  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Earns six carries

Spears recorded six carries for 21 yards in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Jaguars. He added one reception on two targets for two yards. Spears remained the backup to Tony Pollard in the loss, though he did see a significant increase in involvement compared to his one carry in Week 13. Spears had a strong pass-catching role to begin the season, though his current lack of involvement as a receiver further dings his fantasy value.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

Spears did next to nothing in the Week 13 blowout loss to Washington with one carry for 3 yards and no targets, but I still want to roster Spears in the majority of leagues. Before missing multiple games with lower leg injuries and a concussion, he had consecutive outings with at least 10.1 PPR points in Weeks 3 and 4. And he could be a lottery ticket if something were to happen to Tony Pollard. Spears is worth adding in all leagues for 1 percent of your remaining FAB, and he has a favorable upcoming schedule against Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Jacksonville in his next four games.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Limited role in return

Spears rushed the ball one time for three yards in Sunday's 42-19 loss to the Commanders. He was not targeted. Spears returned from a one-game absence caused by a concussion but was on the field for only 13 offensive snaps. Titans running backs combined to record only nine rushing attempts, but his usage still was concerning due to his lack of work as a receiver. Though Tennessee has stated it wants to lessen Tony Pollard's workload, he handily accounted for 12 touches compared to one for Spears.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Set for return

Spears (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Spears missed the Titans' Week 12 contest against the Texans while in concussion protocol. He should return to a change-of-pace role in the Tennessee backfield behind Tony Pollard. Spears did see 10 total touches in his last full contest and should play a meaningful role in Sunday's contest.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Questionable after full practice

Spears (concussion) was a full participant in practice Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Spears closed out the week with back-to-back full practices, but he'll still need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and return from a one-game absence Sunday against Washington. Per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, coach Brian Callahan relayed Friday that Spears is expected to clear concussion protocol later in the day. Tony Pollard should continue to function as the top option in Tennessee's backfield, but if Spears suits up, Spears' change-of-pace role could prove fruitful against a Commanders defense that has allowed a league-high 1,449 rushing yards to running backs.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Logs full practice Thursday

Spears (concussion) practiced fully Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Spears was a limited participant in Wednesday's session, so his upgrade in activity a day later bodes well for his chances of being available Sunday against the Commanders. Friday's injury report will clarify whether Spears is able to fully progress through the NFL's concussion protocol and head into the weekend without a Week 13 designation.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Gets in limited practice

Spears (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Spears missed the Titans' Week 12 win over the Texans with the concussion. The second-year running back previously missed game action with ankle and hamstring injuries. If Spears gets cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Commanders, he'll offer a change-of-pace option behind starting running back Tony Pollard.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Won't play versus Houston

Spears (concussion) won't play Sunday against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. In that context, Tony Pollard will continue to lead the Titans backfield Week 12 and in the process could log some added touches versus Houston. With Spears unavailable and targeting a potential return to action Sunday, Dec. 1 against the Commanders, Julius Chestnut and Joshua Kelley are in line to work in complementary roles behind Pollard on Sunday.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Not practicing Wednesday

Spears (concussion) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. Spears' absence isn't surprising, with head coach Brian Callahan having noted prior to the session that the running back is working through the NFL's concussion protocol, per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site. Spears now has two more chances to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans, but if he's out this weekend, Julius Chestnut and Joshua Kelley would be in line to work behind top back Tony Pollard.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Concussion confirmed

Coach Brian Callahan said Monday that Spears is in the concussion protocol, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports. Spears was examined for a head injury at the tail end of Sunday's loss to the Vikings, so Callahan's comments merely confirmed that the running back will be subject to league protocol in order to gain clearance for his next game action. The Titans play this coming Sunday in Houston, so the team will reconvene for practice Wednesday, at which point Spears' listing on the first Week 12 injury report will become known. Tony Pollard and Julius Chestnut are the healthy backfield options on Tennessee's active roster.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Evaluated for head injury

