Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Two TDs not enough in Week 8
Rodgers completed 17 of 28 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots.
Rodgers threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Conklin in the first quarter and a one-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Gipson in the second, but the Jets came up a day late and a dollar short in another last-dash comeback bid. New York's sixth loss ended with a gimpy Rodgers and the offensive line hustling in vain to get a spike off as the final seconds ticked off after a 16-yard completion to Davante Adams on the game's final play. Conklin and Gipson have combined to catch all three of Rodgers' touchdown passes in two games since Adams' arrival in New York. Rodgers and the Jets won't have long to dwell on this latest disappointment, as they'll be right back in action Thursday against the Texans.

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Resurgent yardage total Sunday
Stroud completed 25 of 37 passes for 285 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added one rush for minus-4 yards in the Texans' 23-20 win over the Colts on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Stroud was coming off a career-low 86 passing yards in a Week 7 loss to the Packers, but he bounced back with his third-highest total of the season. The second-year signal-caller connected with Tank Dell for his one touchdown pass, hitting the second-year wideout from seven yards out late in the first half, and he recorded completions to eight different players overall. Stroud will still be without top wideout Nico Collins (hamstring) for at least one more game, and he'll have a short turnaround before doing battle with the Jets' talented secondary in a Week 9 Halloween road matchup Thursday night that he may not have Stefon Diggs (knee) for either.

Malik Willis QB | GB
Packers' Malik Willis: Fills in for Love, leads team to win
Willis completed four of five pass attempts for 56 yards and a touchdown while rushing four times for 23 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over Jacksonville.
Willis entered Sunday's contest in the third quarter after starter Jordan Love (groin) exited due to injury. Green Bay's backup performed well in the win, holding a lead he inherited early in the second half and completing a key 51-yard pass to Jayden Reed on the final drive to set up Brandon McManus' game-winning field goal. Willis would be making his third start in place of Love should the latter sit out next Sunday's tilt against the Lions. In two prior starts for Green Bay, Willis accounted for three touchdowns and did not throw an interception.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Highly inefficient in loss
Richardson completed 10 of 32 passes for 175 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing six times for 45 yards in the Colts' 23-20 loss to the Texans on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Richardson came into the game having completed just 48.5 percent of his throws, and though he was even more inefficient Sunday, he nearly led the Colts to a win. A bulk of Richardson's yardage came on two big throws to Josh Downs, who recorded gains of 69 and 25 yards while scoring on the first one and just missing a touchdown on the second. Richardson also managed to spike the ball with one second remaining to give the Colts one final chance at a game-winning throw, but he took a sack and fumbled on the final play of the game. The second-year signal-caller has an unenviable matchup in Week 9, as the Colts will travel to face the Vikings in a Sunday night interconference clash.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield: Impressive yardage despite absences
Mayfield completed 37 of 50 passes for 330 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing three times for 11 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-26 loss to the Falcons on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
Mayfield didn't allow the fact he was working without top receivers Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (IR-knee) to faze him, as he finished with his third straight 300-yard performance and third-highest passing yardage total of the campaign as well. Mayfield also extended his streak of games with at least three touchdown passes to four contests, connecting with Cade Otton (five, four yards) and Rachaad White (18 yards) for his trio of scoring tosses Sunday. Mayfield isn't expected to get Evans back until Week 12, so he'll be fighting quite the uphill battle in a Week 9 road matchup against the Chiefs on Monday night, Nov. 4.

Kirk Cousins QB | ATL
Falcons' Kirk Cousins: Punishes Buccaneers again Sunday
Cousins completed 23 of 29 passes for 276 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed three times for 16 yards in the Falcons' 31-26 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed a fumble that went out of the end zone for a safety.
Cousins had burned the Buccaneers for four scoring tosses during a memorable overtime victory in Week 5, but with Tampa Bay down both Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (IR-knee) on Sunday, the veteran signal-caller wasn't expected to have to be overly aggressive through the air. No one informed the feisty Buccaneers, which kept Cousins engaged through the air for all four quarters and facilitated another stellar performance in the process. Cousins connected with Kyle Pitts for touchdown tosses of 36 and 49 yards before adding 30- and six-yard scoring strikes to Darnell Mooney and Bijan Robinson, respectively. The veteran signal-caller has at least one touchdown pass in four straight games, and he next takes aim at the Cowboys' inconsistent defense in a Week 9 home matchup.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | MIA
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Throws for 234 in return
Tagovailoa (concussion) completed 28 of 38 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown while rushing three times for 13 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Cardinals. He fumbled three times but didn't lose a fumble.
Tagovailoa showed no signs of early rust in his first action since Week 2, as he completed 11 of his first 12 passes to help the Dolphins take a 10-0 lead. He cooled off for the rest of the first half before throwing a 12-yard touchdown pass to De'Von Achane in the third quarter, but Tagovailoa fumbled a snap out of the back of the end zone for a safety on the next possession to ignite an 18-7 Cardinals run to close out the game. Most importantly, Tagovailoa made it through unscathed after having been on IR since Week 2 against the Bills due to his latest concussion. Up next for Tagovailoa and the Dolphins is a Week 9 rematch in Buffalo.

Trevor Lawrence QB | JAC
Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Scores thrice Sunday
Lawrence completed 21 of 32 pass attempts for 308 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while rushing four times for 10 yards and a third touchdown (one fumble lost) in Sunday's 30-27 loss to Green Bay.
Lawrence recorded his first game with three touchdowns this season, but it also came at the cost of his first two-turnover contest. The 2021 first overall pick has quietly been solid through seven weeks, producing an 11:4 TD:INT ratio for a flailing Jaguars squad. Lawrence will always intrigue with his physical tools and upside, but he should be considered a mid-tier fantasy option at best heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Eagles, especially with all three of his starting wide receivers suffering an injury in Sunday's loss.
-
Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Unremarkable numbers in loss
Burrow completed 26 of 37 passes for 234 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed three times for 15 yards in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Burrow's day started off encouragingly enough with a two-yard touchdown toss to Ja'Marr Chase to cap off a 17-play march, but he wouldn't helm another drive that culminated in the end zone until well into the third quarter. With Tee Higgins (quadriceps) sidelined, Burrow targeted eight different players overall and connected with seven of them, but Mike Gesicki led Cincinnati's pass catchers with a modest 73 yards. Burrow also short-circuited a drive in Eagles territory with an interception on a deep pass to Chase early in the fourth quarter, his first pick since Week 5. With his team once again in a hole at 3-5, Burrow will next take aim at the vulnerable Raiders secondary in a Week 9 home matchup.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Four total TDs in win
Hurts completed 16 of 20 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and added 10 carries for 37 yards and three more scores in the Eagles' 37-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
For the second consecutive week, the Eagles continued to look like the team many expected them to be entering the season, and Hurts was at the center of the resurgence. The talented signal-caller was in vintage form on the ground, where he scored from one, seven and one yard out in the second, third and fourth quarters, respectively. Hurts didn't have to do too much through the air, finishing with well under 30 pass attempts for the third consecutive game. Hurts also extended his streak with at least one touchdown pass to four games via his pretty 45-yard strike to DeVonta Smith late in the third quarter, and the fifth-year quarterback's arrow is undeniably pointing up heading into a Week 9 home date with the vulnerable Jaguars defense.
