Joseph (upper body) is expected to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports Wednesday.

Joseph was already placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so his recovery timeline doesn't come as a significant shock. With Tyler Myers shipped off to Dallas and Joseph unavailable, Victor Mancini will step into the lineup on the third pairing. Even once cleared to play, Joseph is far from a lock to suit up every night.

Moverare (personal) has been activated off the non-roster list Wednesday.

Moverare has spent more time in the press box as a healthy scratch this season than actually on the bench, logging just 15 games. In those outings, the 27-year-old defenseman has failed to get on the scoresheet, chipping in seven shots, three hits and 12 blocks while averaging 8:47 of ice time.

Rinzel logged an assist, three shots on goal and two PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Jets.

Rinzel missed the previous two games due to an illness. While listed on the third pairing, the defenseman was at 22:19 of ice time in the Blackhawks' first game sans Connor Murphy. That trade will open up ice time for Rinzel, who should be capable of playing a decent shutdown game while also chipping in offense. He has 11 points, 54 shots on net, 37 blocked shots, 34 PIM, 28 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 33 NHL appearances this season.

Sergachev scored a power-play goal on four shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.

Sergachev has two goals and three assists over his last six outings, with four of those five points coming on the power play. The 27-year-old defenseman has now reached the 10-goal mark in three of the last four years. He's at 42 points (18 on the power play), 128 shots on net, 100 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 61 appearances in a top-pairing role.

Myers (not injury related) was acquired by Dallas from Vancouver on Wednesday in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 fourth-round selection, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

Vancouver retained half of Myers' remaining contract, so Dallas is responsible for $1.5 million of his annual cap hit for the rest of this campaign and 2026-27. The 36-year-old defenseman has a goal, eight points, 40 PIM, 65 hits and 91 blocks in 57 appearances in 2025-26. He might see his playing time drop in Dallas relative to his average of 20:13 in Vancouver this season, but Myers should be a solid option on the Stars' second or third pairing. Myers missed Vancouver's past three games for roster-management reasons as the Canucks shopped him, and it remains to be seen if he'll make his Stars debut Friday versus Colorado. Myers might be given more time to settle in before getting into his first game with Dallas.

Tanev underwent core muscle surgery Wednesday and will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

Tanev should be ready for training camp in September. His six-year, $27 million contract runs through 2029-30 and comes with a no-movement clause, so it's fair to believe he'll still be a member of the Leafs for the 2026-27 season. The 36-year-old defenseman will complete 2025-26 with two assists, eight shots, two hits and 15 blocks in only 11 appearances.

Samberg recorded a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blackhawks.

Samberg has four points in four appearances since the Jets returned from the Olympics, tallying one goal and three assists in that stretch. He earned his first goal of the season in his 44th appearance. He has more value in formats that reward physical stats, as he has 37 hits and 73 blocked shots this campaign.

Balinskis registered an assist and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Devils.

Balinskis missed one game due to an undisclosed injury. The defenseman resumed a top-four role and helped out on an Anton Lundell tally. Balinskis has 15 points (six on the power play), 63 hits, 62 shots on net, 38 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 51 appearances this season. He carries some upside in deep fantasy formats for his all-around production.

Nemec scored an empty-net goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Panthers.

Nemec ended a nine-game point drought with the tally. The 22-year-old defenseman is filling a bottom-four role, though the Devils often spread the ice time around on defense. He has nine goals, 21 points, 72 shots on net, 66 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 47 appearances. If the Devils can trade Dougie Hamilton prior to Friday's deadline, Nemec would be in the best position to see an increased role, particularly on the power play.

Zadorov logged an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Penguins.

Zadorov earned his first point in seven games since he missed a contest due to an ankle issue. The 30-year-old defenseman has been under 20 minutes of ice time in each of the last four games, which is a product of the Bruins' defense being fully healthy. Zadorov has produced 18 points, 72 shots on net, 146 hits, 81 blocked shots, 125 PIM and a plus-19 rating over 59 appearances this season, making him a strong source of all-around physical production in fantasy.
