Chase Burns SP | CIN
Reds' Chase Burns: Strong in 12th win
Burns (12-1) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six over five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Tuesday.
Burns dealt with a groin issue in his last start, but the All-Star break gave him enough time to recover. He responded with his sixth scoreless outing in 19 starts this season. The right-hander, who signed a seven-year extension during the break, is looking like a future ace for the Reds. He's recorded a 2.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 124:39 K:BB through 107.2 innings this season. Burns is projected to make his next start at home versus the Guardians.

Alec Burleson 1B | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Racks up three more hits
Burleson went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Angels.
Burleson has gone 9-for-21 (.429) over five games since the All-Star break. He doesn't have an extra-base hit and has added just two RBI in that span. The first baseman is batting .282 with an .809 OPS on the year, and he's supplied 15 home runs, 69 RBI, 53 runs scored, 23 doubles, one triple and three stolen bases over 99 contests as a consistent part of the Cardinals' lineup.

Jordan Romano RP | COL
Rockies' Jordan Romano: Picks up seventh save
Romano earned a save against the Nationals on Tuesday, striking out two batters over one perfect inning.
Every inning before the ninth featured at least one run by one or both teams, so Romano's task protecting an 8-7 lead didn't look like it would be an easy one. However, the veteran reliever made quick work of the three batters he faced, retiring the side on just 11 pitches. Romano has three saves in six appearances since making his Rockies debut July 4, so he appears to be the team's first choice to close games. Though he still carries a 6.59 ERA overall this season, Romano has surrendered just one run over 5.2 frames with Colorado.

Matthew Liberatore SP | STL
Cardinals' Matthew Liberatore: Blitzed early in loss
Liberatore (5-7) allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out seven over 5.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Angels.
Liberatore gave up all five runs in the first inning before settling down to avoid overtaxing the bullpen. He's shown some flashes this year, but inconsistency has been a prominent theme -- he's allowed at least four runs in six of his last eight outings. Overall, the southpaw has a 5.18 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 95:38 K:BB through 99 innings over 20 starts. Liberatore's next start is projected to be at home versus the Cubs early next week since the Cardinals are opting to temporarily go to a six-man rotation this week.

Jo Adell RF | CLE
Angels' Jo Adell: Goes yard again
Adell went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Cardinals.
Adell has homered in consecutive games and is up to four long balls over his last 10 contests. The outfielder put a bow on the Angels' five-run first inning in Tuesday's win. While he's nowhere near his power numbers from last year, Adell is batting .243 with a .691 OPS, 15 homers, 57 RBI, 44 runs scored and three stolen bases through 101 contests in 2026.

Michael Lorenzen SP | COL
Rockies' Michael Lorenzen: Hit hard by Nationals
Lorenzen allowed six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 3.2 innings in a no-decision against Washington on Tuesday.
It was a typical Coors Field contest, as the only inning during which neither team scored was the ninth. Lorenzen had his fair share of bumps, and he was particularly tormented by CJ Abrams, who took him deep twice. However, the right-handed hurler managed to avoid a loss thanks to a big day by Colorado's offense. Lorenzen needed 80 pitches to get through only 3.2 frames, marking the sixth time this season he's failed to complete four innings (though one instance came in his lone relief appearance). He's at an ugly 6.53 ERA on the campaign, though Colorado's lack of other rotation options means Lorenzen probably isn't currently at risk of losing his starting role.

Walbert Urena SP | LAA
Angels' Walbert Urena: Posts quality start in sixth win
Urena (6-7) allowed one run on six hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Urena had fallen short of the six-inning mark in each of his last four starts, though he gave up a modest eight runs over 19 innings in that span. The rookie right-hander was able to limit the damage to a single run in the fifth inning Tuesday after running into a little trouble. He has a 2.78 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 83:47 K:BB through 87.1 innings over 18 games (16 starts) this season. Urena is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Astros. Considering he threw 145 innings across two levels of the minors in 2025, Urena doesn't appear to be on track for any significant workload limitations over the remainder of the campaign.

Tyler Alexander RP | TEX
Rangers' Tyler Alexander: Working as opener Wednesday
Alexander will serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
Alexander has given up three earned runs across his last 1.1 innings, but the Rangers will use him as their opener Wednesday to combat the top half of Chicago's batting order, which is often stacked with lefties. Cal Quantrill is expected to handle bulk-relief duties once Alexander exits the game.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Powers offense to victory
Paredes went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 5-3 win against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Paredes provided the bulk of Houston's scoring with a three-run shot to left field in the fifth inning. The blast snapped a 10-game homerless stretch for the third baseman, though he's otherwise been hitting quite well. Through 15 contests in July, Paredes is batting .310 (18-for-58), albeit with a modest five extra-base hits, six runs and eight RBI.

Tyler Phillips RP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Falls to Astros
Phillips (2-5) completed 4.1 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out two batters in a loss to Houston on Tuesday.
Phillips fell behind quickly, giving up a leadoff homer to Jeremy Pena in the bottom of the first inning. The righty hurler got through the third and fourth frames facing the minimum six batters, but he was pulled with one out in the fifth and was charged with an additional run, which was unearned, following his departure. While his final line wasn't entirely disastrous, Phillips managed just two punchouts and saw his season record drop to 2-5. He's lined up for a tough matchup against Philadelphia his next time out.
