The Royals acquired McGee from the Brewers in exchange for cash considerations Tuesday and subsequently optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Friday, and Kansas City elected to trade for him rather than risk a waiver claim. McGee covered a scoreless frame in both of his appearances for the Brewers this season but struggled to a 5.62 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 43:17 K:BB across 41.2 innings at Triple-A.

Knack struck out two and allowed three earned runs on four hits and two walks across three innings in relief Saturday in the Dodgers' 9-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

After being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday following a lengthy recovery from an intercostal strain, Knack was put to work right away in the Dodgers' penultimate game of the first half. With starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto getting chased from the contest after five innings, Knack mopped up in long relief, needing 60 pitches to record his nine outs. The right-hander made 19 starts at the big-league level over the previous two seasons, but he looks like he'll have to settle for a bullpen role unless another injury creates an opening in the Dodgers' six-man rotation.

The Rangers released Bride on Monday.

Bride is presumably opting out of his minor-league contract with the Rangers, as he wasn't in line for a promotion to the big club despite producing a .274/.392/.421 slash line with nine home runs and eight steals over 80 games at Triple-A Round Rock this season. The 30-year-old infielder shouldn't have much trouble landing another opportunity, though he may have to settle for a minor-league deal on the open market.

Cannarella has produced a .347/.445/.612 slash line with nine homers, seven steals and a 20:20 BB:K over his first 33 games for Double-A Pensacola.

The 43rd overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of Clemson, Cannarella was promoted from High-A Benoit in early June and is putting together a breakout campaign that puts him on track to make his big-league debut next season. While there's still some question about his ultimate power upside, the 22-year-old hits the ball hard to all fields and has the athleticism and defensive chops to stick in center field. With Jakob Marsee regressing significantly this year at the big-league level, Cannarella is establishing himself as the Marlins' center fielder of the future, and another promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville later this summer seems likely.

Triple-A Buffalo placed Schreck on its 7-day injured list June 7 due to an unspecified injury.

Though the details regarding Schreck's injury remain unknown, Zach Worden of Sportsnet relays the outfielder appeared to suffer the injury on an awkward slide in Buffalo's June 3 game against Worcester. The 26-year-old has produced a .230/.380/.399 slash line with seven home runs and four stolen bases across 229 plate appearances this season.

Nimmala (hamstring) went 3-for-11 with two home runs, three walks, five runs and four RBI in four games for Double-A New Hampshire after being activated from the 7-day injured list July 7.

Nimmala spent five weeks on the shelf while recovering from a hamstring strain before getting the green light to rejoin New Hampshire following a six-game rehab stint between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Dunedin. The shortstop prospect has maintained a .303/.398/.434 slash line to go with two home runs and three steals in 22 games for New Hampshire since being promoted from High-A Vancouver on May 3.

Miles struck out a batter and allowed one hit and two walks over two scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Padres.

Miles made a four-inning start in his prior appearance July 7 in San Francisco, but he shifted back to the bullpen for the Blue Jays' final series of the first half while the team didn't have a need for a fifth starter. The fifth spot in the rotation will come up again July 21 versus Tampa Bay, but Max Scherzer (back) could be ready to return from the injured list by then to fill the void.

The Blue Jays announced July 6 that Sanchez (ankle) has been running and hitting at the club's complex in Florida, MLB.com reports.

Sanchez hasn't yet been cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League during the All-Star break, but he could travel north following the break to receive a reassessment from Blue Jays doctors before reporting to a higher-level affiliate for game action. After Sanchez was placed on the shelf June 27 due to a right ankle sprain, the Blue Jays initially turned to Yohendrick Pinango as their primary left fielder, but Jonatan Clase has since supplanted Pinango as Sanchez's main replacement in the corner outfield.

Garcia (elbow/neck/biceps) was cleared to throw a bullpen session late last week, MLB.com reports.

Garcia has taken the next step forward in his throwing progression and looks like he could be ready to resume facing hitters shortly after the All-Star break. The veteran righty opened the season on the injured list while completing his recovery from surgery last September to remove scar tissue around his right elbow, and he's since been pulled off rehab assignments on two occasions due to elbow soreness and nerve symptoms related to his biceps and neck. Once he's cleared to head back out on a rehab assignment, Garcia will likely require several appearances before the Blue Jays bring him back from the shelf.

Williams (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Williams underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in February but has since returned to full strength. He appeared in three games over the weekend for Single-A Jupiter, going 3-for-12 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored.
