Jackson, who was serving a one-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, had his suspension lifted Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Jackson is currently a free agent and last played for the Patriots. The Maryland product had a rough 2023, which saw him benched by the Chargers, traded to New England where his struggles continued, and then placed on the reserve/non-football illness list due to personal issues.

Patriots' J.C. Jackson: May not go to Germany
Rotowire
Jackson is not expected to travel with the Patriots to Germany for Sunday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Rapoport states that there are questions about Jackson's reliability and a decision was made to have him stay home, get through the bye and return in a better place. The Maryland product has appeared in five games for the Patriots this season, since being acquired from the Chargers on Oct. 4, playing 260 defensive snaps and making 14 tackles with three passes defended.

Patriots' J.C. Jackson: Returning to New England
Rotowire
The Patriots acquired Jackson and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick from the Chargers on Wednesday in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jackson will be kicking off his second stint in New England, where he began his career as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He emerged as one of the game's top cornerbacks during his time with the Patriots, recording 25 interceptions in four seasons before bolting for Los Angeles in free agency following the 2021 campaign on a five-year, $82.5 million deal. He never appeared to be a good fit with the Chargers, however, as he missed extensive time with a ruptured patellar tendon in 2022 and struggled in coverage in the first two games of 2023 before being a healthy inactive the past two weeks. Since Jackson's deal contains no guaranteed money beyond this season, the Patriots won't take on much risk by bringing him aboard, and the return to a familiar scheme could help rejuvenate the 27-year-old. Jackson may even be a candidate to move into a starting role right away with rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez out indefinitely with a torn labrum and dislocated shoulder.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Optimistic about training camp
Rotowire
Jackson (kneecap) said Tuesday that he's "right on track" in his recovery and sounded hopeful that he'll be cleared ahead of training camp in late July, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Chargers last offseason, but he wasn't able to live up to the lofty expectations that come with a lucrative contract, as he struggled in coverage before rupturing the patellar tendon in his right knee Week 7. He's nearly eight months removed from surgery and is getting close to a return, but further clarity on his return to the practice field should arrive after her meets with Dr. Neal ElAttrache next week. Head coach Brandon Staley said that when Jackson is available, he expects the cornerback to line up across from the opposing team's best receiver. "That's what we brought him here to do," Staley noted.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Possibly back for training camp
Rotowire
Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said Monday that "the hope" is Jackson (kneecap) will be ready to participate in training camp this summer, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon Week 7 last year and has been sidelined since. At the end of March, Telesco said he's operating under the assumption Jackson will be ready for the 2023 campaign, but head coach Brandon Staley said there was no definitive timetable for the cornerback's return. Further clarity on Jackson's status should surface when the Chargers begin OTAs, but for now, he'll continue to attack his rehab one day at a time.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Sustains knee injury
Rotowire
Jackson won't return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks due to a right knee injury.
Jackson went down with a non-contact injury shortly before halftime Sunday and had to be carted off the field. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but Michael Davis should see increased playing time while Jackson is sidelined.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Dealing with inflammation
Rotowire
Coach Brandon Staley said Monday that Jackson is dealing with inflammation in his surgically repaired ankle, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Jackson underwent ankle surgery in August and is apparently still dealing with some residual effects from the procedure. He's missed two of the first three weeks of the season, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Sunday's matchup in Houston after sitting out the Chargers' Week 3 loss to Jacksonville.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Sits out due to 'soreness'
Rotowire
Chargers coach Brandon Staley said that Jackson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday while dealing with "residual soreness" following last Thursday's game against the Chiefs, Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports.
Jackson made his 2022 debut in Week 2 following ankle surgery undergone in mid-August. However, the 26-year-old still appears to be dealing with the after-effects of this procedure given his lack of participation during the Bolts' practice Wednesday. While Staley did add that Jackson is "good, just sore," it will still be worth monitoring the Pro Bowl cornerback's injury status heading into Sunday's matchup against Jacksonville.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Suits up Thursday
Rotowire
Jackson (ankle) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Chiefs.
It remains to be seen if Jackson will handle a full allotment of snaps Thursday after sitting out the Chargers' season opener, but the return of the playmaking cornerback -- who racked up 17 picks over the last two seasons while with New England -- at least should provide the Los Angeles secondary with a nice boost as the unit looks to contain Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes-led passing attack Week 2.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Questionable for Week 2
Rotowire
Jackson (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Chiefs.
Jackson couldn't suit up in the Chargers' Week 1 win over the Raiders but upgraded to limited participation in Tuesday's walk-through practice. The 26-year-old's final status for Thursday's game could come down to the wire. Of course, having Jackson on the field would be a huge boon as the team attempts to contain Patrick Mahomes, who threw five touchdowns against a depleted Cardinals secondary Week 1.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Week 2 status up in the air
Rotowire
Jackson (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report.
Due to the quick turnaround for Thursday's game against the Chiefs, the Chargers held a walk-through session Tuesday, but Jackson would have had his reps capped had the team conducted a traditional practice. Per Bridget Condon of NFL Network, head coach Brandon Staley said the 26-year-old cornerback will take part in jogging Wednesday to test his ankle, which should give the Chargers a better indication of whether Jackson has a chance to play Thursday. If Jackson is sidelined for a second straight game to begin the season, Michael Davis and Bryce Callahan should see increased roles in the Chargers secondary.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Considered 50/50 for Thursday
Rotowire
Coach Brandon Staley described Jackson's (ankle) chances of playing Thursday against the Chiefs as "50/50," Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Jackson sat out Los Angeles' Week 1 win over the Raiders and is hoping to heal up in time to face another AFC West rival. If the short week provides enough time for Jackson to complete his recovery, his addition to the Chargers' secondary would provide welcome reinforcements against an explosive Kansas City passing game led by Patrick Mahomes, who threw five touchdowns in Week 1.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Expected to sit Week 1
Rotowire
Jackson (ankle), who is listed as doubtful for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Raiders, isn't expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Given his designation, Jackson's expected absence from the Week 1 lineup comes as little surprise. As Jackson continues to work his way back from mid-August ankle surgery, Los Angeles will have to lean on Asante Samuel, Michael Davis and Bryce Callahan to cover the likes of Davante Adams, Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow.

