  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Drawing start against Florida

Gibson will defend the road crease in Wednesday's regular-season finale against Florida, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Gibson hasn't been particularly sharp in recent weeks, going 2-4-1 with a 3.74 GAA and .876 save percentage over his last seven appearances. He made a pair of starts against the Panthers in March and went 0-2-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .880 save percentage.

  • Dylan Garand G | NYR

Rangers' Dylan Garand: Patrolling crease versus Bolts

Garand is slated to start Wednesday's road clash with Tampa Bay, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

Garand will get the final start of the season while making just his third NHL appearance. In his prior two outings, the 23-year-old backstop went 1-0-1 with a 1.44 GAA. While Igor Shesterkin will remain the No. 1 option in the Big Apple next year, Garand should be in line to step up as the backup now that Jonathan Quick is hanging up his skates.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Set to start season finale

Knight is expected to patrol the crease at home versus San Jose on Wednesday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Knight will be making his 55th appearance of the season, having gone 18-25-11 with a 2.84 GAA, .902 save percentage and three shutouts. If the 24-year-old netminder can get some additional support next year, he should be capable of reaching the 20-win threshold for the first time in his career, especially if he can maintain those decent ratios.

  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Tending twine Wednesday

Hildeby will defend the cage on the road versus Ottawa on Wednesday, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.

Hildeby hasn't appeared in an NHL game since Jan. 19 versus the Wild. Overall, the 24-year-old netminder has posted a 5-6-4 record, 2.90 GAA and one shutout in 19 games for the Leafs. Heading into next season, Hildeby will need to edge out Joseph Woll or Anthony Stolarz (lower body) for a spot on the Opening Night roster.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Not starting after all

Bobrovsky will not get the starting nod versus Detroit on Wednesday, contrary to an earlier report.

Bobrovsky may be seeing his tenure with the Panthers come to a close from the bench, as the veteran netminder's current contract expires in the summer. Daniil Tarasov has seen the bulk of the playing time down the stretch after the Panthers essentially decided to close up shop for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Between pipes versus Wings

Tarasov will tend the twine at home against Detroit on Wednesday.

Tarasov has seen an increased workload down the stretch in a lost season for the Panthers, supplanting Sergei Bobrovsky as the No. 1 option. The 27-year-old Tarasov has gone 3-4-1 with a 3.54 GAA and .887 save percentage in his last nine appearances. With Bobrovsky's contract set to expire in the offseason, Tarasov is receiving a longer look to see if he's capable of handling a larger role in 2026-27.

  • Devils' Nico Daws: Sent down to minors

Daws was reassigned to AHL Utica on Wednesday.

Daws played in just three games for the Devils this season, posting a 2-1-0 record, 2.62 GAA and .908 save percentage. With both Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen still under contract next year, Daws' path to significant NHL opportunities seems blocked, though perhaps he can force his way into the conversation during training camp.

  • James Reimer G | OTT

Senators' James Reimer: Drawing start Wednesday

Reimer will start Wednesday's home game against the Maple Leafs, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.

Reimer made his first appearance of April in a 4-3 overtime loss to New Jersey on Sunday, and he'll draw a second consecutive start. Across 13 appearances for Ottawa in 2025-26, the 38-year-old has gone 6-4-2 with a 2.53 GAA and .881 save percentage. Despite Reimer's back-to-back starts to end the regular season, Linus Ullmark should serve as the primary netminder during the playoffs.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Gets little help in Tuesday's loss

Rittich turned aside 19 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Goals by Nikolaj Ehlers in the first period and Mark Jankowski in the third sent Rittich to the loss in the Islanders' season finale. The 33-year-old Rittich wraps up his first, and potentially his last, season on Long Island with a 14-10-3 record, a 2.76 GAA and an .894 save percentage. Rittich will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and shouldn't have trouble finding a landing spot with a team in need of an experienced No. 2.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Sharp in Tuesday's finale

Bussi stopped 28 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Islanders.

Pyotr Kochetkov was supposed to start the regular-season finale and even took part in warmups. However, he was ineligible to play due to what the team described as a "roster technicality." As a result, Bussi was in action for a second straight night and played well. He wraps up his first NHL campaign with a 31-6-2 record, a 2.47 GAA and an .894 save percentage. The 27-year-old netminder went 6-0-1 over his final seven starts with a 2.53 GAA and .887 save percentage. It's not yet clear which goalie will get the nod between the pipes when Carolina begins its postseason run.
