Jake Leschyshyn C | BUF
Sabres' Jake Leschyshyn: Pens one-year deal
Leschyshyn inked a one-year, two-way deal with the Sabres on Wednesday, per PuckPedia.
Leschyshyn was let go by the Rangers this offseason after the team failed to issue him a qualifying offer. Considering the 26-year-old center failed to make an NHL appearance for the club last season -- and played in just one game for the Rangers the year prior -- his departure shouldn't come as a surprise. While NHL minutes could be easier to come by for Leschyshyn with Buffalo, he still figures to spend the bulk of his time in the minors with AHL Rochester.

Cameron Hebig C | UTA
Mammoth's Cameron Hebig: Lands two-way contract
Hebig signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Mammoth on Wednesday, PuckPedia reports.
Hebig spent last season with AHL Tucson, his fifth consecutive year with the minor-league club. He recorded 26 goals, 21 assists and 34 PIM over 67 appearances. He hasn't yet made his NHL debut, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

Joseph Veleno C | MON
Canadiens' Joe Veleno: Lands with hometown team
Veleno inked a one-year contract with Montreal on Wednesday.
Veleno split the 2024-25 campaign between Detroit and Chicago, racking up eight goals and nine helpers in 74 combined regular-season games. After being traded to Seattle and then bought out by the Kraken, the 25-year-old center was free to return to his native Montreal. With the Habs, Veleno should challenge for a middle-six role and figures to push for the 20-point threshold after missing that mark last time around.

Jan Mysak C | ANA
Ducks' Jan Mysak: Signs two-way deal
Mysak signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim on Tuesday.
Mysak registered 18 goals and 42 points in 68 regular-season appearances with AHL San Diego in 2024-25. The 23-year-old forward hasn't made his NHL debut yet and could spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

Anton Frondell C | CHI
Blackhawks' Anton Frondell: Pens entry-level pact
Frondell signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Chicago on Tuesday.
Frondell notched 11 goals and 25 points across 29 regular-season outings with Djurgardens IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan in 2024-25. He added three tallies and seven points in 16 qualification games to get the club back into the SHL. He will likely remain in Sweden for at least one more campaign. Chicago chose the 18-year-old forward with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

John Farinacci C | BOS
Bruins' John Farinacci: Inks one-year deal
Farinacci agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Bruins on Tuesday, according to Joe Haggerty of Boston Sports Journal.
Farinacci will come with a $775,000 annual cap hit whenever he's on the NHL roster during the upcoming campaign. He provided 10 goals, 38 points and a plus-9 rating over 58 regular-season outings with AHL Providence in 2024-25. The 24-year-old also made his NHL debut in April, scoring his first career goal on just one shot in his lone appearance with Boston. The Bruins are relatively thin up the middle, so Farinacci will look to earn a roster spot out of training camp.

Skyler Brind'Amour C | CAR
Hurricanes' Skyler Brind'Amour: Staying in Carolina's organization
Brind'Amour penned a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Hurricanes on Monday, per PuckPedia.
Brind'Amour appeared in two regular-season games with the Hurricanes in 2024-25, scoring his first career NHL goal on his only shot. The left-shot forward also recorded 16 goals, 24 points and a minus-14 rating over 68 regular-season appearances with AHL Chicago. Carolina has a deep forward group, and considering Brind'Amour's new deal is a two-way contract, he's likely to spend the whole campaign with the Wolves unless multiple injuries open up a spot with the big club.

Morgan Barron C | WPG
Jets' Morgan Barron: Lands two-year contract
Barron signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with Winnipeg on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Barron registered eight goals, 15 points, 92 shots on net and 122 hits across 74 regular-season appearances with the Jets in 2024-25. He will probably occupy a bottom-six role with the team during the 2025-26 campaign.

Braeden Cootes C | VAN
Canucks' Braeden Cootes: Puts pen to paper
Cootes signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Canucks on Wednesday.
Cootes was drafted 15th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old center produced 63 points over 60 regular-season games with WHL Seattle in his draft year and is expected to return to the Thunderbirds for 2025-26 to continue his development. He's also been involved in the U17 and U18 squads for Team Canada over the last two years, so it wouldn't be surprising for him to be in the mix for a roster spot for the World Junior Championship this winter.

Sam Morton C | CGY
Flames' Sam Morton: Inks two-way deal
Morton signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flames on Wednesday.
Morton had 20 goals and 45 points in 70 regular-season appearances with AHL Calgary in 2024-25. He also made his NHL debut with the Flames on April 17, recording a goal, four hits and a blocked shot. The 25-year-old is likely to begin the 2025-26 campaign in the minors, but he might end up logging additional games at the NHL level before the season is over.
