Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Saints' Jameis Winston: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Winston (back/ankle) was unable to practice Wednesday, instead focusing on rehab, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. "We're just trying to get him healthy," head coach Dennis Allen said.
After playing through injuries in the first three games of the season, Winston took a seat this past Sunday against the Vikings in London, yielding quarterback duties to Andy Dalton. While he's put a hip flexor injury behind him, Winston's current medical chart includes four small fractures in his back and an ankle issue, so it's unclear when exactly he may be able to mix into drills, let alone be cleared for game action. Dalton again will be the next quarterback up if Winston needs to sit Sunday against the Seahawks.

Tyrod Taylor QB | GB
Giants' Tyrod Taylor: Not at practice
Taylor (concussion) isn't practicing Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Taylor left Sunday's win over the Bears with a concussion after he replaced Daniel Jones, who then re-entered the contest and played through an ankle injury. The Giants reportedly hope to have Jones under center this Sunday against the Packers in London, but Taylor's availability is more murky. According to Bob Brookover of the Newark Star-Ledger, the concussion Taylor suffered last week was his fourth in the past five years.

Brian Hoyer QB | LV
Patriots' Brian Hoyer: Not practicing Wednesday
Hoyer (concussion) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Fellow quarterback Mac Jones (ankle) was present for the session, but it's unclear if he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Lions. Meanwhile, Hoyer's status for the contest is also uncertain, and if neither of New England's top signal-callers are available this weekend, rookie Bailey Zappe would draw the start against Detroit.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: Takes field Wednesday
Jones (ankle) was present on the field during the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Per Reiss, Jones, who is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, "had more zip on the ball, and stepped into throws more than he did last Friday." The Patriots will release their first Week 5 injury report later Wednesday, which will reveal the extent of Jones' participation. At this stage, Jones' status for this weekend's game against the Lions is unclear, as is the case with fellow signal-caller Brian Hoyer (concussion), who wasn't on the field Wednesday.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: Set for limited practice
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that Wilson will be a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
That said, Saleh noted that the Jets' starting quarterback is "fine," which suggests that Wilson isn't in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Dolphins, barring any setbacks. On the plus side, the meniscus issue that caused Wilson to miss the Jets' first three games no longer appears to be a concern.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Won't practice Wednesday
Prescott (thumb) is expected to work off to the side during Wednesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Prescott isn't expected to be available Week 5 versus the Rams, which a lack of practice Wednesday reinforces. The franchise quarterback continues to work his way back from surgery to address a right thumb fracture, and though he was cleared to resume light throwing last week, Prescott still has a number of hurdles to clear before being ready for game action. Cooper Rush projects to draw a fourth straight start versus Los Angeles, which would make Prescott's next target for a return Week 6 against Philadelphia.

Cooper Rush QB | BAL
Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Another start awaits
Rush is set to make his fourth straight start Sunday against the Rams with Dak Prescott (thumb) not having made enough progress in his recovery to play this weekend, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Dallas formally signed Will Grier -- who had backed up Rush in each of the previous three contests -- from the practice squad Tuesday, which supports the notion that Prescott isn't on track to be available even as an emergency No. 2 option. A return in Week 6 against the Eagles is still a realistic possibility for Prescott, but Rush will get at least one more chance to direct the Dallas offense. The backup has been a competent caretaker while leading the Cowboys to wins over the Bengals, Giants and Commanders. He has yet to commit a turnover this season and has completed 61.8 percent of his throws for 7.6 yards per attempt and four touchdowns.

Will Grier QB | CAR
Cowboys' Will Grier: Signs to active roster
Dallas signed Grier to its 53-man roster Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The Cowboys had already used their allowed three standard practice squad elevations on him in Weeks 2, 3 and 4, so with Dak Prescott (thumb) likely sitting out another game this Sunday, they saw fit to sign Grier to the active roster. The 27-year-old signal caller did not play a snap in any of the three games for which he's been called up so far, and he's just an insurance policy in case Cooper Rush goes down.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Won't be available Week 5
Prescott (thumb) isn't in line to play in Sunday's game against the Rams, a source familiar with his situation tells Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News.
Though Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy hasn't officially ruled Prescott out, the quarterback hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from right thumb surgery to realistically take back starting duties this weekend. Prescott was cleared to resume some light throwing last week, but team owner Jerry Jones noted earlier Tuesday that the 29-year-old isn't yet able to grip a football well enough to play. The Cowboys' decision to sign Will Grier off their practice squad implies that Prescott won't dress Sunday even as a backup option behind Cooper Rush, who is poised to pick up his fourth consecutive start. Prescott should still have a realistic shot at returning to action for Week 6 in Philadelphia.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Broncos' Russell Wilson: Remains limited Tuesday
Wilson (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant at Tuesday's practice, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
For the second day in a row, "Mr. Unlimited" found himself on the Week 5 injury report as a limited participant, though this time the Broncos actually got on the field for a walk-through session after Monday's practice was merely an estimated one. Wilson is tending to some soreness in his throwing shoulder in the aftermath of Sunday's loss to the Raiders, but head coach Nathaniel Hackett said he doesn't believe the quarterback is in danger of missing Thursday's game against the Colts, per Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site. Whether Wilson approaches the contest with an injury designation will likely be determined by what he's able to do at Wednesday's practice.
