  • Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Gets no help in loss

Kochetkov made 15 saves in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Sabres.

After a scoreless first period, Tage Thompson ripped a puck past Kochetkov just 92 seconds into the second frame, and it was all the support James Reimer would need in the other crease. Kochetkov is stumbling toward the finish line on the regular season, going 1-4-0 over his last five starts with a 4.28 GAA and .809 save percentage, which may put Frederik Andersen in the driver's seat to be the Hurricanes' No. 1 goalie in the playoffs.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Expected to face Toronto

Vasilevskiy is slated to start at home against the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, according to Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun.

Vasilevskiy has a 37-20-3 record, 2.14 GAA and .922 save percentage in 60 appearances this campaign. As good as he's been in 2024-25, he's done even better recently, posting a 7-2-0 record, 1.33 GAA and .944 save percentage over his past nine outings. Toronto ranks eighth in goals per game with 3.25, though the Maple Leafs are playing on no rest after suffering a 3-1 loss to Florida on Tuesday.

  • Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Leaves ice first Wednesday

Quick was the first goalie to get off the ice Wednesday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus the Flyers.

Quick will take the first game of the Rangers' back-to-back, which means Igor Shesterkin will likely get the nod on the road versus the Islanders on Thursday. If the Rangers are officially eliminated from playoff contention, which seems likely given the eight-point gap in the standings, the team could decide to give Quick at least one more start in the final few games of the year.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Struggles in Tuesday's loss

Markstrom saved 16 of 23 shots on goal in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Bruins.

Tuesday's performance is an outing that Markstrom will quickly have to put behind him with New Jersey almost guaranteed to see playoff hockey in just over a week's time. He allowed two goals in each of the first two periods before he allowed three in the first 10 minutes of the third period. With the loss, the 35-year-old Markstrom has a 26-15-6 record with a 2.53 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 48 games this year. Tuesday's loss ended Markstrom's four-game winning streak and was his first loss in regulation since March 20 against his former team in Calgary. He still has solid value in all fantasy formats if he can bounce back quickly. His next opportunity to start between the pipes is Friday against the Penguins.

  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Wins second straight start

Swayman stopped 19 of 21 shots on net in Tuesday's 7-2 win over New Jersey.

Swayman was near perfect Tuesday outside of a 19-second collapse in the second period, where he surrendered New Jersey's only goals of the night. With the win, the 26-year-old netminder has a 22-28-6 record with a 3.06 GAA and a .895 save percentage in 56 appearances this season. While Swayman will likely chalk this campaign as a year to forget, he should have a few more opportunities to end the regular season on a high note. Boston's top goaltender has wins in back-to-back games and will look to extend this winning streak in one of Boston's final three regular-season outings. His next opportunity to guard the crease is at home Thursday against Chicago.

  • Islanders' Marcus Hogberg: Loses in relief appearance

Hogberg conceded three goals on nine shots after coming on in relief for Ilya Sorokin (upper body) in the third period of Tuesday's 7-6 overtime loss to Nashville.

New York was leading 6-4 late in the third period, but the Predators were able to score twice, once on the power play, in the final 2:07 to send the game to overtime. Hogberg was 0-2-1 with a 3.98 GAA and an .866 save percentage across his last four outings prior to Tuesday, so it wasn't exactly ideal that he had to come in cold in a matchup that finished with 13 total goals. Since the Islanders are effectively eliminated from postseason contention, the team may choose to be cautious with Sorokin, so Hogberg could conclude the season as the club's No. 1 netminder.

  • Predators' Justus Annunen: Victorious in high-scoring affair

Annunen made 16 saves on 22 shots in Tuesday's 7-6 overtime win over the Islanders.

Annunen was far from perfect in this back-and-forth contest, but the Predators were able to net a pair of goals late in the final frame to force overtime -- Fedor Svechkov went on to pot the game-winner. This was Annunen's first victory since March 8 versus Chicago, and he now holds a 9-10-1 record, .889 save percentage and 3.12 GAA over 22 appearances with Nashville after being acquired from Colorado in November. The Preds will face Vegas, Dallas and Utah twice to close out their season.

  • Golden Knights' Akira Schmid: Steady in shootout loss

Schmid allowed two goals on 36 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Avalanche.

Schmid put in a good performance but wasn't able to get a win out of it. He allowed both goals in the second period and then gave up the lone tally in the shootout. He's 1-0-1 with four goals allowed on 73 shots (.945 save percentage) through four outings this season. He'll continue to be on the big club's roster as long as Ilya Samsonov (upper body) is unavailable. Adin Hill should be expected to start at home Thursday versus the Kraken.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Gets shootout win Tuesday

Wedgewood stopped 19 of 21 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

Wedgewood gave up the first two goals of the game but settled in after that. This was Wedgewood's seventh win in eight games since the start of March, a span in which he's allowed just 13 goals on 186 shots. The 32-year-old netminder is at 13-6-2 with a 2.33 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 23 appearances this season between Colorado and Nashville. The Avalanche are almost guaranteed to be the No. 3 seed in the Central Division, so it wouldn't be surprising for Wedgewood to start one of the Avalanche's last three contests, likely during this weekend's back-to-back.

  • Kraken's Victor Ostman: Makes NHL debut in relief

Ostman stopped all 12 shots he faced in relief of Joey Daccord in Tuesday's 7-1 loss to Utah.

Ostman was sharp, though Utah had eased up a bit after torching Daccord for seven goals on 29 shots. Ostman spent much of the campaign at ECHL Kansas City, going 21-7-4 with a 2.52 GAA and a .903 save percentage. He's also made four AHL appearances with a 2-1-1 record, 2.00 GAA and a .927 save percentage. His stay in the NHL is likely to be short, and the 24-year-old is likely looking at another year or two of AHL action before contending for an NHL job despite this respectable debut with the Kraken.
