  • John Rhys Plumlee: Fails to make Steelers' roster

Pittsburgh waived Plumlee on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Plumlee did not get selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he did sign with the Steelers in April as a free agent out of UCF. He was brought in to complete against Kyle Allen for the No. 3 quarterback job behind Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Plumlee didn't see any action until the Steelers' preseason finale against the Lions on Saturday, during which he completed three of four passes for 32 yards. Assuming he clears waivers, Plumlee will look to catch on with another team, likely as a practice-squad quarterback.

  • Logan Woodside QB | ARI

    Logan Woodside: Released by Cincinnati

The Bengals released Woodside on Tuesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Woodside was unable to win a 53-man roster spot as the Bengals' QB3 behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning. He faired okay during the preseason, completing 41 of 58 passes for 379 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Woodside could land on the practice squad as an emergency option.

  • Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN

Colts' Sam Ehlinger: Wins No. 3 QB role

Ehlinger won a spot on Indianapolis' 53-man roster to begin the regular season.

He'll remain on the active roster as the third quarterback, but may not see any regular-season action if Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacco are healthy.

  • Austin Reed QB | CHI

Austin Reed: Let go by Chicago

The Bears waived Reed on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Reed signed with the Bears in April as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky. He was competing against Tyson Bagent during offseason workouts and training camp for the backup quarterback job behind 2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams. Across three preseason outings, Reed completed 12 of 16 pass attempts for 123 yards and one touchdown. He could elect to stick around on Chicago's practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.

  • Chris Oladokun: Gets let go

Oladokun was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Oladokun served as a practice-squad quarterback for Kansas City last season and is a likely candidate to do so again in 2024 after not making the 53-man roster.

  • Tanner Mordecai: Doesn't make final cut

Mordecai was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Mordecai signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in May. Ultimately, he was unable to push past Joshua Dobbs and Brandon Allen to earn a spot on the 49ers' final depth chart behind starter Brock Purdy.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Texans' Case Keenum: Headed to IR

The Texans are placing Keenum (foot) on IR, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Per the report, Keenum's placement on IR is due to a lingering foot injury that he aggravated in the Texans' final preseason game against the Rams. As a result, C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills are on track to be the only QB's on the team's initial 53-man roster.

  • P.J. Walker QB | SEA

PJ Walker: Set loose by Seattle

The Seahawks released Walker on Tuesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Walker never seemed like a true candidate to beat out Sam Howell for the No. 2 role behind Geno Smith, but he could resurface on Seattle's practice squad as the team's emergency third quarterback. The veteran signal-caller appeared in six games for the Browns last season.

  • Sean Clifford QB | CIN

Sean Clifford: Doesn't survive roster cuts

Clifford was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Clifford served as Green Bay's backup quarterback last season after the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. However, the team has acquired Malik Willis from Tennessee, who is now slated to be the No. 2, behind Jordan Love.

  • Michael Pratt: Cut by Green Bay

The Packers waived Pratt on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The seventh-round rookie out of Tulane completed 23 of 35 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown and one interception during the preseason. The Packers could try to further develop Pratt on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
