  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Set to start Tuesday

Ullmark is slated to start Tuesday's road game against Chicago, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

While Leevi Merilainen will draw the start at home against the Bruins on Monday, Ullmark will return to the net for the second half of the back-to-back set. Over his first eight starts of the season, Ullmark has gone 4-3-1 with a 3.11 GAA and .870 save percentage.

  • Senators' Hunter Shepard: Called up by Ottawa

Shepard was recalled from AHL Belleville on Monday.

Shepard was sent to the minors ahead of the regular season, but he'll rejoin the Senators ahead of a back-to-back set to begin the week. However, Shepard is expected to dress as a backup over the team's next two games, as Leevi Merilainen will serve as the starting netminder Monday against Boston, while Linus Ullmark will start in Chicago on Tuesday.

  • Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Loses in overtime

Pickard stopped 23 of 27 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.

Pickard was sharp enough in the third period to get the game to overtime, but he was beaten on a Kiefer Sherwood tip-in goal 1:43 into the extra session. With at least four goals allowed in each of his last three outings, Pickard is not playing well enough in the backup role to provide a meaningful challenge to Stuart Skinner's starting job. If both goalies continue to top out at average, the Oilers will likely feel pressure to make a change in the crease, and Pickard's $1 million cap hit makes him the easier netminder to move out in a trade. The Oilers don't have a back-to-back within the next week, so it's unclear when Pickard will get his next start.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Fends off Oilers in overtime win

Demko stopped 26 of 29 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers.

It wasn't the prettiest performance, especially after blowing a 3-1 lead in the third period, but Demko ultimately got the job done. He's won three of his last four starts, though he has allowed three goals in three of those games. The 29-year-old goalie is at a 4-2-0 record with a 2.36 GAA and a .922 save percentage over six outings. Demko has alternated starts with Kevin Lankinen for much of the season, but the former is getting the better results and may earn a majority of the playing time. The Canucks host the Rangers on Tuesday.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Let down by teammates again

Shesterkin allowed five goals on 30 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Flames.

Shesterkin was let down by his teammates again, with odd bounces and screens leading to three goals and a shorthanded rush by the Flames accounting for another one. Overall, the Rangers' defensive play remains unorganized, and the offense hasn't done enough to overcome those lapses yet. It's starting to wear on Shesterkin's numbers -- he's allowed 11 goals on 54 shots over his last two outings to firmly non-playoff teams in the Sharks and the Flames. He's at a 2-4-2 record on the year but still has a strong 2.25 GAA and .916 save percentage through eight starts. The Rangers' next game is in Vancouver on Tuesday.

  • Dustin Wolf G | CGY

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Sharp in Sunday's win

Wolf stopped 30 of 31 shots in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Rangers.

In a battle between two low-scoring teams, Wolf made sure that status held for the Rangers while the Flames provided a rare burst of support for their goalie. This was Wolf's best game of the year and snapped his 0-6-1 skid since his Opening Night shootout win over the Oilers. Wolf is now 2-6-1 with a 3.37 GAA and an .886 save percentage. His numbers should continue to improve, but the Flames have largely struggled defensively, so improvement may not be linear. Wolf can be expected to start Tuesday in Toronto to open up a four-game road trip. He is likely to start as many as three games during that week-long trip.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Decent effort in loss

Soderblom allowed two goals on 21 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Kings. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Soderblom didn't play poorly, but the Kings' pair of goals in a span of 1:24 during the second period ended up being the difference. This outing dropped Soderblom to a 1-1-1 record with nine goals allowed on 80 shots through three appearances. With how well Spencer Knight has played early in 2025-26, it's unlikely Soderblom will see much more than a backup role most of the time. The Blackhawks have yet to play back-to-back days, but Soderblom is virtually guaranteed a start in each of those sets as well as picking up the occasional assignment to give Knight rest.

  • Kings' Anton Forsberg: Wins in Chicago

Forsberg stopped 22 of 23 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks.

Forsberg had his best outing of the season while playing in the second half of a back-to-back set. Connor Bedard had the lone goal against him at 7:04 of the first period, but Forsberg and the Kings' defense combined to keep things locked down from there. Through four outings, he is 2-1-1 with 13 goals allowed on 123 shots. He's had some bumpy moments to start the season, but with Darcy Kuemper healthy again, Forsberg should be able to settle into the backup role and produce numbers worthy of being a streaming option in fantasy. The Kings' next game is Tuesday in San Jose.

  • Golden Knights' Carl Lindbom: Valiant effort in NHL debut

Lindbom stopped 26 shots on 28 attempts on net in Sunday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Lightning.

Despite a strong outing between the pipes from Lindbom, the Golden Knights fell flat on offense for the second straight night, as they were held to one goal over their weekend slate. The 22-year-old netminder kept Tampa Bay off the scoresheet for roughly one hour, as he allowed a goal five minutes into regulation and wouldn't be beaten again until there were 30 seconds left in overtime. His performance should warrant him more opportunities at the NHL level while Vegas' starting goaltender Adin Hill is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury. If Lindbom can post another solid outing to prove his NHL debut wasn't a fluke, he could be a solid option for spot starts in fantasy until Hill returns.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Coasts to first victory Sunday

Vasilevskiy stopped 18 of 19 shots in Sunday's 2-1 overtime win against the Golden Knights.

Vasilevskiy had a relatively quiet night in net as he faced just eight shots across the first two periods. Regardless, the 31-year-old stayed focused en route to his first win of the season. He has a 1-3-2 record, 3.00 GAA and .892 save percentage through six appearances. It appears that Vasilevskiy is shaking off the rust he experienced in the first few games of the season, as he's allowed just six goals in his last three starts. Expect many more wins to follow for Vasilevskiy, who has 30 or more victories in each of the past eight seasons.
