Arrighetti (foot) suffered an injury and was removed from his minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo in the third inning, Thomas Hall of The Jays Nation reports.

Arrighetti appeared to tweak his troublesome right foot with one out in the top of the third inning, and he was forced to exit as a result. The right-hander has been on the 15-day injured list since July 25 while battling nerve irritation in his right foot, and he was making the first start of his minor-league rehab assignment Thursday. More information on Arrighetti's status will likely be provided in the near future, but he certainly appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery.

Valdez (7-7) earned the win Thursday over the Mariners, allowing five hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Valdez has now gone seven frames in back-to-back starts while giving up just four runs across 19 innings in his last three outings -- he had struggled to a 7.71 ERA across 18.2 frames in his previous four starts. Valdez has lowered his ERA to 4.17 across 127.1 innings this season with a 1.37 WHIP and 103:45 K:BB. He's currently slated to face the Guardians at home his next time out.

McGonigle went 2-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and two additional runs scored in Thursday's 11-0 win over the Mariners.

McGonigle snapped a mini 0-for-12 slump with his second multi-hit performance in five games this month. The rookie is also starting to showcase his power a bit more recently, as he has three home runs across his last six contests to give him 12 long balls on the season. McGonigle appears to be the heavy favorite for AL Rookie of the Year honors at this point, and the 21-year-old's long-term fantasy value continues to climb.

Dingler went 3-for-6 with a home run, an additional run scored and three total RBI in Thursday's 11-0 win over the Mariners.

Dingler continued his impressive power surge as he led Detroit's offensive onslaught Thursday. The slugging backstop has gone deep in three straight games and has four homers across his last six contests, pushing him up to 26 for the season. Dingler came into the year with 14 career long balls at the MLB level, so he has certainly exceeded expectations in 2026. The 27-year-old ranks second in the majors in home runs among catchers and leads his position group with 78 RBI.

Thornton (5-4) worked around a walk to pitch a scoreless inning of relief and earn the win in Thursday's 3-2, extra-innings victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out one.

Thornton was the last of five Chicago pitchers to take the mound Thursday, working the top of the 11th inning in a 2-2 tie. The righty picked up the win when Pete Crow-Armstrong stole third base and came around to score on a throwing error in the bottom of the 11th. Thornton has been solid this year with a 2.78 ERA across 35.2 innings, but he's in a crowded back-end mix that features Jacob Webb and the newly acquired Ryan Zeferjahn. Daniel Palencia (elbow) should also be back from the injured list in the near future.

Campusano is not in the lineup Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Campusano went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Wednesday's 10-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. He'll get a chance to reset on the bench Thursday as Freddy Fermin gets the start behind the plate and bats eighth.

Crow-Armstrong went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 3-2, extra-innings win over the Blue Jays.

A day after going deep twice to get to 26 home runs on the season, Crow-Armstrong swiped his 29th bag of the year. It was a critical steal, too, as he nabbed third base in the bottom of the 11th inning with the game tied 2-2, then came around to score the winning run on a throwing error. The star outfielder is closing in on his second straight 30-30 campaign, and he's currently among the top 10 in the majors in both categories. Crow-Armstrong is on an absolute tear, and if he keeps this up, he could be the Cubs' first MVP winner since Kris Bryant back in 2016.

Sheets is in the lineup Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Arizona has southpaw Kohl Drake taking the mound Thursday, which usually means the left-handed hitting Sheets would take a seat. It's the 30-year-old's second start versus a lefty since July 2. He has a .376 OPS in 17 games since the All-Star break.

Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 3-2, extra-innings win over the Blue Jays. He also stole a base.

Chicago was scoreless with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning when Bregman gave the team a huge jolt, clubbing his 12th home run of the season off stingy Toronto closer Louis Varland to tie the game at 2-2. The veteran third baseman is now sporting a .766 OPS across six games this month. For his career, Bregman has a .955 OPS in August, which is his best of any month, so a hot streak could be just around the corner.

Wilcox left Thursday's game versus the Tigers due to left oblique tightness.

Wilcox came on in relief with one out in the top of the seventh. He gave up three earned runs on a homer after allowing two singles. Given the nature of the injury, it can be expected that the right-hander will land on the injured list.