Chargers' J.C. Jackson: Lands massive deal with Chargers
Rotowire
Jackson and the Chargers agreed Monday on a five-year, $82.5 million contract that includes $40 million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
After the Patriots opted not to use their franchise tag on him earlier this month, Jackson became the top cornerback available on the open market. One of the league's premier ballhawks since entering the NFL in 2018, Jackson recorded 25 interceptions over his first four seasons, and his eight picks in 2021 surpassed the Chargers' entire total as a team (seven). He'll be part of an up-and-coming Los Angeles secondary that includes three recent early round draft picks in safeties Derwin James and Nasir Adderley and cornerback Asante Samuel.

Patriots' J.C. Jackson: Expected to hit free agency
Rotowire
The Patriots are not expected to apply their franchise tag on Jackson, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The report notes that the franchise tag for cornerbacks is expected to top $17 million in 2022 and it looks like the team is inclined to let the ball-hawk test the free-agent market. While the Patriots would no doubt prefer to retain Jackson, such an outcome would hinge on him being amenable to re-signing in New England at the right salary/terms. In any case, there will be no lack of interest in Jackson's services if he indeed hits free agency, with the 26-year-old having racked up 17 interceptions over the last two seasons.

Patriots' J.C. Jackson: Claims monthly honor
Rotowire
Jackson was named the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday after he recorded six tackles, four interceptions, one forced fumble and two additional pass breakups while also scoring a touchdown across the Patriots' four November games.
Thanks to his big November, Jackson is up to seven interceptions on the season, trailing only Dallas' Trevon Diggs (eight) for the NFL lead. Since going undrafted out of Maryland in 2018, Jackson has emerged as one of the league's top ballhawks, tallying 24 interceptions over 61 career games.
