K'Andre Miller D | CAR
Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Contributes two assists in win
Miller notched two assists, two shots on goal and two PIM in Friday's 4-3 win over the Jets.
Miller snapped a five-game slump with the effort, which saw him help out on second-period tallies by Jordan Staal and Seth Jarvis. The 25-year-old Miller should be able to see a slightly lighter workload following the return of Jalen Chatfield (concussion). Miller has been a decent all-around option in fantasy when healthy, racking up two goals, eight assists, 33 shots on net, 20 hits, 15 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 15 outings this season.

Jalen Chatfield D | CAR
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Off injured reserve
Chatfield (concussion protocol) has been taken off injured reserve Friday.
Chatfield was described as being a game-time decision, but it seems fair to believe he'll be in the lineup following his activation. The 29-year-old defenseman has three assists, eight PIM, 20 shots, 10 hits and 14 blocks in 13 appearances this season. Mike Reilly might end up being a healthy scratch as a result of Chatfield's return.

Jalen Chatfield D | CAR
Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Game-time decision Friday
Chatfield (concussion protocol) will be a game-time decision in Winnipeg on Friday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Chatfield has sat out the last seven contests. Coach Rod Brind'Amour is hopeful that Chatfield will be able to suit up. Chatfield has three assists in 13 games this season. Should Chatfield play, look for Joel Nystrom or Mike Reilly to be a healthy scratch.

David Jiricek D | PHI
Wild's David Jiricek: Back in AHL
Jiricek was demoted to AHL Iowa on Friday.
Jiricek was a healthy scratch in each of the Wild's last three games. The defenseman was held off the scoresheet in all 12 NHL appearances this season. Jiricek was selected sixth overall by Columbus in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and was traded to the Wild last season. Minnesota activated Zach Bogosian (lower body) off injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Nate Schmidt D | UTA
Mammoth's Nate Schmidt: Nets first goal this season
Schmidt tallied a goal and placed two shots on net in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Vegas.
Schmidt netted the lone goal of the game for Utah near the midway point in the second period. With his first twine finder of the season, the 34-year-old blueliner is up to seven points and 29 shots on net through 21 games this season. Schmidt has done a bit of everything this season for the Mammoth from his spot on the team's second pairing and No. 2 power-play unit. With four points in his last five games, he has decent streaming value in deep leagues until Sean Durzi (shoulder) returns from IR.

Dakota Mermis D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dakota Mermis: Rare goal in overtime loss
Mermis scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Mermis got the Maple Leafs on the board at 14:12 of the second period. This was the defenseman's first point in six NHL appearances this season. He's played primarily on the third pairing and the penalty kill, so don't expect significant offense moving forward. Mermis hadn't scored since the 2023-24 campaign, when he netted a career-best three goals with the Wild.

Zach Werenski D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Racks up three more assists
Werenski registered three assists, six shots on net, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Werenski had a hand in one goal by Dmitri Voronkov and two more by Adam Fantilli as the Blue Jackets leaned on their top players to get this win. During a five-game point streak, Werenski has posted two goals and six assists, as well as 21 shots on net. The 28-year-old defenseman is playing like a star again this year, racking up six goals, 13 helpers, 78 shots, 31 blocks and a plus-9 rating through 21 appearances.

Ben Hutton D | LV
Golden Knights' Ben Hutton: Goal in back-to-back games
Hutton scored a goal, placed four shots on net and recorded a block in Thursday's 4-1 win over Utah.
Hutton netted the second goal of the game just 19 seconds after Jack Eichel opened the scoring early in the middle frame. With the twine finder, the 32-year-old Hutton has two goals, five points, 21 shots on net and 15 blocks through 13 appearances this season. He's stepped up with goals in back-to-back games in the absence of Jeremy Lauzon (undisclosed). While Hutton's depth role caps his ceiling in fantasy, it's an encouraging sign to see him firing the puck and being rewarded. If the Golden Knights experience more injuries on the blue line this season, Hutton should see a heightened role.
-
Shea Theodore D | LV
Golden Knights' Shea Theodore: Hat trick of helpers
Theodore recorded three assists and put three shots on goal in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth.
Thursday marked Theodore's first multi-point performance of the season, as he played a hand in the two goals scored by Jack Eichel and Vegas' final goal, scored by Braeden Bowman. With the trio of apples, the 30-year-old Theodore is up to 10 assists, 12 points, 45 shots on goal and 32 blocks through 20 games this season. In the absence of Alex Pietrangelo (hip) this season, Theodore is averaging a career-high 23:59 of ice time. His increased opportunities, recent hot stretch (seven points in his last six games), and current health are all reasons to value him as a high-level blueliner in fantasy for the rest of the season.

Ethan Edwards D | NJ
Devils' Ethan Edwards: Sent to minors
Edwards was assigned to AHL Utica on Friday.
Edwards was called up by the Devils on Monday but didn't make his NHL debut during his stint with the club. He should have more consistent chances to contribute in the AHL, where he's recorded a goal, four assists and 11 PIM over 13 appearances this season.
