New NFL Playoff Teams For 2026: Chiefs

Fantasy News

  • Titans' Josh Williams: Headed to Tennessee

Williams and the Titans agreed on a two-year contract Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Williams will head to Tennessee after four seasons with the Chiefs, most recently operating primarily as a special-teams asset in 2025. The cornerback played in 15 regular-season contests, logging 255 of his 272 total snaps with the special teams unit, ultimately compiling six total tackles (four solo) during the 2025 campaign. Williams will now look to compete for a starting role in the Titans' secondary in 2026, while the team has also added Alontae Taylor from the Saints and Cor'Dale Flott from the Giants at cornerback so far in free agency.

  • Chiefs' Josh Williams: Splits time again this season

Williams played on 393 defensive snaps and on 220 special-teams snaps during the 2024 regular season, recording 33 tackles (19 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and six pass breakups. The 2022 fourth-round pick's snap counts were similar the last two years: 312 on defense and 303 on special teams in 2023 and 414 on defense and 215 on special teams in 2022. Williams was believed to have a chance at starting opposite Trent McDuffie going into the 2024 campaign, but Jaylen Watson ended up taking over that role. Williams is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025.

  • Chiefs' Joshua Williams: Full participant in practice

Williams (chest) was a full participant in Kansas City's practice Wednesday. Williams suffered a chest injury during the team's Week 14 win over the Chargers but is now healthy once again. The 25-year-old will be good to go for Sunday's game versus Browns where he will look to contribute on both defense and special teams.

  • Chiefs' Joshua Williams: Questionable to return Sunday

Williams (chest) is questionable to return to Sunday night's contest against the Chargers, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Williams went back to the locker room with a chest injury in the second half, placing some doubt on his chances to return to the field. In his absence, Keith Taylor stands to see an uptick in usage at cornerback versus Los Angeles.

  • Chiefs' Joshua Williams: Dealing with hamstring injury

Williams did not participate in Tuesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports. Williams played 21 snaps (13 on defense, eight on special teams) and recorded one tackle in Saturday's preseason game against Detroit. With Kansas City playing against Chicago on Thursday, it's unlikely that the 2022 fourth-round pick will suit up for the preseason finale. Williams is slated to serve as the second starting cornerback opposite Trent McDuffie.
