Hooper (undisclosed) is in uniform for Sunday's preseason game against the Commanders, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.

Hooper is healthy enough to play after suffering an injury in practice last Saturday and subsequently missing some practice time. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Hunter Henry (undisclosed) remains unavailable for Sunday's preseason finale, and his status for the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Bengals remains up in the air. While Hooper's in uniform Sunday, he may not actually take the field, instead ceding playing time to rookie seventh-round pick Jaheim Bell, who is battling to make the team.

The Buccaneers waived Cannella on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Cannella signed with the Bucs at the beginning of training camp. He registered two catches for 16 yards against the Jaguars on Aug. 17, but he did not record a catch in his other two preseason outings. Cannella will explore his next options should he go unclaimed off waivers.

Wells was waived by the Bucs on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Wells jumped between the Bucs' practice squad and active roster in 2023, and he ended up playing in five regular-season games. He rejoined Tampa Bay on a reserve/future contract in January, but he was unsuccessful in making the 53-man roster this time around. Assuming he clears waivers, Wells could look to stick around with the Bucs' taxi squad or look for opportunities elsewhere.

Surratt has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's preseason game against Denver due to an ankle injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Surratt signed with the Cardinals on Wednesday. He caught one pass for four yards before leaving Sunday's contest.

Atlanta waived Stogner on Sunday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.

Stogner signed as an undrafted free agent with Atlanta in April. He appeared in all three preseason games, but he did not register a catch on four targets. Assuming he clears waivers, Stogner will look to catch onto a team's practice squad.

The Falcons released Thomas on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Thomas hasn't seen NFL action since 2020 with the Cardinals and Patriots, and after spending all of 2023 on the Panthers' practice squad, he signed with the Falcons on Aug. 1. He caught his lone pass for six yards in Atlanta's preseason opener against Miami on Aug. 9, but didn't do much else beyond that. The 2018 sixth-round pick will now look to catch on with another team.

The Jaguars released Myarick on Sunday.

Myarick signed with the Jaguars in early August after not playing in 2023. He last saw NFL action in 2022 with the Giants, and he'll now look to catch on with a team in need of a fullback.

Johnson will play in the Saints' preseason contest against Tennessee on Sunday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Johnson began training camp on the active/PUP list while continuing to recover from the foot surgery he underwent in June. The tight end was able to return to team drills Thursday and will be able to get in some game reps during New Orleans' final exhibition Sunday. Johnson likely won't log extensive playing time in this matchup, but the snaps should help him prepare for the regular season, as he's slated to be the team's No. 1 tight end under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

Miami released Fortson on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Fortson missed all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery prior to the start of the campaign. He signed a contract with the Dolphins this March and caught two of three targets for 20 yards during the exhibition slate but won't make the roster cut. Fortson could still end up on the team's practice squad.

Muse has not practiced in recent weeks with an undisclosed injury, The Athletic reports.

Muse appeared set to win the No. 3 tight end role, but he's now dealing with an injury, while Robert Tonyan returned to practice. Muse had a strong first two preseason games, but now his status for Week 1 is in question.
