  • Theo Johnson TE | NYG

Giants' Theo Johnson: Donning non-contact jersey at practice

Johnson (shoulder) is participating in Monday's practice in a non-contact jersey, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

Johnson was injured in practice last Monday and continues to deal with the issue, though his return to action would suggest the tight end is on track to play Week 1 against the Cowboys. Johnson figures to work mostly as a blocker this season after the Giants signed Isaiah Likely to a contract over the offseason.

  • 49ers' Mykel Williams: Moved to reserve/PUP list

Williams (knee) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the 49ers on Sunday.

Williams is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in November 2025, and he was unable to practice or play during the preseason. The 22-year-old will now be forced to miss at least four contests to open the regular season, and the earliest he'll be able to return to action is Week 5 against the Seahawks on Oct. 11.

  • Isaiah Bond WR | CLE

Browns' Isaiah Bond: Absent from practice Monday

Bond (concussion) is not practicing Monday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Bond continues to deal with the concussion he sustained in Cleveland's second preseason game, but coach Todd Monken said Monday the wideout is nearing a return to the field. Bond is expected to open the season as a sub-package wide receiver behind Jerry Jeudy and rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston while also handling return duties. Bond doesn't carry much fantasy value outside of return yardage leagues.

  • Carson Beck QB | ARI

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Returning to practice Monday

Coach Mike LaFleur said Beck (ribs) will return to practice Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Beck suffered a ribs injury in the Hall of Fame Game earlier this month and missed the Cardinals' three official preseason contests. The third-round rookie is set to open the season as Arizona's QB3 behind starter Jacoby Brissett and veteran backup Gardner Minshew. There's a pretty good chance Beck sees action as a rookie during the regular season.

  • Jake Moody K | WAS

Jake Moody: Signed to Ravens' practice squad

Moody was signed to the Ravens' practice squad Monday.

Moody was let go by Washington on Aug. 17, and the kicker will now head to Baltimore as a potential fallback option for the team if second-year pro Tyler Loop stumbles in 2026. Moody combined to go 19-for-23 on field-goal tries, including 2-for-2 from 50-plus yards, over nine regular-season contests with the 49ers, Bears and Commanders in 2025.

  • Steelers' Michael Pittman: Expected to be fine for Week 1

Pittman (hamstring) is expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Falcons, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Like teammate DK Metcalf (undisclosed), Pittman has missed a bunch of practice time in training camp and didn't see any preseason action. However, Pittman was back on the practice field last week and now will have the next couple weeks to get ramped up for the Week 1 opener. Acquired from the Colts over the offseason, Pittman is expected to push Metcalf for the team lead in targets this season, but it's fair to wonder about Pittman's chemistry with Aaron Rodgers right out of the gates.

  • DK Metcalf WR | PIT

Steelers' DK Metcalf: Expected to be ready for Week 1

Metcalf (undisclosed) is expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Falcons, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Metcalf has dealt with an undisclosed injury for much of training camp, but he returned to practice last week and is expected to be ready when the games count. He'll be looking for a bounce-back 2026 season after he produced just 59 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns across 15 regular-season contests last season, his first season with the Steelers. Metcalf is facing added competition for targets in the form of Michael Pittman (hamstring), who also is expected to be ready for the Week 1 opener.

  • DeShon Elliott SAF | PIT

Steelers' DeShon Elliott: Starting season on IR

Elliott (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Steelers on Sunday with a designation to return, Teresa Varley of the team's official website reports.

Elliott suffered a pair of knee injuries in 2025, the latter of which sidelined him for the last two-plus months of the campaign. The safety was able to return to practice in late July, and he registered four total tackles (three solo) during the preseason. It's unclear if Elliott is still dealing with a knee issue or something new, but he will now be forced to miss at least four contests to begin the regular season.

  • Kenyon Sadiq TE | NYJ

Jets' Kenyon Sadiq: On track for Week 1

Coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Sadiq (hernia) remains on track to play Week 1 against the Titans, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Sadiq missed most of training camp and the entirety of the preseason, but the first-round rookie now will begin ramping up his activity level over the next 10 days to get ready for the regular-season opener. He isn't going to have an every-down role out of the gates for the Jets due to all of the missed practice time, and the expectation is Mason Taylor operates as more of an every-down tight end for New York. Sadiq is someone to monitor in fantasy leagues at the beginning of the season to see how his role grows in an offense starved for playmakers.

  • Eagles' Grant Calcaterra: Opening season on IR

Calcaterra (back) was placed on injured reserve by the Eagles on Sunday with a designation to return.

Calcaterra suffered a back injury, and he was forced to miss the team's final two games of the preseason. The tight end will now be sidelined until at least Week 5, and in his absence, Johnny Mundt will likely operate as the team's primary reserve option behind starter Dallas Goedert.
