  • Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: In goal for preseason finale

Kochetkov will defend the road net against Nashville on Saturday in exhibition action, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Kochetkov missed some time during training camp due to a minor injury, but he will return to the crease in Carolina's preseason finale. He earned a 27-16-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.60 GAA and an .897 save percentage across 47 appearances during the 2024-25 regular season. Kochetkov is poised to split starts with Frederik Andersen in the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Set to start Saturday

Kuemper is expected to guard the home goal for Saturday's preseason game against Anaheim, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.

Kuemper had a 31-11-7 record, 2.02 GAA and .921 save percentage across 50 regular-season appearances with the Kings in 2024-25. He's expected to open this season as LA's No. 1 netminder, so he'll probably also get the nod for Tuesday's regular-season opener versus Colorado.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Between pipes Saturday

Saros will patrol the home crease in Saturday's preseason finale against Carolina, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Saros will make his fourth appearance of the exhibition schedule, having posted a 1.80 GAA over 99:46 of playing time in his previous three outings. He posted a 20-31-6 record with four shutouts, a 2.98 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 58 regular-season games in 2024-25.

  • Panthers' Brandon Bussi: Shifts to waivers

Bussi was placed on waivers Saturday, per PuckPedia.

Bussi had a 15-14-3 record with a 2.77 GAA and a .907 save percentage over 33 regular-season appearances for AHL Providence in 2024-25. If he clears waivers, he will begin the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Charlotte.

  • Sharks' Jakub Skarek: Returned to minors

Skarek was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Saturday.

Skarek was the backup netminder behind Alex Nedeljkovic in Friday's 4-1 preseason win over Vegas. The 25-year-old Skarek passed through waivers Wednesday, and he will begin the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Tending twine Saturday

Askarov will patrol the visiting crease in Utah on Saturday, per Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Askarov will probably start Opening Night versus Vegas on Thursday. He has been considered the Sharks' goaltender of the future since being acquired from Nashville in August of 2024. During the 2024-25 regular season, Askarov was 4-6-2 with a 3.10 GAA and an .896 save percentage across 13 appearances with the Sharks in 2024-25. He was superb at the AHL level last year, posting an 11-9-1 mark with a 2.45 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 22 regular-season games.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Facing Rangers

Swayman will be between the home pipes versus the Rangers on Saturday, per Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe.

Swayman is looking to rebound from a terrible 2024-25 regular season, in which he posted a 22-29-7 record with a 3.11 GAA and an .892 save percentage. He was behind the eight ball to start the year after missing training camp because of a contract holdout. He inked an eight-year deal just before the start of the 2024-25 campaign, and never seemed to develop a groove. The Bruins need stellar goalkeeping from Swayman if the team hopes to contend for the playoffs.

Blues' Joel Hofer: Starting in Chicago

Hofer will guard the road goal in Saturday's preseason finale against the Blackhawks, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

  • Oilers' Matt Tomkins: Returned to Bakersfield

Tomkins was sent to AHL Bakersfield on Saturday.

The Oilers recalled Tomkins on Friday to back up Calvin Pickard because Stuart Skinner was unable to play due to illness. Tomkins was 12-10-4 with a 2.55 GAA and a .907 save percentage with AHL Syracuse across 26 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Tomkins is currently fourth on Edmonton's organizational depth chart behind Skinner, Pickard and recent trade acquisition Connor Ingram.

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

    Devils' Jake Allen: Facing Flyers

Allen will defend the road net in preseason action against Philadelphia on Saturday, Jonathan Bailey of The Hockey News reports.

Allen earned a 13-16-1 record with a 2.66 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 31 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He will play in New Jersey's preseason finale before assuming the role of the team's No. 2 netminder behind Jacob Markstrom during the 2025-26 campaign.
