Rypien's role for Week 1 shouldn't come as a surprise, as he just joined the Vikings a little over a week ago, and Mullens already had the backup quarterback job secured. The Boise State product will only be able to enter the game if Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens both are injured and unable to play.

Wilson (calf) is inactive as the Steelers' emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Though Wilson campaigned to play in the Steelers' season opener, the team's coaching and training staffs ultimately decided to err on the side of caution and hold the quarterback out for Week 1 after he was a limited participant in practices Thursday and Friday due to the calf injury. The Cowboys and Prescott reached an agreement on a four-year, $240 million contract Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

He's thus locked in with Dallas through the 2028 season, when he'll be 35 years old.
