Joshua Dobbs QB | NE
Steelers' Joshua Dobbs: Hits injured reserve
The Steelers placed Dobbs (toe) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ed Bouchette of The Athletic reports.
Dobbs is dealing with a toe injury, and the timing of the transaction rules him out for the 2021 season, barring an injury settlement. For the time being, the Steelers have both Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins on the roster behind Ben Roethlisberger.

Jake Luton QB | LV
Jake Luton: Done in Jacksonville
The Jaguars waived Luton on Tuesday.
Luton, a 2020 sixth-round pick, may be in play for a practice squad spot if he clears waivers unclaimed. In three appearances as a rookie, he threw two touchdowns to go with six interceptions.

Trace McSorley QB | WAS
Trace McSorley: Let go by Baltimore
McSorley was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday.
The Ravens will carry Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on their active roster. McSorley, who is entering his third season in the league, could return via the practice squad.

Reid Sinnett QB | CIN
Reid Sinnett: Waived by Miami
Sinnett was waived by the Dolphins on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Sinnett spent most of last season on Miami's practice squad and was unable to make the initial 53-man roster again this year. The Dolphins hope to bring him back to the practice squad once again, but he'll first need to pass through waivers unclaimed.

Tim Boyle QB | TEN
Lions' Tim Boyle: Out 6-8 weeks after surgery
Boyle (thumb) is expected to miss six to eight weeks following thumb surgery, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
This appears to be a good outcome, as it was feared Boyle might have to miss the entire season. David Blough will be the primary backup to Jared Goff to open the season, but Boyle should be given a shot to compete for the role when he returns.

Jake Browning QB | TB
Jake Browning: Cut by Vikings
Browning was waived by the Vikings on Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Browning had a strong showing early in training camp, but he struggled in all three preseason contests. The Vikings will attempt to bring him back via the practice squad if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Trevor Siemian QB | ATL
Trevor Siemian: Released by New Orleans
The Saints cut Siemian on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Saints are rolling with Ian Book as the primary backup to Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill -- who will both see action during Week 1. Siemian has appeared in just one NFL game since 2017 and will likely return to New Orleans as a practice squad player if he clears waivers.
-
Josh Johnson QB | CIN
Josh Johnson: Let go by Jets
The Jets released Johnson on Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
While Johnson had a strong preseason finale throwing for 73 yards and a touchdown, the 35-year-old journeyman was unable to land a spot on the Jets' initial 53-man roster. With time ticking down on Johnson's career, it's possible the quarterback could consider retirement if he is unable to find a spot on another team.
-
Cooper Rush QB | BAL
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Wins No. 2 gig
Rush is one of two quarterbacks on the Cowboys' roster after the team cut Garrett Gilbert and Ben DiNucci on Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
The Cowboys could still tentatively pursue another veteran option, but for at least the time being, Rush looks slated to operate as the backup to Dak Prescott (shoulder). That said, the team did recently pass on the opportunity to acquire Gardner Minshew in exchange for a late-round draft pick, instead allowing the Eagles to do so, which may be an indication that Dallas isn't in the market for an alternative backup option.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Saints' Jameis Winston: Week 1 game moved after hurricane
Winston and the Saints will have their Week 1 game against the Packers moved to a location outside New Orleans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After their final exhibition contest was canceled, the Saints now have to scramble to find a location for their season opener against Green Bay in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. It equates to a slight matchup downgrade for Winston and others, especially if the new location isn't indoors. Coach Sean Payton confirmed Tuesday morning that he's named Winston as his Week 1 starter over Taysom Hill, per Mike Triplett of ESPN.com.
