  • Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Notches assist Friday

McNabb recorded an assist in Friday's 4-0 win over the Penguins.

McNabb has three points over his last eight outings. The 34-year-old blueliner helped out on Brandon Saad's third-period tally. McNabb continues to see significant minutes in a shutdown role. He's produced 14 points, 73 shots on net, a plus-33 rating, 105 hits and 132 blocked shots through 62 appearances. He's currently on the third pairing officially, but that will likely change once his usual defense partner, Shea Theodore (arm), is able to return from injury.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Still out Friday

Hughes (undisclosed) won't play Friday versus the Wild, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.

Hughes is set to miss a second straight game due to his latest injury. The 25-year-old blueliner had one assist over three contests after recovering from an oblique injury in February. Elias Pettersson remains in the lineup Friday to cover for Hughes' absence.

  • Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Called up

St. Ivany was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday under emergency conditions.

St. Ivany's emergency recall suggests the Penguins don't have six available defensemen for Friday's game versus the Golden Knights. Conor Timmins, who was acquired from the Maple Leafs at the deadline, is unlikely to be available, but there could be another injury concern. St. Ivany has been limited to one assist, 38 hits, 25 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 19 appearances at the NHL level this season.

  • Devils' Seamus Casey: Not on NHL roster

Casey is not listed on the Devils' roster, indicating he was reassigned to AHL Utica on Friday, per the NHL media site.

It's unclear if this is a paper move. Casey's demotion leaves the Devils with just six healthy blueliners -- Jonas Siegenthaler (lower body) is out for the rest of the regular season and Dougie Hamilton (lower body) is out indefinitely. Casey should be eligible for the AHL playoffs, but the Devils may eventually call him back up to provide extra defensive depth in the NHL amid these significant injury absences.

  • Kings' Brandt Clarke: Assigned to AHL

Clarke was sent down to AHL Ontario on Friday.

Time will tell if this is a paper move, but Clarke's ice time has been dropping and the Kings can't afford any passengers in the playoff race. The 22-year-old has also gone seven games without a point at the NHL level and could benefit from regaining confidence in the AHL. He has 25 points over 56 appearances at the NHL level.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Called up after paper move

Mateychuk was called up from AHL Cleveland on Friday.

Mateychuk will be eligible for the AHL playoffs after a pair of paper moves got him down to the AHL and back to the NHL on Friday. The 20-year-old figures to close out 2024-25 with the big club, where he has five points over his first 25 appearances.

  • Henry Thrun D | TOR

    Sharks' Henry Thrun: Activated Friday

Thrun (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Friday.

Thrun should be ready to play Saturday versus the Islanders. This move also indicates that Jimmy Schuldt's demotion Friday is likely to last, as the Sharks won't need an extra defenseman until another injury arises.

  • Blackhawks' Ethan Del Mastro: Returns to NHL

Del Mastro was called up from AHL Rockford on Friday.

As expected, Del Mastro is back with the big club in time for Friday's game versus Utah. He's expected to play on the second pairing and should see steady NHL action through the end of the season.

  • Hurricanes' Riley Stillman: Shipped to AHL

Stillman was assigned to AHL Chicago on Friday.

This move indicates the facial injury Stillman suffered Thursday is not serious, and it also preserves the 26-year-old's playoff eligibility for the Wolves. If the Hurricanes want him back for defensive depth in the NHL, he could be called up again prior to Sunday's game versus the Jets after clearing waivers Friday.

  • Ian Mitchell D | DET

Bruins' Ian Mitchell: Rises to NHL

Mitchell was called up from AHL Providence on Friday.

Mitchell is set to fill a third-pairing role during the ongoing absence of Charlie McAvoy (shoulder). The 26-year-old Mitchell was assigned to AHL earlier Friday to maintain playoff eligibility in that league.
