Williams was believed to have a chance at starting opposite Trent McDuffie going into the 2024 campaign, but Jaylen Watson ended up taking over that role. Williams is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025.

Williams played 21 snaps (13 on defense, eight on special teams) and recorded one tackle in Saturday's preseason game against Detroit. With Kansas City playing against Chicago on Thursday, it's unlikely that the 2022 fourth-round pick will suit up for the preseason finale. Williams is slated to serve as the second starting cornerback opposite Trent McDuffie.
