Sanders earned the save in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Astros, striking out one in a perfect 11th inning.

Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said after Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Brewers that Lopez will get his right ring finger tested after a ground ball "got the nail pretty good," Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Lopez took a ground ball to his right ring finger in the second inning of Saturday's game. He was able to stay in the contest, but he'll undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury. Leo Jimenez and Javier Sanoja could see some reps at shortstop if Lopez were to miss time.

The Athletics announced that Gelof will begin baseball activities once the stitches on his right knee are removed Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Gelof landed on the 10-day injured list July 10 right due to a right knee laceration. He'll ramp up his rehab program once the stitches in his knee are removed, and if Gelof responds well to workouts, he could bypass a rehab assignment before returning from the IL. Before hitting the shelf, Gelof slashed .273/.327/.476 with 11 home runs, eight steals, 41 runs and 29 RBI across 247 plate appearances with the Athletics.

Pfaadt (4-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Pfaadt opened with five scoreless innings before allowing two runs in the sixth, limiting the Cardinals to only five hard-hit balls despite generating just three whiffs on 87 pitches. The 27-year-old has been steady in four games since re-entering the rotation June 30, going 4-0 while completing at least five frames in each outing and allowing just five total earned runs over that span. He'll take a 4.58 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 44:18 K:BB across 59 innings this season into a road rematch with St. Louis next week.

May (5-7) took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing five runs on eight hits and four walks with six strikeouts over five innings.

May yielded runs in three separate frames, issuing four walks for the second straight contest while generating 10 swinging strikes on 98 pitches. It was the first time the 28-year-old completed five frames in five turns since tossing a complete-game shutout June 15, a stretch that has included three outings with five or more earned runs allowed. He'll carry a 4.78 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 95:32 K:BB across 98 innings this season into a home rematch with Arizona next week.

The Athletics announced Saturday that Kurtz remains limited to participating in range-of-motion and strengthening exercises during his rehab for a right thumb capsule sprain, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Kurtz was placed on the 10-day IL on July 11 due to the injury and will be without a clear timeline for a return until he's able to resume taking part in baseball activities. In the meantime, Tommy White, Jonah Heim and Jeff McNeil could all be candidates to pick up reps at first base in Kurtz's absence.

Winn went 1-for-2 with a walk, one RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. He was also hit by a pitch.

Winn had a productive sixth inning, driving in a run on a groundout before swiping second base. The shortstop has opened the second half with a bang, reaching base five times and driving in four runs in two games since returning from the All-Star break. For the year, he's slashing .246/.321/.333 with four homers, 42 RBI, 39 runs scored and eight steals across 365 plate appearances.

Sewald earned the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals, allowing one run on one hit and no walks with two strikeouts in the ninth inning.

Sewald was called upon to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning and did so despite surrendering a solo home run to Jimmy Crooks. The 36-year-old righty has now converted 14 straight save chances dating back to May 17, though he's allowed at least one earned run in six of his past 10 appearances. On the season, he's 23-for-24 in save chances with a 4.58 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 40:9 K:BB across 35.1 innings.

Walker was removed from Saturday's game against the Orioles due to right hip tightness.

Walker appeared to tweak his right hip on a swing during his plate appearance in the fourth inning. He'll undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury, but if he were to miss extended time, then LaMonte Wade and Isaac Paredes would be in line to see more reps at first base.
