  • Deebo Samuel WR | SF

49ers' Deebo Samuel: Not playing Saturday

Samuel isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against Minnesota, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Samuel is part of a rest group that also includes QB Trey Lance, TE George Kittle and WR Brandon Aiyuk. All are locked in for starring roles and large snap counts come Week 1.

  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Set to play with Tua on Saturday

Hill is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against Las Vegas, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed) is unavailable, but the Dolphins seem to be playing most of their healthy starters, including Hill and QB Tua Tagovailoa.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Not playing Saturday

Waddle (undisclosed) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against Las Vegas.

The Dolphins are mostly playing their starters, but Waddle is out with a seemingly minor injury. Cedrick Wilson, Preston Williams and Trent Sherfield are the top candidates to take on extra WR snaps with the first-team offense.

  • Khalil Shakir WR | BUF

    Bills' Khalil Shakir: Keeps rolling

Shakir caught three receptions for 59 yards on three targets in Buffalo's preseason game against Denver on Saturday.

Shakir has generally played as a backup and figures to remain one through the duration of his rookie season, but the talented fifth-round pick from Boise State clearly fell too far in the draft, and the Bills eventually will profit for that fact. Even if he can't break the top three on the Buffalo wideout depth chart, Shakir's talent looms as a concern for fellow slow wideouts like Jamison Crowder and Isaiah McKenzie.

  • Patriots' Tyquan Thornton: Likely out around eight weeks

Thornton (collarbone) is expected to miss around eight weeks, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.

Thornton fractured his collarbone during Friday's preseason game against Carolina and now appears likely to miss a good chunk of the regular season. While he wasn't headed for a starting job, the second-round pick reportedly had a nice training camp and was at least in the mix for snaps off the bench before this injury.

  • Gabe Davis WR | BUF

Bills' Gabriel Davis: Finds end zone in preseason game

Davis caught two receptions for 47 yards and one touchdown on three targets in Buffalo's preseason game against Denver on Saturday.

Davis' first two years in the NFL were encouraging, and by all accounts he continues to build momentum as he heads into his third season, his first as a starter. Be it training camp reports or preseason action, there's seemingly only good news to be found as Davis prepares to break out in 2022.

  • Stefon Diggs WR | WAS

Bills' Stefon Diggs: Two catches in preseason game

Diggs caught two receptions for 33 yards on two targets in Buffalo's preseason game against Denver on Saturday.

It was a breezy tuneup game for the Bills offense, and Diggs was unsurprisingly among those who produced in his brief showing. Even with the seeming emergence of teammate Gabriel Davis (two catches for 47 yards and one touchdown on three targets), Diggs is clearly poised to produce as one of the top fantasy receivers again in 2022.

  • Colts' Parris Campbell: Plays just nine snaps Saturday

Campbell wasn't targeted in Saturday's 27-26 preseason loss to the Lions.

Campbell played nine snaps on the first drive, but Nick Foles didn't look his way. Rookie Alec Pierce, who's competing with Campbell for a starting role, caught his only target for nine yards, so neither player did much to create separation in their competition. Campbell will likely be more involved in the Colts' preseason finale, Aug. 27 against the Buccaneers.

  • Alec Pierce WR | IND

Colts' Alec Pierce: Minimal action Saturday

Pierce caught his only target for nine yards in Saturday's 27-26 preseason loss to the Lions.

Most Colts starters played sparingly, if at all, so it's hard to glean too much information from this game. Parris Campbell, who's competing with Pierce for the No. 2 wide receiver role, saw the field briefly but didn't have any passes thrown his way. Meanwhile, Nick Foles connected with Pierce to move the chains on a 3rd-and-9 in Detroit territory on the opening drive. How the rookie out of Cincinnati is used in the Aug. 27 preseason finale against Tampa Bay could provide a better indication of Pierce's role heading into the regular season.

  • Mecole Hardman WR | BUF

Chiefs' Mecole Hardman: Likely out Saturday

Hardman (groin) isn't going through pregame warmups ahead of Saturday's preseason game against Washington, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.

The Chiefs are expected to play their starters but won't have Hardman or JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) available, potentially giving rookie Skyy Moore some playing time with QB Patrick Mahomes. Other candidates for added snaps include Justin Watson, Josh Gordon, Daurice Fountain, Cornell Powell and Corey Coleman.
