  • Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: Will have competition Week 9

Hutchinson could see a reduction in targets Week 9 against Denver, as both Nico Collins and Christian Kirk shed their injury designations Friday.

Hutchinson experienced an uptick in targets the last two weeks when both Collins and Kirk were impacted by injuries, but their returns should suppress Hutchinson's production. He typically sees a high snap volume whether or not the team is dealing with injuries to other receivers, so Hutchinson will be on the field often and still in a position to make some kind of impact.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Ready to return Week 9

Kirk (hamstring) logged a full practice Friday and carries no injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Both Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) were full participants Friday and enter Week 9 with no designation. Kirk missed the last two games and four overall this season due to a balky hamstring. That's limited him to 10 catches, 109 yards and zero touchdowns over three games.

  • Nico Collins WR | HOU

Texans' Nico Collins: Carries no designation Week 9

    Collins (concussion) was a

Collins, who cleared the concussion protocol Thursday, logged a pair of full practices heading into the weekend. The injury forced him to miss last week's win over San Francisco, but Collins remains the team's leader in targets (46), catches (26) and yards (339). He also has three touchdowns, tying him with fellow wideout Xavier Hutchinson.

  • Jaguars' Austin Trammell: Signed to active roster

The Jaguars signed Trammell to the active roster from the practice squad Friday.

Trammell has spent all season with the Jacksonville practice squad and was elevated once, though he has yet to see game action. He'll likely serve primarily as a special-teamer while taking the roster spot of Travis Hunter (knee).

  • Tim Patrick WR | JAC

Jaguars' Tim Patrick: Ruled out for Week 9

Patrick (groin) won't play Sunday against Las Vegas.

Patrick injured his groin against the Rams in Week 7. The Jaguars were on bye last week, but that didn't provide enough time for Patrick to fully recover, though he did manage to log a trio of limited practices this week. Austin Trammell was signed to the active roster off Jacksonville's practice squad Friday and could get some offensive snaps in Patrick's absence.

  • Texans' Braxton Berrios: Green light for Week 9

Berrios (chest) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Berrios has been given the all-clear to play Week 9 after logging a full practice Friday. He played a meaningful role on offense during the Texans' Week 8 win over the 49ers and finished with five catches on as many targets for 38 yards. However, Berrios will likely be limited to a role on special teams for Week 9 due to the returns of Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring).

  • Travis Hunter CB | JAC

Jaguars' Travis Hunter: Officially placed on IR

The Jaguars placed Hunter (knee) on injured reserve Friday.

After Hunter was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday with a knee injury, head coach Liam Coen told Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union on Friday that it was non-contact in nature and would result in a stint on IR, per Harvey. Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported later Friday that initial tests on Hunter's knee revealed that his ACL was intact, but the rookie No. 1 overall pick will be evaluated further to determine the extent of the damage, which won't be known until next week. For the time being, Hunter will miss at least the next four games following this transaction, and the Jaguars will proceed with Brian Thomas, Parker Washington, Dyami Brown and Tim Patrick (groin) at wide receiver moving forward.

  • Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Cleared to play Sunday

Thomas (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders after being limited in practice this week.

With Travis Hunter (knee) on IR and slated to miss at least four games, the Jaguars will need all they can get from Thomas in the coming weeks, as he's slated to lead a WR corps that will also features Dyami Brown and Parker Washington. Through seven games, Thomas -- who caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 TDs as a rookie last season -- has logged a less impressive 27-365-1 line on 55 targets, but as long as he's not hampered too much by the shoulder issue he's currently managing, he should be busy this weekend and beyond.

  • Dareke Young WR | LV

Seahawks' Dareke Young: Out for Week 9

Young (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Young injured his hip during the Seahawks' Week 7 win over the Texans, but it's since been reclassified as a quad concern. He wasn't able to practice despite the extra rest courtesy of the Week 8 bye, so the 2022 seventh-rounder will miss his second game of the regular season. Both Young and Jake Bobo (Achilles) have been ruled out for Week 9, and Cooper Kupp (heel/hamstring) is listed as questionable, so the Seahawks likely will elevate at least one wide receiver from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's contest. Ricky White, Cody White, Courtney Jackson and Tyrone Broden are the four options at the position on Seattle's practice squad.

  • Dyami Brown WR | WAS

Jaguars' Dyami Brown: Good to go in Week 9

Brown (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Las Vegas.

Brown opened Week 9 prep as limited due to a shoulder issue Wednesday, but full practices Thursday and Friday have cleared him to suit up Sunday, when he'll be without Travis Hunter for the first of at least four contests after the rookie first-round pick was placed on injured reserve following Thursday's non-contact knee injury. Brown's snap share and target count figure to increase for as long as Hunter is sidelined, but he'll still need to contend with Brian Thomas (shoulder), Parker Washington and Tim Patrick (groin) for QB Trevor Lawrence's attention.
