent the past week in the minors on a rehab assignment, during which he went 5-for-18 with a homer, three RBI, four runs scored and a steal. Now fully healthy, the 28-year-old will likely compete for playing time at the hot corner with Nick Gonzales, who is batting .457 (21-for-46) over his last 12 games and will remain in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's matinee. Nick Yorke was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Gibson joined the Orioles' taxi squad Saturday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The Orioles haven't announced a starter for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, and Gibson joining the big club in the Bronx on Saturday is a sign that he'll end up getting the nod to make his MLB debut. The 23-year-old righty has made six starts this season at Triple-A Norfolk and owns a 4.01 ERA and 1.65 WHIP as well as a 25:12 K:BB through 24.2 innings.

Strahm allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two over a scoreless inning in Friday's win against the Mariners.

Strahm entered with a one-run lead in the eighth inning and worked a clean frame to record his eighth hold of the season. The southpaw has logged nine scoreless outings across 12 appearances in 2026. Across 11.2 innings, the 34-year-old owns a 3.86 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 14:6 K:BB and has served as one of the Royals' top high-leverage arms, though the ninth inning has belonged to Lucas Erceg while Carlos Estevez (foot) has been sidelined.
