DeSmith is expected to start at home against Columbus on Sunday, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine.
DeSmith has a 7-6-0 record, 2.42 GAA and .913 save percentage in 15 appearances in 2024-25. He posted a 33-save shutout victory over St. Louis on Jan. 25. The Blue Jackets rank eighth in goals per game with 3.27.

Ullmark (back) was activated from long-term injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.
Ottawa assigned Leevi Merilainen to AHL Belleville in a corresponding move. Ullmark could return to the crease in Monday's road matchup versus Nashville after missing the last 18 games. He has posted a 12-7-2 record with three shutouts, a 2.38 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 23 appearances this season.

Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Heads to AHL
Merilainen was reassigned to AHL Belleville on Sunday.
Merilainen has been outstanding for Ottawa, posting an 8-3-1 record, 1.99 GAA and .925 save percentage across 12 outings this season. He earned a 16-save shutout victory over Minnesota on Saturday. However, Linus Ullmark (back) is off injured reserve, so Merilainen was sent to the minors to make room. Anton Forsberg is set to serve as Ullmark's backup.

Knight will get the second half of Florida's back-to-back after Sergei Bobrovsky played in Saturday's 5-1 win over Chicago. The 23-year-old Knight has lost his last two outings, surrendering five goals on 53 shots. Quick will get the second half of the Rangers' back-to-back after Igor Shesterkin played in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Boston. The 39-year-old Quick has allowed 16 goals on 103 shots during his three-game (0-1-2) losing skid. He has a 6-5-2 record with two shutouts, a 3.11 GAA and an .897 save percentage through 16 appearances this season. Vegas ranks fourth in the league with 3.35 goals per game in 2024-25.
