Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Light workload in overtime win
Kuemper made 12 saves in a 4-3 overtime win over Toronto on Thursday.

Dennis Hildeby G | TOR
Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Fourth straight outing
Hildeby made 33 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to Los Angeles on Thursday.
It was Hildeby's fourth straight appearance since being recalled Saturday. He did his part, but his mates didn't. They continued to give up too many chances while failing to get volume on Darcy Kuemper. Hildeby faced 37 shots, while Kuemper saw just 15.

John Gibson G | DET
Red Wings' John Gibson: Sustains upper-body injury
Gibson (upper body) will be evaluated in the coming days after exiting Thursday's game versus the Ducks, Max Bultman of The Athletic reports.
Gibson appeared to get clipped by an opposing player late in the second period and ultimately didn't return for the third. The 32-year-old allowed two goals on 17 shots prior to his exit. Gibson can be considered day-to-day until the Red Wings establish a timeline for him, but expect the team to be cautious since he has a lengthy injury history.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Isn't starting Thursday
Luukkonen won't start in Thursday's road game against Colorado despite a previous report to the contrary, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Luukkonen has a record of 1-1-1 with a 2.90 GAA and an .877 save percentage in three appearances this season. Alex Lyon is expected to start Thursday. Colten Ellis is also on the active roster, and Luukkonen is seeing limited work despite appearing in over 50 games in each of the previous two campaigns.

Alex Lyon G | BUF
Sabres' Alex Lyon: In goal Thursday
Lyon will start in goal on the road versus the Avalanche on Thursday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
This is contrary to a previous report that said Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen would start, but Lyon was the first goalie on the ice Thursday for warmups. Since the Sabres are carrying three goalies, it's unlikely this is an injury situation and simply just a mix-up. Lyon has lost his last four outings (0-1-3) with 14 goals allowed on 129 shots in that span.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Tending twine in Detroit
Dostal will guard the road goal versus the Red Wings on Thursday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.
Dostal will make his third straight start. He saw a six-game winning streak end Tuesday against the Avalanche when he allowed three goals on 35 shots. The Red Wings could offer a good bounce-back opportunity, as they have won just two of their last six games, scoring just nine goals in that span with both wins coming in the shootout.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen G | BUF
Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Set to start Thursday
Luukkonen is expected to start on the road against Colorado on Thursday, per Michael Augello of The Hockey News.
Luukkonen has a record of 1-1-1 with a 2.90 GAA and an .877 save percentage this season. He missed the start of the campaign due to a lower-body injury, but he's appeared in just three of Buffalo's past eight games since returning. Buffalo also has Alex Lyon and Colten Ellis on the roster, which has contributed to Luukkonen's light workload. A solid start against Colorado would help him in his fight for a bigger role, but the Avalanche are an extremely difficult adversary -- they're 11-1-5 and rank first in goals per game with 4.00.

Connor Hellebuyck G | WPG
Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Expected to start Thursday
Hellebuyck is going through his usual starting routine and is slated to start in Seattle on Thursday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Hellebuyck is only 7-5-0, but his peripherals are among the NHL leaders, as he has a 2.36 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 12 appearances. Hellebuyck will face the Kraken, who are 31st in NHL scoring, generating only 2.50 goals per game.

Akira Schmid G | LV
Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Set to start Thursday
Schmid is expected to start at home against the Islanders on Thursday, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Schmid stopped 25 of 29 shots en route to a 4-3 overtime loss to Anaheim in his last start Saturday. He's 6-1-1 with a 2.51 GAA and a .901 save percentage in eight outings this year. The Islanders are 8-6-2 and rank 10th in goals per game with 3.31.

Yaroslav Askarov G | SJ
Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Tending twine Thursday
Askarov will patrol the crease on the road against the Flames on Thursday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Askarov is riding a four-game winning streak during which he posted a 1.23 GAA and a .963 save percentage. After an underwhelming start to the year, in which the 23-year-old netminder recorded a disastrous 4.69 GAA, it seems Askarov has rediscovered his form.
