  • Stars' Mavrik Bourque: Scores, take five shots Sunday

Bourque scored a goal and took five shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.

Bourque has scored three goals in the Stars' last six games, and the 23-year-old is showing signs of leaving the slump that was affecting him earlier in the year. Despite holding a top-six role in the lineup, it's hard to justify rostering Bourque outside of the deepest formats. He's notched a mere 14 points (seven goals, seven helpers) in 42 games this season.

  • Canadiens' Oliver Kapanen: Scores in win over Dallas

Kapanen scored a goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Stars.

Kapanen has struggled a bit with his consistency on a game-to-game basis, but the 22-year-old forward has cracked the scoresheet in five of his last eight contests. Over that stretch, Kapanen has earned six points (three goals, three assists), 19 shots, two hits, 13 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating. Kapanen should continue to rack up stats due to his top-six role in the lineup.

  • J.T. Miller C | NYR

    Rangers' J.T. Miller: Making progress

Miller (upper body) has been cleared for full contact, but he isn't ready to return for Monday's game versus the Mammoth according to Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.

Miller remains on injured reserve and will miss his seventh straight game Monday, but it doesn't sound like a return to the lineup is far away. Once he receives the green light to play, he should land a top-six role and see time on the first power-play unit. Miller has accounted for 10 goals, 22 points, 77 shots on net and 74 hits across 35 appearances this season.

  • Devils' Dawson Mercer: Deposits lone goal in loss

Mercer scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Mercer ended his 16-game goal drought with a first-period tally. During that stretch, he was limited to five assists, 34 shots on net and a plus-1 rating. The 24-year-old has been playing center on the second line for the last few games while Jack Hughes works on the wing with Nico Hischier centering the top line. Even with the recent slump, Mercer's at 11 goals and 26 points through 42 outings this season, putting him on pace to top the 50-point mark for the second time in his career.

  • Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Lights lamp in Sunday's win

Stankoven scored a goal on four shots and added four PIM in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Devils.

Stankoven had gone 11 games without a goal, picking up three assists in that span. The 22-year-old had the last tally in Sunday's contest to snap the drought. For the season, he's up to seven goals, 18 points, 89 shots on net, 23 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 42 appearances. Stankoven remains in a middle-six role, but he hasn't improved his offense from his totals of 14 goals and 24 assists over 78 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: First point since return

Eichel notched an assist and went minus-2 in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.

This was Eichel's second game back after missing seven due to a lower-body injury. He's resumed his usual top-line role, so the offense shouldn't take long to pick up, though the Golden Knights are on a five-game losing streak. Eichel has been strong this season with 42 points (12 goals, 30 helpers), 121 shots on net and a plus-2 rating over 33 appearances.

  • Sam Bennett C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Tallies in Sunday's win

Bennett scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked two shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Bennett opened the scoring 6:27 into the first period. With the goal, he extended his point streak to nine games (four tallies, six helpers). The 29-year-old center has locked in since the second half of November and is producing at about his peak level. He's up to 14 goals, 31 points, 104 shots on net, 85 hits, 19 blocked shots, 38 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 41 appearances. The hot streak may not last, but another year of 50-plus points is looking probable.

  • Golden Knights' Tanner Laczynski: Scores twice for Henderson

Laczynski scored two goals in AHL Henderson's 4-3 win over Colorado on Sunday.

Laczynski has three goals and six assists during a six-game point streak for the Silver Knights. He's up to 11 goals and 29 points, as well as a plus-19 rating, through 29 appearances this season. Laczynski is on a career-best pace in the AHL and could push for 60 points if he avoids slumps the rest of the way.

  • Hurricanes' Charlie Cerrato: Three-point effort Sunday

Cerrato scored a goal and added two assists in Penn State's 7-3 win over the Rochester Institute of Technology on Sunday.

Cerrato has had another strong year in the NCAA, racking up six goals and 18 helpers through 18 appearances. He also represented the US Collegiate Selects at the Spengler Cup in Switzerland. Cerrato is on his way to a second point-per-game campaign for Penn State, which makes him look like a pretty good second-round pick by the Hurricanes in 2025.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Expected back before Olympics

Bedard (shoulder) is expected back before the Olympic break, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports Sunday.

Bedard is still recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered Dec. 12. He has missed 10 games since then, and a return to the ice isn't imminent but is expected before the Olympic break, which begins Feb. 6. The 20-year-old is in the midst of his best season as a pro with 19 goals and 25 assists in 31 games.
