Hicks is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Athletics.

Lefty Jacob Lopez is starting for the Athletics, marking the first time the Rays have faced a southpaw since the left-handed-hitting Hicks joined the club. Nick Fortes will grab a start at catcher while Hicks rests.

The Rockies recalled Norby from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

He'll be joining the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Tyler Freeman (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Before being traded to the Rockies a week ago, Norby appeared in 65 games at the big-league level for the Marlins this season and slashed .203/.313/.325 with six steals and four home runs across 233 plate appearances. Norby played exclusively at third base and first base during his time at Miami, but he's also seen reps at second base and in left field at the Triple-A level this season.

Mullins is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics.

The left-handed-hitting Mullins starts against some lefties, but he'll take a seat Monday as the A's send southpaw Jacob Lopez to the bump. Jonny DeLuca will patrol center field.

The Rockies placed Freeman on the 10-day injured list Monday due to lumbar pain.

Freeman will hit the IL for the second time this season as a result of a back issue. The earliest he can return is Aug. 19, but he'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury before the Rockies have a better feel for when he might be ready for activation. The Rockies recalled infielder Connor Norby from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Susac has been diagnosed with a left knee patella fracture, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Susac suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his knee during Sunday's game versus the Tigers. The initial prognosis was a contusion, but an MRI revealed a fracture. Susac will meet with doctors Tuesday to determine the next course of action, but it's likely the injury ends his season. With Jesus Rodriguez (elbow) also sidelined, Drew Cavanaugh is the only healthy catcher on the Giants' 40-man roster.

Rivero (hand) was returned from his rehab assignment Monday.

Rivero appeared in five minor-league games as part of his rehab assignment, going 1-for-14 in that span. It's unclear whether he's suffered a setback or is ready to return to action. If he's cleared to be taken off the IL, then Rivero would likely be optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake, given that the Angels carry three catchers on the 26-man roster in Tyler Heineman, Travis d'Arnaud and Moises Ballesteros.

Ortiz (back) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in San Diego.

Ortiz will miss a second straight start with an upper-back injury. He's being considered day-to-day but appears to be trending in the right direction. Ortiz was able to do some running on the field before Monday's game, and he mentioned that he'd be available off the bench if needed, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. David Hamilton will again slide over to shortstop, while Andrew Vaughn will grab a start at third base.

The Angels placed Anderson on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right shoulder inflammation.

The injury may have cropped during his last appearance Sunday, when he allowed six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two in one inning of relief against the Marlins. A minimum stint on the IL would have Anderson back in action in late August, though he'll undergo more tests on his throwing shoulder to help shape a recovery timeline. The Angels selected Sammy Peralta's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Harper is in the designated hitter spot Monday in St. Louis due to nagging knee soreness that's worsened since he moved to right field, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports.

Harper fouled a ball off his knee before the All-Star break and hasn't been able to get over the hump with the injury. The soreness is not bad enough to prevent Harper from playing, but it's possible his time in the outfield will be limited until the discomfort goes away. Derek Hill is playing right field and Kyle Schwarber is getting a start at first base for the Phillies in Monday's series opener.

The Angels selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Peralta signed a minor-league contract with the Angels in late June and will now work out the team's bullpen after Shaun Anderson (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. The left-hander's numbers across 15 games with Salt Lake haven't been great, as he has a 9.37 ERA and 2.05 WHIP over 16.1 innings.
