Dolphins' Kenneth Grant: Room for growth after rookie year
Rotowire
Grant tallied 33 tackles (15 solo), including 2.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season appearances with the Dolphins in 2025. He also had one pass defensed.
Grant, a 2025 first-round pick, struggled early in his rookie season but showed some flashes down the stretch. Despite his improvements late in the year, the former Michigan standout never quite developed into a reliable starter for Miami's interior defensive line, with his struggles against the run being especially disappointing considering Grant's 6-foot-3, 335-pound frame. If Grant is able to take a step forward in his development under new head coach Jeff Hafley this offseason, though, he'll have clear path to opening 2026 as a starter alongside Zach Sieler.

Dolphins' Kenneth Grant: Healthy for Week 1

Grant (undisclosed) did not appear on the Dolphins' injury report Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the team's official site reports.
Grant has been dealing with an undisclosed injury over the last two weeks, but he is now back to full health before Week 1. The 21-year-old will likely operate as the top reserve option behind Benito Jones and Zach Sieler on Miami's defensive line in Sunday's regular-season opener versus the Colts.

Dolphins' Kenneth Grant: On track to play Week 1
Rotowire
Head coach Mike McDaniel relayed Monday that Grant (undisclosed) is not in danger of missing the Dolphins' regular-season opener against the Colts on Sunday, Sept. 7, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
The 2025 first-rounder has been working through an undisclosed issue, which prevented him from playing in the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Jaguars on Saturday. The nature of Grant's injury isn't clear, but his practice participation over the next two weeks will provide clarity on his chances of making his NFL regular-season debut in Week 1. He should see a heavy dose of rotational snaps at defensive tackle alongside presumptive starters Benito Jones and Zach Sieler.

Dolphins' Kenneth Grant: Miami adds big tackle 13th overall
Rotowire
The Dolphins selected Grant in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 13th overall.
Grant (6-foot-4, 330 pounds) is a uniquely massive defensive tackle prospect who can hold down double teams yet has the athleticism (5.13-second 40-yard dash, 31-inch vertical) to project as more disruptive than most nose tackle types. Although he was not regarded quite as highly as fifth overall pick, former Michigan teammate Mason Graham, it would be a disappointment if Grant isn't one of the league's better defensive tackles within a year or two. It's possible that Grant never emerges as a standout IDP, but his ability to occupy blockers will make his teammates better at the very least.
