  • DeAndre Carter WR | CLE

Browns' DeAndre Carter: Won't return Sunday

Carter (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Carter went to the locker room in the first quarter after taking a hit to the head and has been diagnosed with a concussion. He is now in the league's concussion protocol, which he will have to clear in order to play against the Packers in Week 3. Isaiah Bond fielded a punt return in the first quarter and figures to serve as the Browns' returner on special teams for the rest of Sunday's game in Carter's absence.

  • DeAndre Carter WR | CLE

Browns' DeAndre Carter: Being evaluated for concussion

Carter is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Carter was evaluated in the blue medical tent in the first quarter before heading to the locker room for further testing. Isaiah Bond should see more work on kickoff and punt returns for as long as Carter is out of the game.

  • Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Inactive again Week 2

Burton (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Sunday's tilt against Jacksonville.

Burton was also inactive for Cincinnati's season-opening win over Cleveland, so it appears the Bengals don't currently have a role for him. The second-year wideout can contribute as both a depth receiver and kick/punt returner when given a chance to play, though fellow WR Charlie Jones served as the team's return man in Week 1 and therefore seems to be ahead of Burton in the pecking order.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Trending toward Week 3 return

Worthy (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, but the Chiefs believe the receiver is "looking good" to play Week 3 against the Giants, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Despite suffering a full tear of his right labrum during a collision with teammate Travis Kelce on the first drive of the Chiefs' 27-21 season-opening loss to the Chargers on Sept. 5, Worthy was able to practice in a limited fashion Thursday and Friday and took a doubtful tag into the weekend before the Chiefs downgraded him to out for the Week 2 matchup. Worthy could still require surgery for the injury down the road, but for the time being, he plans to play through the issue while wearing a harness to protect the torn labrum. The Chiefs will wait and see how Worthy fares during their upcoming practices in Week 3 before deciding on his availability for the showdown with the Giants, but the early expectation is that he'll be ready to play following a one-game absence.

  • Trey Palmer WR | NO

Saints' Trey Palmer: Healthy scratch Week 2

Palmer (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Palmer was claimed off waivers by the Saints in late August after failing to make the Buccaneers' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. However, the 2023 sixth-rounder has been a healthy scratch in each of the first two games of the regular season, and he's unlikely to see the field unless Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Brandin Cooks, Devaughn Vele or Mason Tipton were to miss time. Palmer's next opportunity to suit up is Week 3 against the Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 21.

  • 49ers' Jordan Watkins: Pro debut pushed back

Watkins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game at New Orleans, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.

Watkins didn't suit up Week 1 due to a lingering high-ankle sprain, but after capping Week 2 prep with a full practice Friday, the rookie fourth-round pick was cleared ahead of Sunday's contest. However, he'll be a healthy scratch while Jauan Jennings (shoulder), Ricky Pearsall, Kendrick Bourne, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore handle WR snaps. Watkins' next chance to make his pro debut is Sunday, Sept. 21 against the Cardinals.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

    Bills' Curtis Samuel: Inactive again

Samuel (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Samuel was also a healthy scratch in Week 1, so it may take an injury to a fellow WR to get him back on Buffalo's game-day roster. Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers are the Bills' available wide receivers versus the Jets.

  • Giants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Good to go Week 2

Robinson (ankle) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

The 24-year-old received the questionable tag after picking up an ankle injury in the season opener, but he'll be available for Sunday's divisional matchup in Dallas. Robinson played 76 percent of the offensive snaps Week 1 and showed a decent rapport with quarterback Russell Wilson, catching six of eight targets for 55 yards.

  • Allen Lazard WR | NYJ

Jets' Allen Lazard: Active versus Bills

Lazard is active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

With Josh Reynolds sidelined by a hamstring injury, Lazard -- who was a healthy scratch in Week 1 -- will draw back into the lineup Sunday. He'll be in the mix along with Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith and Isaiah Williams for WR snaps that don't go to clear-cut top option Garrett Wilson.

  • 49ers' Jauan Jennings: Suiting up in Week 2

Jennings (shoulder) is listed as active Sunday at New Orleans, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.

Jennings was forced out of last Sunday's win at Seattle in the fourth quarter due to a left shoulder injury, which capped him to one limited practice during Week 1 prep. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Saturday evening that Jennings was considered a game-time decision for Week 2 action, with a pregame workout to determine whether or not he'd be active. Now that his status has been confirmed for Sunday's contest, Jennings will be available to the 49ers offense, but it remains to be seen what kind of workload he'll be able to handle. He'll also be working with backup QB Mac Jones instead of regular starter Brock Purdy (toe/shoulder), so the outlooks for all San Francisco pass catchers seemingly take a step back in the short term.
