  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine against Columbus

Skinner will serve as the starting netminder for Monday's home game against the Blue Jackets, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.

Skinner hasn't been particularly sharp recently, going 1-1-2 with a 3.58 GAA and .875 save percentage over his last four starts. He was chased from Saturday's start against the Avalanche after allowing four goals on 13 shots (.692 save percentage), but he'll attempt to right the ship against the Blue Jackets, who are scoring 3.07 goals per game this year, which is tied for 16th in the NHL.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: First goalie off Monday

Sorokin was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports, signaling that he'll draw the road start against New Jersey.

Sorokin is coming off his first shutout win of the season, as he turned aside all 33 shots he faced against the Rangers on Saturday. He'll attempt to remain effective against a more formidable opponent in the Devils, who have scored 3.40 goals per game this year, which ranks seventh in the NHL.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Starting against Nashville

Shesterkin was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Predators.

Shesterkin enters Monday's matchup in the midst of a two-game losing streak, but he'll have a favorable matchup against the Predators, who have scored just 2.53 goals per game to begin the regular season, which is the third-worst mark in the league. Over 12 starts this year, Shesterkin has gone 4-6-2 with a 2.41 GAA and .909 save percentage.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Struggles against low volume

Gibson made 15 saves on 19 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Blackhawks.

Despite allowing four goals in Sunday's contest, three of those tallies came with a man advantage for Chicago, meaning Gibson allowed just one even-strength goal in garbage time. Overall, the 32-year-old has a 4-5-0 record with a 3.15 GAA and an .882 save percentage across nine appearances. After winning four of his first six appearances, Gibson has dropped three straight starts and is trending downward in fantasy. He is a risky spot start in all formats and is best left to waivers until he works his way back into the win column. Detroit's next game is at home versus Anaheim on Thursday, which would be Cam Talbot's turn in the crease, but the Red Wings may let Gibson get another look at his former team instead.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Sets career high in saves

Soderblom stopped 45 of 46 shots on goal in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.

Outside of a goal scored by Dylan Larkin four minutes into the contest, Soderblom thrived against a high shot volume. Sunday's performance became one to remember for the 26-year-old goaltender as he set a new career high in saves. Overall, Soderblom has a 2-2-1 record with a 2.63 GAA and a .913 save percentage across five appearances this year. It will take a few more strong outings for Soderblom to raise himself into fantasy relevance, but Sunday's performance could lead to more opportunities to guard the crease moving forward. That said, Spencer Knight has also played well, which may be enough to keep Soderblom in the backup role.

  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Makes 42 saves in loss

Hildeby stopped 42 of 47 shots in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Hurricanes.

Hildeby's final stat line might not look all that impressive, but considering the workload he had to endure, he deserves some credit for stopping 40-plus shots. The 24-year-old has appeared in back-to-back games for the Maple Leafs, posting a 0-1-0 record while allowing six goals on 67 shots. However, chances are Anthony Stolarz will return to the crease when Toronto takes on Boston at TD Garden on Tuesday.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Earns win despite allowing four

Bussi stopped 16 of 20 shots in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Maple Leafs.

Bussi was making his first start since Oct. 30, when he stopped 26 of 28 shots in a 6-2 win over the Islanders. While he earned the win in this matchup, allowing four goals on 20 shots isn't what most fantasy managers would want from a netminder. Bussi has done a good job piling up wins, though. He's won four of his five starts this season, going 4-1-0 with a 2.60 GAA and an .898 save percentage. He's unlikely to play much in a crowded crease, as the Hurricanes also have Pyotr Kochetkov as a backup option behind Frederik Andersen.

  • Stars' Casey DeSmith: Concedes one goal Sunday

DeSmith stopped 30 of 31 shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Kraken.

DeSmith has won his last two starts, and three of the last four, while posting a 2.16 GAA and a .918 save percentage over that stretch. He's not expected to take over the starting role from Jake Oettinger any time soon. Still, he's putting up solid numbers as a reliable backup, which would certainly allow Dallas to rest Oettinger a bit more frequently.

  • Matt Murray G | SEA

Kraken's Matt Murray: Remains winless after Sunday

Murray stopped 22 of 24 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Stars.

Murray was beaten twice in the first period, but even though he looked solid the rest of the way, he was unable to pick up his first win of the season. The 31-year-old goaltender has gone 0-2-0 with a 2.72 GAA and .900 save percentage in three appearances this season. However, as the backup behind Philipp Grubauer while Joey Daccord (upper body) is on the shelf, Murray isn't expected to see a lot of playing time any time soon.

  • Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Handed overtime loss

Lankinen stopped 27 of 32 shots in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Avalanche.

Starting on consecutive days, Lankinen had his hands full with a tough opponent. The 30-year-old netminder never received a lead to protect, though he did a decent job of making sure the deficit never got larger than two goals. He's now 3-4-1 with a 3.71 GAA and an .879 save percentage over eight starts. Thatcher Demko (undisclosed) is likely to resume No. 1 goalie duties once healthy, but it's unclear when that will happen. In the meantime, Lankinen appears set for most of the starts, as the Canucks appear reluctant to get Jiri Patera involved in anything more than an emergency capacity. The Canucks host the Jets on Tuesday before embarking on a three-game road trip that starts Friday in Raleigh against the Hurricanes.
