The Saints have elevated Austin from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

Austin signed with the Saints' practice squad Sept. 2 after being waived by the team on cutdown day. The wide receiver will likely see minimal targets, as he is set to be the fifth option. If Austin does see the field, the majority of his snaps will likely occur on special teams.

The Saints signed Welch to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

With Audric Estime (thigh) moved to IR in a surprise move, the Saints gained an open spot on the 53-man roster. Welch will be the No. 3 tight end due to Oscar Delp (hamstring) being ruled out and will likely participate almost exclusively on special teams and in 13-personnel sets, if he plays at all in the team's Week 1 matchup with the Lions.

The Cowboys placed Davis (hip) on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Davis underwent surgery Saturday for a hip injury, and Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports that the procedure will sideline the 27-year-old running back for the entire 2026 season. With Davis on the shelf, the Cowboys bolstered their backfield depth by signing Israel Abanikanda from the practice squad to the active roster, with the latter serving as the RB3 behind Javonte Williams and Emari Demercado.

The Saints placed Estime (thigh) on injured reserve Saturday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

Estime was ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit with a thigh injury. The running back's injury came out of nowhere but movement to IR likely means it is a significant issue. Estime will need to miss the first four games of the regular season before he is eligible to return to the field.

Simmons (back) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Broncos, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Simmons has been dealing with a persistent back injury throughout the offseason. The 2025 first-rounder has seemingly not been able to progress much in his recovery. With Simmons unable to suit up, rookie undrafted free agent Kahlil Benson is set to make his NFL debut protecting Patrick Mahomes' blindside.

Connor (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Broncos, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Connor is still dealing with a knee issue he picked up during the preseason and was unable to get right in time to suit up for the Week 1 divisional showdown. Jaden Hicks will likely start at strong safety in Connor's stead.

Jones (calf) is expected to play in Monday night's game against the Broncos, Jesse Newell of The Athletic reported Saturday.

Coach Andy Reid said Jones should be all set to suit up for Monday's divisional rivalry. With this context, Jones' minor participation in Saturday's session was likely more for vet rest than anything else.

The Bears signed Moss to the practice squad and elevated him to the active roster Saturday.

The Bears waived Moss during cutdown day. The quarterback cleared waivers and signed back with the team's practice squad Saturday. The Bears required the QB on the practice squad so they could elevate him to the active roster ahead of Sunday's showdown with the Panthers, where he will likely be the emergency No. 3 QB behind Caleb Williams and Case Keenum as Tyson Bagent (back) deals with an injury.

Ajiake (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game with the Ravens.

Ahiake was questionable to play in Week 1 as he nursed a hamstring injury he likely sustained during the week. The linebacker's absence will leave a void on special teams. Second-round rookie CJ Allen is a likely candidate to take over some of the snaps that Ajiake will miss.

The Lions restructured Sewell's contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Lions converted $18.6 million of Sewell's contract into a signing bonus to free up cap space. The team also restructured the contract of Amon-Ra St. Brown, pointing to a potential move for either a high-value player or increased depth sometime soon.
