Naylor is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Yankees due to right wrist soreness, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Naylor tweaked the wrist on a swing during the Mariners' previous homestand and will get the night off Tuesday versus Yankees lefty Ryan Weathers. Weston Wilson is starting at first base and batting eighth for Seattle. Since the All-Star break, Naylor is slashing .312/.376/.455 with five doubles, two homers, six RBI, nine runs scored, five stolen bases and a 7:10 BB:K across 85 plate appearances.

Young is not in Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta.

Despite going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored during Monday's series opener, Young will ride the pine Tuesday. Gabriel Arias will make his first start at first base and bat ninth for the Mets.

The Astros optioned Meyers to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports.

With Nelson Velazquez joining Houston, Meyers is the odd man out in the outfield mix. After hitting .292 with a .727 OPS in 2025, Meyers has appeared in 54 games with the Astros this season but has slashed an ugly .213/.268/.326 with three homers, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored, one stolen base and a 10:31 BB:K across 153 plate appearances.

The Rockies recalled Veen from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Veen will join the big club for the first time in 2026 after he logged 37 plate appearances with the Rockies last season. The 24-year-old has been productive at Albuquerque in 2026, slashing .327/.402/.635 with 24 home runs and 19 stolen bases across 445 plate appearances. The Rockies designated Edouard Julien for assignment to make room on the active roster for Veen, who could be a candidate to fill the strong side of a platoon in the corner outfield.

Church is out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Phillies.

With Philadelphia sending southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the hill on Tuesday, the left-handed-hitting Church will ride the pine. Everson Pereira will make his first start in center field and bat eighth for the Cardinals.

Philadelphia demoted Rangel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Rangel was roughed up in his lone outing Monday since returning to the big-league club on August 9. The right-hander went 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three against St. Louis. The Phillies elevated Alex McFarlane to replace Rangel on the active roster.

The Tigers released Gentry on Tuesday, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

The 27-year-old outfielder has spent the entire season at Triple-A Toledo, where he slashed .250/.349/.417 with nine home runs, 48 RBI, 23 runs scored, seven stolen bases and a 29:59 BB:K across 278 trips to the plate. Gentry last appeared in the majors in 2024 with the Royals.

Philadelphia recalled McFarlane from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

McFarlane will begin his second stint with the big-league club this season after being recalled Tuesday. The 25-year-old most recently appeared at the big-league level July 22, recording a scoreless inning against the Dodgers. The right-hander has dazzled with Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley, pitching to a 1.83 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 55:20 K:BB in 39.1 innings. The Phillies optioned Alan Rangel to Lehigh Valley to open a spot on the 26-man roster.

Yesavage (knee) underwent surgery to repair his torn meniscus Tuesday and is considered week-to-week, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Manager John Schneider said the Blue Jays haven't ruled out Yesavage for the remainder of the 2026 season. The 23-year-old has been limited to 18 big-league starts this season due to shoulder and knee injuries. He's posted a 3.65 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 91:46 K:BB across 93.2 innings and is in the 91st percentile in expected opponent batting average (.200).

Benintendi is absent from Tuesday's lineup against the Reds.

With southpaw Nick Lodolo taking the ball for the Reds on Tuesday, the left-handed-hitting Benintendi will sit out his second consecutive game. Colson Montgomery will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth for the White Sox.
