Stone (shoulder) said Sunday that he hopes to begin playing catch next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The right-hander was shut down in early March after being diagnosed with inflammation in his surgically repaired right shoulder, so it will take him some time to build his arm back up. Stone is hoping he can get back to mound work within the next month, which will likely push his return timeline into at least May.

Mayer (knee) is expected to rejoin Boston's Grapefruit League lineup Tuesday against Atlanta, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The 22-year-old was scratched from Sunday's spring lineup due to left knee soreness and will rest again Monday, but the injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern. After posting a .674 OPS in 44 regular-season games as a rookie last season, Mayer's .816 OPS through 27 plate appearances in spring training put him in strong position to win the starting job at second base to begin 2026.

The Rays reassigned Woodford to minor-league camp Sunday.

Woodford wasn't able to secure a long-relief role with the Rays heading into Opening Day, but he'll provide some valuable organizational pitching depth at Triple-A Durham, where he could be deployed either out of the bullpen or in the rotation. The 29-year-old righty made 22 appearances in the majors with Arizona in 2025, finishing with a 6.44 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 23:13 K:BB in 36.1 innings.

The Diamondbacks reassigned Hatch to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Hatch joined Arizona on a minor-league deal in January after he spent the 2025 season in the Royals and Twins organizations, logging a 5.82 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 22:17 K:BB over 34 big-league innings between the two stops. After the right-hander was unable to win a spot on Arizona's Opening Day roster, he'll likely serve as a swingman at Triple-A Reno to begin the 2026 campaign.

The Diamondbacks reassigned Jarvis to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Jarvis made 12 appearances at the big-league level for Arizona in 2025, submitting a 5.73 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB in 22 innings. He was outrighted off the 40-man roster in December and now appears set to open the season at Triple-A Reno after he was unable to break camp with a spot in the Diamondbacks bullpen.

The Diamondbacks reassigned Dubin to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Dubin had been attending camp as a non-roster invitee and was unable to secure a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen after giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings in Cactus League play. The 30-year-old righty spent the 2025 season in the Astros and Orioles organizations, making 30 appearances in the majors while pitching to a 5.08 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB across 33.2 frames.

The Diamondbacks reassigned Campbell to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Plenty of spots in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen were up for grabs in spring training, but Campbell was unable to seize one despite allowing just two baserunners over five innings across six Cactus League appearances. Campbell saw big-league action in each of the past three seasons but is slated to begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Reno.

The Cardinals optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

The right-hander made 32 relief appearances for St. Louis last year but struggled to a 7.71 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 30.1 innings. Fernandez wasn't any better during spring training with eight runs allowed and a 7:5 K:BB across six frames, so he'll begin 2026 at Triple-A.

The Yankees reassigned Luciano to minor-league camp Sunday.

Once a prized prospect in the Giants organization, Luciano's luster has dimmed while he's shown defensive limitations and has slashed a collective .217/.286/.304 over 126 plate appearances across multiple abbreviated stints in the majors. He was claimed off waivers by two other organizations this winter before landing with the Yankees, who outrighted him off the 40-man roster in February. After he was unable to win a spot on the Yankees' Opening Day squad, Luciano should be ticketed for a full-time role at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

Crouse (lat) struck out two and allowed two earned runs on three hits over an inning of relief Saturday in the Orioles' 8-6 win over the Pirates in his Grapefruit League debut.

The appearance was Crouse's first of spring training and signals that he's back to full health after he hadn't pitched in a game since April 3, 2025 while he recovered from a right lat strain. After being cut loose by the Angels last April shortly upon suffering the injury, Crouse had remained a free agent until he signed a minor-league deal with the Orioles in January. He's likely to open the season at Triple-A Norfolk.
