  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Sets up opening goal

Karlsson provided an assist and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Predators.

Karlsson's trip to his home country during Sunday's Global Series game in Sweden was a success. Not only did he help the Penguins secure a shutout win, but he also etched his name on the scoresheet with the primary helper on the opening goal scored by his defense partner, Parker Wotherspoon. Overall, the 35-year-old Karlsson is up to 12 assists, 13 points, 36 shots on goal and 21 blocks through 19 games this season. Even in his 17th season, he remains a solid option in all fantasy formats for his category coverage and offensive output, as he is currently just outside the top 10 in points among NHL defensemen.

  • Maple Leafs' Brandon Carlo: Lands on IR

Carlo (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.

The Maple Leafs recalled Jacob Quillan from AHL Toronto in a corresponding move. Carlo sat out Saturday's 3-2 loss to Chicago and will miss at least two more games, starting with Tuesday's matchup against St. Louis, after landing on the IR list. He has collected two assists, 23 shots on goal, 34 blocked shots and 12 hits through 18 appearances this season.

  • Devils' Ethan Edwards: Summoned from AHL

Edwards was recalled from AHL Utica on Monday.

In a corresponding move, the Devils put Cody Glass (upper body) on injured reserve. Edwards has one goal and four assists in 13 minor-league appearances this season. The 23-year-old will join New Jersey for Monday's practice and serve as a depth defender.

  • Penguins' Parker Wotherspoon: Nets opening goal

Wotherspoon scored a goal, put two shots on net, served two PIM and dished out three hits in Sunday's 4-0 win over Nashville.

Wotherspoon lit the lamp at 2:19 of the first period, which gave the Penguins the only goal they would need to secure Sunday's Global Series game in Sweden. Overall, the 28-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, seven points, 29 hits and 28 blocks through 19 appearances this season. Wotherspoon's first season with the Penguins is well above the pace he needs to set new career highs in many major stat categories. He has been a staple in a top-pairing role for Pittsburgh alongside Erik Karlsson, giving Wotherspoon the chance to find his name on the fantasy radar in certain formats this season.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Four assists in return to lineup

Hughes had four assists, including two on the power play, in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Lightning.

Hughes missed Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Hurricanes with an upper-body injury, but the blueliner couldn't have asked for a better performance in his return. He's now riding a five-game point streak, recording 10 assists over that stretch. Hughes also ranks second among all defensemen in the NHL in assists with 16, tied with Josh Morrissey and only trailing Cale Makar (19).

  • Hurricanes' Domenick Fensore: Rejoins NHL club

Fensore was recalled from AHL Chicago on Sunday.

Fensore is back up with the big club for the third time this season as the Hurricanes continue to navigate their way through multiple injuries on the blue line. The New York native has managed a point-per-game pace in the minors this season -- Fensore has three goals, eight helpers and a plus-4 rating over 11 appearances with the Wolves.

  • Will Borgen D | NYR

Rangers' Will Borgen: Remains out for Sunday's game

Borgen (upper body) won't play in Sunday's game against the Red Wings, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Borgen missed Friday's practice session but was expected to suit up Saturday against the Blue Jackets. However, he was unavailable against Columbus and will be sidelined in the second half of the back-to-back set Sunday. Borgen's next opportunity to suit up will be Tuesday against the Golden Knights.

  • Lightning's Victor Hedman: Unavailable Sunday

Hedman (undisclosed) won't play against Vancouver on Sunday, according to Lightning reporter Gabby Shirley.

Hedman will miss his third straight game, but the Lightning hope to get him back for Tuesday's matchup against New Jersey. He has produced 12 assists, 23 shots on net and 28 blocked shots through 15 appearances this season.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Good to go Sunday

Hughes (upper body) will play against Tampa Bay on Sunday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.

Hughes will return to the top pairing and first power-play unit after missing Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to Carolina. He has compiled one goal, 12 assists, 40 shots on net and 14 blocked shots across 14 appearances this season. Hughes will replace Pierre-Olivier Joseph in Sunday's lineup versus the Lightning.

  • Filip Hronek D | VAN

Canucks' Filip Hronek: Expected to play

Hronek (concussion) is slated to play against Tampa Bay on Sunday, per Patrick Johnston of the Vancouver Province.

Hronek appears to be fine after being pulled from Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to Carolina by a concussion spotter. He has compiled nine assists, 21 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and 39 hits across 19 appearances this season.
