  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Jets' Sam Darnold: Will be evaluated Wednesday

The Jets are expected to evaluate Darnold (shoulder) on Wednesday before making a decision about his Week 12 availability, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

Darnold hasn't played since Week 8 due to a lingering AC joint injury in his right shoulder, but Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York has reported that coach Adam Gase said the young signal-caller has a "good shot" to return against Miami on Sunday. It sounds like the Jets are satisfied with how Darnold has progressed in his throwing routine, per Vacchiano, but the team remains concerned about re-injury. As Rich Cimini of ESPN.com notes, Darnold said Monday that a worst-case scenario for aggravating his shoulder would be another 2-to-3-week absence.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Begins week with limited practice

Stafford (thumb) was a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Stafford played through a partial ligament tear in his right thumb during Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His performance clearly was hindered, as he completed just 18 of 33 passes (55 percent) for 178 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. While it was a dismal performance, there haven't been any reported setbacks to Stafford's injury. At this time, he should be ready to start in the Thanksgiving Day clash against the Texans.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Placed on IR

The Bengals placed Burrow (torn ACL) on injured reserve Monday.

Burrow suffered a season-ending torn left ACL, MCL and additional ligament damage during Sunday's loss against Washington, so his placement on injured reserve was only a matter of time. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the Bengals anticipate an 8-to-9-month recovery timetable for Burrow, which would put him on track for the start of the 2021 season as long as he can avoid any setbacks. Ryan Finley replaced Burrow during Sunday's loss, and the Bengals have since promoted Brandon Allen from the practice squad.

  • Panthers' Teddy Bridgewater: Should practice Wednesday

Coach Matt Rhule said Monday that he expects Bridgewater to participate in Wednesday's practice, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Bridgewater logged a trio of limited practice sessions last week but was a late scratch for Sunday's win over Detroit, and P.J. Walker ultimately was Carolina's starting quarterback. Considering Bridgewater was expected to play Sunday despite a sprained MCL in his right knee, he has a decent chance to return to action Week 12 against the Vikings.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Expected to be ready for 2021

The Bengals expect Burrow (torn ACL) to recover in time for the start of the 2021 season, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Burrow tore his left ACL and MCL during Sunday's loss to the Football Team, in addition to suffering other structural damage. Adam Schefter of ESPN has noted that such injuries usually carry a 9-to-12-month recovery timetable, which could put his availability for next year in jeopardy, but Ben Baby of ESPN.com's confirmation that coach Zac Taylor expects Burrow to be ready for 2021 would suggest that the Bengals are confident his recovery will be on the quicker end. The 23-year-old now faces a difficult rehab process, even barring any setbacks, but his strong performance through 10 games as a rookie should provide Cincinnati with more than enough confidence to continue building around him.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Starter still TBD for Week 12

Coach Matt Nagy said Monday that he's not yet ready to name Trubisky (shoulder) or Nick Foles (hip) the starter for Sunday's game against the Packers, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.

Trubisky has been sidelined since Week 8 due to a lingering shoulder injury, but Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the 2017 first-round pick is present for Monday's practice while Foles is absent. The Bears reportedly consider Foles day-to-day due to a potential hip pointer sustained Nov. 16 versus Minnesota. It appears that a substantive update on Chicago's quarterback situation won't arrive until Wednesday's practice at the earliest, but the Week 12 starting gig could simply go to whomever of Trubisky or Foles is healthiest.

  • Brandon Allen QB | NYG

Bengals' Brandon Allen: Signs with Bengals' active roster

The Bengals will sign Allen to the active roster Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Allen was on the Bengals' practice squad but will slot into the backup role behind Ryan Finley following news that Joe Burrow suffered a torn ACL and MCL during Sunday's loss to Washington. Over three games with the Broncos last season, Allen completed 39 of 84 passes (46 percent) for 515 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Multi-ligament injury confirmed

Burrow suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee, in addition to other structural damage, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Burrow sustained the injury to his left knee during Sunday's 20-9 loss to Washington, when his leg buckled awkwardly while taking a sack, and Monday's MRI has now confirmed the full extent of the damage done. The 23-year-old signal-caller is set to undergo season-ending reconstructive surgery in the near future, and he'll need to avoid any setbacks in his recovery in order to return by the start of the 2021 campaign. In 10 appearances with the Bengals as a rookie, Burrow recorded 2,688 passing yards and a 13:5 TD:INT, a pace which put him on track to set multiple rookie passing records. He also managed 143 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: Steps it up on SNF

Carr completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-31 loss to Kansas City.

Carr resumed his early-season success after a rough three-week stretch that saw the signal caller average just 143.3 yards per game and a mediocre mark of 6.0 yards per attempt. The seven-year pro has shown that he still can play above league average when the game script asks him to make plays down the field. There is a pretty clear pattern of identifying when Carr will provide the volume necessary to be a relevant asset in fantasy. Two of the three games during his recent skid came against teams that control the ball with a run-heavy gameplan (Cleveland and Denver), and he failed to top 30 pass attempts in all three contests. If we exclude those low-usage games, Carr has eclipsed the 30-attempt mark in every other start, almost all of which have come against teams with high-octane passing attacks. Next week's opponent, the Atlanta Falcons, would fall into the latter category, which bodes well for Carr's fantasy outlook in Week 12.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Unstoppable in comeback victory

Mahomes completed 34 of 45 pass attempts for 348 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-31 win over the Raiders. He contributed 16 more yards on four rushing attempts.

Mahomes stat line would suggest that he was able to carve up the Raiders' secondary with ease -- as he does to many defenses around the league -- but the Chiefs' phenom was consistently evading pressure from Las Vegas' front. The 25-year-old's supernatural ability to throw the ball across his body with an off-balanced stance to avoid would-be tacklers was put on display on a multitude of occasions, almost always resulting in the ball hitting his receiver in the hands for big chunk gains. The only noticeable blemish was a red-zone interception that was likely the result of Demarcus Robinson breaking in the wrong direction on what should have been an out pattern. Mahomes capped off another clutch victory with a two-minute drill to put his squad up for good against a formidable Las Vegas team. The stellar outing put the signal caller above the 3,000-yard mark for the year. Next up for Mahomes and the Chiefs is a showdown between potential MVP candidates when they travel to Tampa Bay to face Tom Brady and the Buccaneers on Sunday.