Spears was evaluated for a possible concussion at the end of Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Vikings, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. If Spears' tests reveal a concussion, he would have to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol before he can return to game action. The second-year running back rushed three times for no gain and caught two of three targets for eight yards prior to suffering the head injury that prompted the concussion test. An update on Spears' status will surface no later than Wednesday, when the Titans begin their practice preparations for a Week 12 trip to Houston.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Week 11 Waiver Priority List

Spears returned from his three-game absence with a hamstring injury in Week 10 at the Chargers and ran well with seven carries for 47 yards, and he added three catches for 4 yards on three targets. Spears has now scored at least 8.1 PPR points in each of his past three healthy games, and he could be a flex option while playing in tandem with Tony Pollard. And if Pollard were to miss any time, then Spears would be a lottery ticket. He's worth adding in all leagues for at least 5-10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Ten touches in return

Spears rushed the ball seven times for 47 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Chargers. He added three receptions on three targets for four yards. Spears was active for the first time since Week 6, and he returned to record double-digit touches for only the second time in six games on the campaign. His touch total may have been inflated by a brief absence in the second quarter for Tony Pollard, but Spears should work as a change-of-pace option moving forward. Spears also showed encouraging explosiveness, as he notched a pair of double-digit gains in Sunday's loss.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Sleeper RBs

Spears is expected to play in Week 10 after missing the past three games with a hamstring injury. I'd consider using him as a flex in deeper leagues, as he plays in tandem with Tony Pollard. Prior to getting hurt in Week 6 against Indianapolis, Spears scored at 10.1 PPR points in his previous two games against Green Bay and Miami. It's a tough matchup against the Chargers, who are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, but Spears could be a factor in the passing game if the Titans are chasing points.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Looks ready for Week 10

Spears (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Spears has been sidelined for each of the Titans' last three games with a hamstring injury, but his ability to take every rep Thursday suddenly makes him the healthiest running back of the top three options on the team's depth chart. Starter Tony Pollard (foot) downgraded from limited participation Wednesday to no activity Thursday, while third-string back Julius Chestnut (foot) was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant. The status of Pollard heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers is of greater import to Spears, who could find himself in a three-down role this weekend if Pollard is forced to miss his first game of the season. When he was available for the Titans' first six games, Spears had filled a complementary role behind Pollard and averaged 5.5 carries and 2.0 targets per contest during that stretch.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Limited in practice Wednesday

Spears (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Spears is hoping to return Sunday against the Chargers after sitting out the previous three games. He has a chance to avoid a Week 10 injury designation by upgrading to full participation Thursday or Friday. Even if he suits up, Spears will likely be limited to a change-of-pace role behind Tony Pollard.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Won't return Sunday

Spears (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest versus the Patriots. Spears followed up a limited practice Wednesday with no work Thursday and Friday, which was enough for the Titans to rule him out for a third straight contest. Meanwhile, starting RB Tony Pollard (foot) didn't log any activity this week but is listed as questionable for Sunday. If Pollard doesn't play, Julius Chestnut will be the favorite to lead Tennessee's backfield, with Joshua Kelley likely getting called up from the practice squad for a backup role.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Limited practice Wednesday

Spears (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Spears has missed the Titans' last two games, but head coach Brian Callahan noted Wednesday that the running back "should be good to go" Sunday against the Patriots, per Wyatt. While Spears seemingly has a good chance to play this weekend, it's notable that fellow running back Tony Pollard missed Wednesday' session with a foot injury. The activity of both of the Titans' top two running backs will thus warrant monitoring over the next two days before Tennessee determines whether either or both carries an injury designation into Sunday's game.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Week 9 Adds (RB Preview)

How bad is the running back waiver wire this week? The top guy is currently not being projected to play this week. But if Spears is able to get healthy, he'll face a Patriots defense that has given up the second-most Fantasy points to opposing running backs. He had 17 touches in his last full game, and the Titans are favorites, so this could be a game they lean on both running backs.

  • Titans' Tyjae Spears: Questionable after three LPs

Spears (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions. Spears logged three consecutive limited practices as he tries to limit his absence due to this injury to just one game. If Spears suits up, he would likely return to a change-of-pace role behind Tony Pollard.
