  • Predators' Jeremy Lauzon: Set for extended absence

Lauzon (lower body) will be shelved for 4-6 weeks, the Predators announced Tuesday.

Given his recovery timeline, Lauzon will be out of action for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign due to his lower-body injury. The blueliner has been sidelined since Dec. 31 versus the Wild. Injuries have limited Lauzon to just 28 games this year in which he registered one assist, 25 assists and 37 PIM while dishing out 127 hits.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Bumped nose, hand fine

Contrary to a previous report, Chabot's hand was not cut at Tuesday's practice. The blueliner had to leave the ice after bumping his nose, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Chabot suffered a broken nose before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, so that's presumably why the bump warranted him exiting practice early. Although he did miss Jan. 16's clash against Washington after being struck in the face by the puck, Chabot featured in the Senators' final 12 games before the break, so unless there's a setback, he should be fine Saturday versus Montreal.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Sustains cut to hand at practice

Chabot left Tuesday's practice session after his hand was cut, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.

The Senators resume play Saturday versus Montreal, so Chabot will have a few days to recover before the club makes a determination on his status. The left-shot blueliner has contribued four goals and 27 points over 55 games this season. If he's forced to miss any time, Tyler Kleven will see an increased role.

  • Sharks' Jack Thompson: Up from AHL

Thompson was summoned from AHL San Jose on Tuesday.

Thompson has registered two goals, three assists, 22 shots on net, 25 blocked shots and nine hits through 18 NHL appearances this season. He played in three straight games with the Sharks before the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off and will probably be in the lineup for Sunday's clash against Calgary.

  • Bruins' Michael Callahan: Brought up from minors

Callahan was recalled from AHL Providence on Tuesday.

Callahan hasn't earned a point in eight NHL appearances this season while posting three shots on goal, nine blocked shots and four hits. He has played in Boston's last four games and will probably be in the lineup for Saturday's matchup versus Anaheim.

  • Simon Nemec D | NJ

Devils' Simon Nemec: Back with New Jersey

Nemec was recalled from AHL Utica on Tuesday.

Nemec was sent to Utica before the 4 Nations Face-Off break, having played in the Devils' last two games. Before that, Nemec hadn't seen any game action with the big club since Oct. 22. Jonas Siegenthaler (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so Nemec could prove his worth over the final stretch of the season on the condition that the former remains sidelined.

  • Devils' Seamus Casey: Joining NHL roster

Casey was recalled from AHL Utica on Tuesday.

Casey has played in just eight NHL games this year, with his most recent outing Oct. 19 versus the Capitals. The 2022 second-round pick has been significantly more productive in the minors, logging three goals and 12 helpers in 22 games for the Comets.

  • Devils' Jonas Siegenthaler: Shifted to IR

Siegenthaler (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Siegenthaler has already missed two games due to his undisclosed injury, so he could technically be activated ahead of Saturday's clash with Dallas. Having said that, it seems unlikely the Devils would have made this move if the 27-year-old blueliner was available to play. As such, fantasy players should probably be expecting Siegenthaler to be out against Dallas and Nashville on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

  • Blackhawks' Ethan Del Mastro: Back with big club

Del Mastro was summoned from AHL Rockford on Tuesday, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Del Mastro has produced one assist, two shots on goal, one blocked shot and 13 hits through six NHL appearances this season. He has played in Chicago's last three games and will probably be in the lineup for Saturday's matchup versus Columbus.

  • Quinn Hughes D | MIN

Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Joining Team USA in Boston

Hughes (oblique) is joining Team USA ahead of the team's 4 Nations Face-Off championship game against Canada on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports Tuesday.

With the news of Charlie McAvoy being ruled out for Thursday's game due to an upper-body injury, the Americans were allowed to add Hughes to their roster. While his presence should be a boost for his teammates, Hughes will not be eligible to play unless the team endures another injury, according to Friedman. Hughes' addition to the roster could indicate he'll be ready to go for the Canucks' road matchup against the Golden Knights on Saturday.
