Senators' Tyler Kleven: Inks two-year deal

Kleven signed a two-year, $3.2 million contract with Ottawa on Monday.

Kleven registered four goals, 10 points, 78 shots on net, 97 blocked shots and 105 hits across 79 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He added two assists in six playoff outings. The 23-year-old defender will likely occupy a depth role with the Senators in 2025-26 while seeing ice time on the third pairing.

  • Stars' Alex Petrovic: Waived Saturday

Petrovic was placed on waivers Saturday, per PuckPedia.

Petrovic was a major part of the Stars' playoff run, appearing in 17 of 18 games. He earned two points and added 32 hits, 15 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating. With AHL Texas still competing for the Calder Cup, waiving Petrovic allows him to link up with the minor-league team, assuming he goes unclaimed.

  • Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Cleared to return

Lundkvist (shoulder) received medical clearance to play before Game 5 against Edmonton, according to Stars beat reporter Robert Triffin on Saturday.

After undergoing shoulder surgery in February, Lundkvist missed the final 35 games of the regular season and all 18 of Dallas' playoff contests. He concluded the 2024-25 campaign with five assists, 52 shots on goal, 23 hits and 34 blocked shots across 39 appearances. Lundkvist is eligible for restricted free agency this summer and can file for salary arbitration if necessary.

  • Josh Mahura D | SEA

Kraken's Josh Mahura: Staying in Seattle

Mahura signed a two-year, $1.815 million contract extension with the Kraken on Friday.

Mahura drew into 64 games in 2024-25, earning nine assists, 58 shots on net, 89 hits, 54 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating. The 27-year-old defenseman will be in contention for a bottom-four role throughout 2025-26, but his limited scoring potential -- his career high is 16 points in 2022-23 -- gives him minimal fantasy value.

  • Helge Grans D | PHI

Flyers' Helge Grans: Inks two-year contract

Grans signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract with the Flyers on Friday.

Grans had eight goals, 23 points and 42 PIM in 68 regular-season outings with AHL Lehigh Valley in 2024-25. He also registered an assist across six appearances with the Flyers. The 23-year-old will fight for an NHL roster spot out of training camp, but he might begin the 2025-26 campaign in the minors. That said, his new contract begins as a two-way deal but becomes a one-way contract for 2026-27, which speaks to the Flyers' outlook for the blueliner.

  • Adam Boqvist D | NYI

Islanders' Adam Boqvist: Extending Island stay

Boqvist signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Islanders, the team announced Friday.

Boqvist has bounced between four teams across his six-year NHL career, but he has earned himself an additional season with the Islanders. A midseason waiver claim from Florida, the 24-year-old posted two goals and six assists in 17 games after arriving on Long Island and was a fixture on the team's second power-play unit.

  • Sean Walker D | CAR

Hurricanes' Sean Walker: Battling shoulder injury

Walker did not play in the final three postseason games due to a shoulder injury, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports Friday.

Walker had been dealing with a shoulder injury for the entire postseason, but a hit he took during Game 2 against the Capitals in the second round made it worse and forced him out of the lineup. The injury won't require surgery, and he should be ready for training camp in the fall. The 30-year-old scored a goal and added two assists in 12 postseason games.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Has hip injury

Chatfield missed the final six games of the playoffs with a hip injury, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reported Friday.

Chatfield said that the injury affected his speed. The 29-year-old defenseman had seven goals, 11 assists, 64 hits and 64 blocked shots across 79 regular-season games. He is expected to be fully healthy for the start of training camp in September.

  • Jake Walman D | EDM

Oilers' Jake Walman: Four assists in last four games

Walman delivered two assists in a 6-3 win over the Stars in Game 5 on Thursday.

He also delivered four hits and three blocks. Walman has six points, including five assists, in 16 postseason games, with four of those assists coming in his last four games. Prior to this season, Walman had played in just one postseason contest with St. Louis back in 2020-21.

  • Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Assist in return from injury

Ekholm (undisclosed) played 15:52 in Thursday's 6-3 win in Game 5. He picked up an assist.

Ekholm was also active in the lanes during his playoff debut Thursday, blocking two shots. He acts as a ballast for the Edmonton defense corps and will be especially valuable against the heavy, aggressive Panthers as the two teams battle to lift Lord Stanley.
